In our first episode to welcome the New Year, we had Donisha and Lydia of "DRESSCODE" to discuss body empowerment and the importance of self-love. Join us as we have an open discussion on body image and self-awareness. DRESSCODE is an online fashion show, created by Lydia and Donisha, who sought out a fun way to be creatively occupied during their summer quarantine. Recognizing that there were no other forms of media centered and magnifying the voices and work of bigger-bodied women, Donisha and Lydia drew inspiration from the other online fashion shows and nationwide photoshoot challenges to create DRESSCODE. In the show both host alternate in setting various challenges for them to complete. Each challenge contains themes that range from specific outfits, photoshoots, and more... Donisha Wilburn is a multi-faceted artist born and raised in Chicago currently residing in Los Angeles. While having the pressure to confirm one area of interest and lack of representation of bigger black women, Donisha took her passions of music, film, and fashion to explore all the aspects of her identity and creativity. Facing her to create DRESSCODE. Lydia Zenaye is a freelance plus model and a content creator based in LA> Lydia spent many years thinking modeling wasn't for her, and as a result, she shied away from pursuing modeling. However, with support, she has gained the confidence to put herself out there. She is into all things creative, while her main love is modeling and fashion content, she also has a passion for creative direction and being behind the camera as well. As a recent film school graduate, Aaron is working toward exhibiting truths of the human experience through various artistic mediums from music, fashion, and performance art to documentary and film. Danielle Martin is a Chicago native who is an avid student of the arts with dance as her main passion. With her new yearning for spiritual enlightenment, she has begun to seek a career in child development. Ifeanyi Elswith is a contemporary R&B/hip-hop vocal artist from Avalon Park, Chicago, Illinois. The intensity of her soothing soprano voice provokes vulnerability with a stylish and quiet confidence. Her songs provide a heartfelt frequency that touches the inner soul. Ifeanyi's healing tone topped with her quirky lyricism makes for the encapsulating ingredients of her unique, and inspirational sound. Isaac Hollis, is a recent graduate from Illinois State with a B.A. in Organizational and Leadership Communications with a concentration in Queer Studies. He will be moving forward in his educational career to receive his M.A> in Higher Education Administration at Morgan State University. Pashan Adkins is a recent DePaul University graduate from Chicago. She studied Communications and Media with an emphasis in politics and film. Also, she partook in scholastic research on Diaspora studies. In our eighth episode, we have Senior Life Coach and Reiki Master, Teresa Lugo , on to speak about Depression. We talk about the experience of depression and how to overcome it and get to the other side. Teresa Lugo is a Senior Life Coach, Reiki Master and alumni of Master Force Inc. Teresa has had her hand in several startups since leaving her career in the Fashion Industry to include one of her most innovative and lucrative ideas, Crowded Closet " Too much clutter in your closet means too clutter in your life." A metaphor she uses to coach women on the need to make room for new beginnings, take risk and live a fully attainable life. Today, she is an inspiring author as she is writing her personal memoir on the journey through depression. While writing her book in Puerto Rico, Hurricane Maria hit and her life was forever changed. She began Land+Heart Project a non-profit organization created to assist farmers in the restoration of their farms. Rita Stewart, also known as Mu Shemsu-t, was born and raised on the Southside of Chicago. During her role as the Minority Affairs Advisor at Westmar College in 1981, Mu Shemsu-t recognized the impact of her support on her students. Succeeding her role, she channeled her gifts and later developed the Master Force Leadership Academy, an online program aimed at teaching others to use metaphysics, astrology, and their own spiritual acumen to reach the highest version of themselves.
