Gillian Flynn's novel Gone Girl defined a literary niche when it first came out in 2012, and it still defines it to this day. David Fincher's great 2014 adaptation—written in collaboration with Flynn—is one of the greatest and most fun movie thrillers of the 21st century. Now I want to present you with a terrifying scenario: What if this book had come out three years later, and instead of this glorious 2.5-hour film, we got a boring 12-hour streaming series? Come on, you can see it right now in your mind: Episode 3 is a flashback to Amy's life as a child, with none of the regular actors in it. Episode 9 is the Desi episode, and Amy finally arrives at his door right before the closing credits. No thank you. And so 1-Week Rental is here to take you through the history of that movie. How Gillian Flynn wrote her novel and then worked closely with Fincher on the production, how perfect the casting of both Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike was, how Reese Witherspoon produced the movie with the intention of playing Amazing Amy herself only to be told by Fincher she was all wrong for the part, and how this movie is loosely based on the lives of Laci Roth and Matt Stokes. Did you know that? Watch the history segment in full on YouTube: https://youtu.be/i0WuyvYAyrg We're off next week (June 5, 2026). The next episode will be out on Friday, June 12, 2026 when our summer miniseries begins. The Summer of Nolan opens with a podcast about Christopher Nolan's Memento (2000)! Are you an established coach, healer, creative, or sacred leader who feels a subtle restlessness brewing underneath your success? If what used to fulfil you suddenly feels hollow, it's not a problem to fix - it is a clear sign that your soul is ready to expand into a deeper layer of your purpose. In this video, me, a spiritual teacher and ordained priestess Eléonore de Posson, explains why you cannot figure out your purpose with your logical mind. Because your soul is infinite, your purpose is an unfolding initiation rather than a final destination to be "found."Together, we break down how true soul embodiment requires moving away from carbon-copy business strategies and instead surrendering to the alchemical process of the death-rebirth cycle. You will also discover the ancient Law of Dharma, why women are literal energetic portals for the unseen, and why true spiritual mastery cannot be achieved in isolation.
Confidence. Modesty. Purity culture. Femininity. Being “sexy.” Whew… yeah, the Aunties went THERE.
Most spirituality was made by men for men. And so we wonder why it does not feel like it was made for us. Well honey, we are a little different. A little more beautiful. We have this thing called a womb and we just feel differently. And that is not a weakness. That is our spiritual pathway. In this solocast recorded from my home altar I am sharing the daily practices that have genuinely changed how I feel, how I show up and how I move through life. From flowers and tinctures to how I dress, how I decorate my home and why I believe the subtle feminine path creates more lasting change than any plant medicine ceremony. In this episode we explore:
Have you ever quietly wondered if motherhood means losing yourself?Your identity, ambition, femininity, relationship, peace, dreams. In this deeply honest episode, we're talking about motherhood, mum guilt, burnout, identity loss, feminine energy, ambition, relationships after kids, and how to raise children without completely abandoning yourself in the process.Because somewhere along the way, women were sold the idea that being a "good mother" means self-sacrifice, exhaustion, over-functioning, and quietly disappearing.I disagree. In this episode, I'm sharing my honest thoughts on:- how to be a present mother without losing your identity- mum guilt and why it can quietly run your life- balancing motherhood, business, ambition, and family- feminine energy after children- why burnout is not a badge of honour- over-functioning, resentment, and emotional exhaustion- relationships after children and why standards matter more, not less- asking for help, support systems, and why support is not failure- how to stay connected to yourself while raising young children- why your children benefit from a mother who is emotionally regulated, fulfilled, and aliveIf you've ever felt overwhelmed as a mother, guilty for wanting more, scared of losing yourself after kids, emotionally exhausted from doing everything, anxious about balancing motherhood and ambition, or like becoming a mother meant losing the woman you used to be.. this episode is for you.Motherhood should expand you. You're doing everything right… so why are you always tired? In this episode of The Secret Formula of Femininity, Dr. Nicole Monteiro explores the hidden connection between perfectionism and chronic physical fatigue—and why rest alone isn't fixing your exhaustion. Many women feel “tired but wired”—mentally alert but physically depleted. This episode breaks down why that happens and how perfectionism, over-functioning, and nervous system dysregulation keep your body stuck in a cycle of burnout. In this episode, you'll learn:• Why you feel exhausted even when you rest • The connection between perfectionism and fatigue • What “tired but wired” actually means • How over-functioning impacts your nervous system • The physiological cost of always being “on” • Why your body doesn't feel safe to relax • How to start rebuilding energy and self-trustThis is not about doing less. It's about learning how to feel safe enough to rest.
Pornhub and Onlyfans released their 2025 data showing search results and trends. Pornhub noted that although people are searching for what they always have, like Hentai and Milf, LGBTQ searches exploded. But is this because of genuine interest or curated results? Further, 5 of the top 15 categories in general were Asian, suggesting that the interest in these categories is not merely a fetish so much as it the fulfilling of a desire. This is why hentai is almost always ranked #1 every year, likely because exaggerated feminine traits from sound to looks. Thus, we ask, is there a right and wrong type of sexual appeal? Is there a difference between reserved femininity and explicit feminism? Is it possible that if men are naturally motivated by women to produce and provide, and if that is taken away, society noticeably begins to deteriorate. In fact, first world societies with less openly explicit material tend to be more modest and advanced, whereas the opposites true when women openly expose themselves. Shame is a powerful motivator and an indicator of self-awareness and moral decency. Men and women have been trying to see each other make forever, and prostitution is one of the oldest practices for workers and clients; though typically a last resort and not something to be proud of like Onlyfans. So, is it possible that pornography can be done artistically and morally?*The is the FREE archive, which includes advertisements. You have been told to soften, to slow down, to receive, to surrender, and you have tried every version of it without anything actually changing the way you feel inside your own body. The reason it has not worked is that you do not have a femininity problem, you have a nervous system problem, and until you address what is happening underneath, no aesthetic or practice or feminine energy trend is going to reach the part of you that is still bracing for impact. In this episode, I am walking you through what feminine energy actually is, what your nervous system is doing when you cannot soften or receive, what damaged it in the first place, the patterns and identity it built inside you to keep you safe, and the spiritual foundation underneath all of this that the culture cannot give you. The softness you have been chasing is not missing from you, she is buried underneath years of survival, and this episode is the work of helping you find her again.

I've spoken quite a few times on this podcast about how tall women are masculinized. It can look like people saying they feel “so small” around you. Always asking you to carry the heavy stuff because you're “big and strong”. Being told you're intimidating or scary. Misgendering even. There are many examples of this actually happening to us, but not really the other side of things: us internalizing this and finding it weird or awkward to portray ourselves in a feminine way. This is a struggle that many of us tall women face. So we're gonna talk a little bit about this in today's episode and even take it a step further and talk about how when some tall women try to come across as/be feminine, they are “punished” for it. In this episode of the Covenant Eyes Podcast, a powerful challenge is laid out: what if the real crisis facing men today isn't just behavior—but identity? Theo McMonagle is joined by John Heinen and Devin Schadt of The Catholic Gentleman to unpack the deeper roots of masculinity, shame, and purpose in a culture that has lost its way.Together, they explore how the breakdown of authentic masculinity has led to isolation, confusion, and destructive habits—and why reclaiming identity as sons, husbands, and fathers is essential for healing. Drawing from Scripture, personal experience, and years of ministry, John and Devin point to a countercultural truth: real strength is found not in control or dominance, but in sacrifice, responsibility, and self-giving love. This conversation dives into the role of shame, the importance of brotherhood, and the necessity of spiritual discipline in forming men who can lead with courage and integrity. They also address cultural extremes—from passivity to domination—and offer a grounded, faith-filled vision of masculinity rooted in relationship, purpose, and truth.Whether you're navigating your own struggles, leading a family, or seeking clarity on what it means to be a man in today's world, this episode offers both conviction and hope: transformation begins when you embrace your identity and allow God to work through your life.Episode Topics Discussed• The crisis of masculinity and loss of identity• Why shame keeps men stuck and isolated• The difference between passivity and domination• Reclaiming masculinity through responsibility and virtue• The role of brotherhood and accountability• Why prayer and discipline are essential for growth• Cultural confusion around relationships and marriage• The impact of fatherlessness on young men• Learning to embrace sacrifice, not avoid it• How authentic masculinity is rooted in self-giving loveResources MentionedThe Catholic Gentleman Fathers of Saint Joseph The Meaning and Mystery of Man by Devin Schadt Timestamps06:26 – The Root of Lust & Disordered Desire11:36 – How Shame Impacts Men's Lives17:50 – Embracing Littleness & True Strength18:46 – Forming Men Who Take Responsibility21:39 – Brotherhood, Prayer & Spiritual Growth24:55 – Discipline, Habits & Self-Mastery29:53 – Cultural Confusion Around Masculinity33:36 – Marriage, Fear & Misconceptions34:43 – The Power of Relationships & Purpose38:54 – Love, Sacrifice & the Meaning of the Cross44:55 – How Division Distorts Masculinity and Femininity 47:13 – Marriage as a Mirror: Identity, Growth, and Self-Awareness 51:29 – Fatherhood: What Sons and Daughters Need59:31 – Final Encouragement & Living with PurposeSend us your feedback!Try Covenant Eyes for FREE today!Use Promo Code: FreePodcast © 2026 Covenant Eyes, All Rights Reserved
There's been a lot of renewed conversation about the Jackson family—especially around Joe Jackson as a father. But in this episode of The Secret Formula of Femininity, Dr. Nicole Monteiro explores a different perspective:Katherine Jackson as a mother—and what we may be missing in how we understand women like her. This is not a conversation about blame or judgment. It's a deeper look at femininity, survival, and emotional strength within complex family dynamics. In this episode, we explore:• Why softness is often misunderstood as weakness• How femininity can exist within pressure, constraint, and limited options• The difference between emotional safety and physical provision in families• How survival environments shape parenting styles• Why it's important to understand context without excusing harm• The hidden emotional labor many women carry in families• What we can learn about strength, identity, and femininity from this conversationThis episode invites a more nuanced understanding of motherhood, strength, and the many ways women hold families together—often in ways that aren't immediately visible.Because sometimes…softness is not the absence of strength—it's the form strength takes under pressure.
We live in a challenging time, especially for women. Femininity isn't honored nor promoted in our culture as it should be. As believers who value God's creation, we have an obligation to display, encourage, and honor femininity, and it begins right here, in the church. Pastor Tim, Rebecca and Ian will all share their hearts in this message.

This lesson, presented to the women of Calvary Baptist Church, is drawn from Titus 2 and 3, centers on the transformative power of the gospel as the foundation for godly living, emphasizing that right actions must flow from right motives rooted in the grace and character of God. It calls believers—especially women—to live with reverence, humility, and gratitude, shaped by the reality of their desperate need and Christ's costly redemption, which fuels a life of self-control, purity, and service. The passage outlines practical, Christ-centered roles for older and younger women, urging mentorship, teaching, and intentional relationships that model biblical womanhood through love, modesty, and submission—not as duty, but as joyful devotion to God's design. Ultimately, the goal is to adorn the gospel in everyday life, making the doctrine of God our Savior attractive and compelling through consistent, grace-driven behavior that glorifies God and draws others to Him.

Reader: Praise Preacher: Jonathan Smith Today Jonathan looks at the biblical view of masculinity and femininity. What the world teaches about these gender roles is totally different to what the bible teaches. Men and women are created in the image of God, so we should reflect that image to the world. At the end of this message there is a short Q & A session where Jonathan expands further to people's explicit questions. Red Door is an Anglican Church in Melbourne, Australia. Have you ever looked at your bank account and thought…“I'm doing okay… so why doesn't it feel like enough?”In this episode of The Secret Formula of Femininity, Dr. Nicole Monteiro dives deeper into one of the most overlooked truths about money:Financial stress isn't always about money—it's about self-trust.So many women are responsible, capable, and earning well… yet still feel anxious, restricted, or disconnected when it comes to their finances. A biblical vision of godly femininity is rooted in modesty, self-control, and spiritual beauty, emphasizing that true adornment lies not in external appearances or worldly standards of fashion and wealth, but in the inward character of a woman who lives out her faith through good works. From 1 Timothy 2:9–10 and parallel passages in 1 Peter and Isaiah, we are warned against the dangers of pride, vanity, and misplaced priorities—whether through extravagant attire, excessive focus on physical beauty, or cultural pressures to conform to fleeting ideals. God values the heart over the outward form and calls women to pursue the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, demonstrated through humility, service, and godly conduct. Both women and men are called to reject worldly standards and instead cultivate a deeper, lasting beauty that honors God and fosters genuine community.

The obsession with thinness didn't just appear out of nowhere-and it's not just about beauty, body image, or "health."In this episode, I'm unpacking the deeper history of diet culture, female body standards, and the social conditioning that taught women to shrink themselves-physically, emotionally, and culturally. From historical ideals of discipline and restraint to the racial roots of the modern thin ideal, we're digging into how thinness became tied to morality, self-control, and worth. This is a conversation about appetite, power, control, and the quiet rules women have been taught to follow without ever questioning them.So the real question is... when did thinness stop being about beauty-and start being about obedience? Are. In this deeply honest and theologically rich episode, Heather Creekmore welcomes Jen Oshman—author, missionary, and mom of four daughters—to tackle a question many women silently struggle with: Is it good that I was born a woman? Together, they candidly explore how issues of body image, shame, and the cultural pressures of womanhood can lead to deep-seated doubts and frustration. Drawing from global and biblical perspectives, Jen Oshman shares insights gathered from years of cross-cultural ministry and studying God’s word. She addresses the vulnerabilities women face, both physically and socially, and how Western and global cultures shape our understanding of femininity. Jen Oshman unpacks what the Bible says about being female, highlighting the unique and powerful stories of women in Scripture that often get overlooked, and discusses why God’s design for women is not only intentional but also very good.
