Hey there, long time no talk Mad Men, huh?  I’m here to officially say that we’re not going to be doing the Mad Men retrospective we discussed on the wrap up podcast.  Bummer, I know, but!  We do have a cool piece of content that was going to be part of that coverage, a behind the scenes interview with Mad Men editor Tom Wilson, which we recorded very shortly after the series concluded.  Tom worked on 25 episodes of Mad Men during his time with the show, and has also worked on episodes of Rome, Halt and Catch Fire, and Castle to name a few. I’m very sorry to our fans and to Tom that this is so late getting out, but it has too many great tidbits and background info for Mad Men fans to keep locked up in our vault forever. Jim and A.Ron break down episode 509 of Mad Men, “Dark Shadows”.  In which we’re treated to multi-generational Draper bitchface, multi-cultural prejudice, and poison clouds of gas.  It probably didn’t originate from Betty, but we can’t really be sure. Jim and A.Ron break down episode 508 of Mad Men, “Lady Lazarus”.  We have a feeling Pete will need a lot more than a cat’s nine lives to make it out of this season alive!  No psychorock goes unturned as we examine entitlement, misogyny, daddy issues, and the size of Harry’s yang. “At the Codfish Ball” was a solid Mad Men episode, and we tear right into it in this podcast.  Everyone comes away disappointed in this episode… Don finds out he’s an advertising pariah, Sally learns that adults are unbelievably gross, Megan learns that even when life is at it’s best, maybe it’s not all that good, Roger is better bagging French MILFs than new business, and A.Ron learns that alcohol can actually kill crucial brain cells in the span of an 80 minute podcast.  Hope you guys and gals dig it. Turn on, tune in, and drop out with Jim and A.Ron as we cover the trippy, spacey, and all around awesome hour of television that is Mad Men episode 506, “Far Away Places”.  We reflect upon Peggy unleashing her inner Don (and a teaspoon or so of man essence), Roger and Jane being alone in the truth, Coop body checking Don into the glass, and the de-evolution of Don and Megan’s marriage.  Not only that, but we consider some of the best fan feedback on the internet, all from you, our wonderfully bad ass listeners!
