Melody Craft

Though the different notes are limited here's another idea for a song on my RAV Vast A Integral. I still love this instrument :).

I just bought the "A Integral" Handpan from RAV Vast. I really love this instrument. Though there are limitations in the tone range it's really beautiful and well crafted instrument wich a rich and deep tone that a Smartphone mic can't really pic up. I've recorded an idea which is more about the chord movement than about a strong melody.  Tuning: A2 C3 E3 F3 G3 A3 B3 C4 E4

Just tried some tunings and stopped with this one. At first I liked the second part of this snippet but then again, kinda boring and nothing special about it. So will probably discard it. Tuning: C# G# C# F G# D#

Just got a ToneWoodAmp for Christmas. This really is an amazing gadget for acoustic guitars. It amplifies the sound and effects directly through the body of the guitar. This test recording with a delay coming just from my guitar. Tuning: E A D G B E with partial Capo on 3, 4, 5

Originally I wanted to try out the Tuning E G D F# A C# by Erik Mongrain's song "Muse". While writing this post I just noticed that I instead tuned it to E G D F# A E and this idea came along.

I was browsing through some old ideas and found something from 2007. Back then I felt in love with "Low C" by Erick Turnbull . So the beginning is almost the same. I'd really like to continue working on this idea. Tuning: C G D D# A# D#

I've tried out some things in the tuning of the song Fearless by Erik Mongrain. I kinda like the drive of the chorus but I'll see if it could make it to a complete song. The chorus also reminds me a little bit of some existing song that I can't really remember. Tuning: D A B F# A E

I applied for a music university place back in 2007 and this was one of three demo tracks I've used for it. It is based on a Don Ross song called "Lucy Watusi" and the song "Passerby" by Dispatch. Tuning: D A C F C D

I browsed through some old recordings and found this tune from 2007. I just bought a Schlagwerk Cajon in that year and did a test recording along a short Guitar jam with a chorus effect on it. I can't remember the tuning that I've used.

Still don't get Antoine Dufour's Air Ground out of my head so I just tuned to this tuning and tried to come up with some new ideas. One of them is here to hear. Tuning: Eb Bb C G Bb D

In preparation for an upcoming gig (where I play some ambient piano music) I try to play more piano in the next few weeks.

The last three crafts were in the same tuning and these might shape up to a complete song. I think I drop craft 016 though ;). The idea for the chorus came after watching Antoine Dufour's song Air Ground. One of my favorite fingerstyle tunes at the moment. Tuning: C G D# G C D#

Just coughed up the Tuning C G D G A D from a Jon Gomm Tweet. So I tried it out and came up with a first little idea. Tuning: C G D G A D

I'm using this tuning on one of my songs called "Feeling Deep". While practicing this song I tried to put a partial capo and came up with different parts that may fit somehow for a new song in the future. Tuning: D A D F A E Capo: Strings 3, 4, 5 / fourth fret

I currently have a 0.52 string on my 6th string so it's not really a good idea to tune it down to A ;). I should probably use a 0.56 or so. Just uploaded a little idea with some mistakes. It is missing a clear melody for now but I liked the chord progression. Tuning: A B D F# B D

Beim Streamen auf Twitch baue ich manchmal Loops mit verschiedenen Instrumenten. Letztens habe ich mal wieder meine Ukulele herausgeholt und dabei sind folgende Töne zustande gekommen (erneut hinterlegt mit einer automatischen Drumspur von Apples Musikmemos). Tuning: G C E A

Eine weitere kleine Idee, die man sich vor dem Part von Craft 008 vorstellen könnte. Bei dieser Aufnahme habe ich Apples Musikmemos ausgetestet und eine automatisch generierte Drum-Spur hinzufügen lassen. Tuning: C G D G C E

Inspiriert von Piotr Resteckis "Beijing" hab ich ein ähnliches Tuning ausprobiert und bin bei den ersten Versuchen auf diese Melodie gekommen. Tuning: C G D G C E

Mein Bruder brachte mich auf die Idee neben kurzen Melodie-Ideen auch mal etwas längere Sessions hochzuladen. Ich lasse quasi einfach nur den Rekorder mitlaufen, während ich sowieso spiele. Diese Aufnahmen sind tendenziell etwas langatmiger und nicht sonderlich abwechslungsreich, da es keinen konkreten Ablauf wie bei einem fertigen Lied gibt. Auch sind diese nicht fehlerlos und es wird sich hier und da mal verspielt. Tuning: F A C G C E

Für eine anstehende Hochzeit soll zu einem gewünschten Lied ein kleines Intro gespielt werden. Hierbei ist keine spezielle Melodie zu hören, sondern mehr Akkord-Umspielungen zur Vorgabe. Tuning: Standard / Capo 1: Third fret, Capo 2: Strings 6, 5, 4, 3

Das mittlerweile fertige Lied "Moving" (https://youtu.be/AARc5QId4xU) ist im selben Tuning. Allerdings hab ich kurz davor noch mit einer weiteren Idee herumprobiert. Tuning: D A D F# A D

Mal wieder ein wenig mit anderen Tunings experimentiert und ein paar Melodien unter C G C G Bb C probiert. Von der Stimmung her eher wieder eher nachdenklicher. Tuning: C G C G Bb C | Capo: Strings 3, 4, 5 / third fret

Irgendwie hat mich das direkt an Wasser und Surfen erinnert, wobei es weiter hinten etwas nachdenklicher wird. Auch wieder direkt im Standard Tuning um nicht immer umstimmen zu müssen. Tuning: Standard Capo: Strings 2, 3, 4 / fourth fret

Nicht wirklich Melodie, mehr einfacher Rythmus. Um nicht ständig die Gitarre auf andere Tunings zu stimmen, einfach im Standard Tuning mit Capo. Tuning: Standard Capo: Strings 2, 3, 4 / second fret

Hier eine kleine Aufnahme, bei der ich damals nicht das Tuning notiert hatte. Mal sehen ob ich die Idee nochmal irgendwann aufgreife ;).

In der Nullnummer-Folge beschreibe ich lediglich kurz warum dieser Podcast überhaupt existiert und ist gleichermaßen auch ein Test, wie das so alles mit den Podcasts generell funktioniert. In diesem Podcast werde ich in Zukunft kleine, kurze musikalische Ideen hochladen. Da ich hauptsächlich Fingerstyle Gitarre spiele, wird es vermutlich auch meist in diese Richtung gehen.
