Wade Davis, a white water river guide himself, had always wanted to run one of the most dangerous rapids in The Grand Canyon: Lava Falls. His dream was complicated when director Greg MacGillivray decided to mount a heavy IMAX camera to his raft in order to capture the rapids from a unique angle. Episode 9 of "MFF: On Location" for "Grand Canyon Adventure: River at Risk" delves deeper into how difficult it was to shoot with an IMAX camera for the film. Director of Photography Brad Ohlund had to manage the expensive IMAX 3D camera in one of the most difficult shooting environments on earth: The Grand Canyon. Brad and the crew were responsible for the 3D camera, which weighed over 100 lbs., and all of the equipment throughout the expedition down the treacherous Colorado River. Starring Robert F. Both members of the Havasupai tribe, which has roots in the Grand Canyon dating back hundreds of years, Shana and Cree offer a time-honored perspective of The Grand Canyon. Broadcasting from Children's Museum of Pittsburgh, The Saturday Light Brigade is a radio program featuring acoustic music and family fun. Episode 4 of "MFF: On Location" for "The Alps" brings us into the world of Robert and Daniela Jasper. Both world-renowned climbers, the team served as guides on the expedition captured for the film. Famous for his knowledge of The Eiger's north face, Robert first attempted to climb the mountain at the young age of sixteen. Since that time, he has grown into an expert on The Eiger, scaling the wall in over fourteen instances throughout his lifetime. Episode 6 of "MFF On Location" highlights New Orleans-based cajun musician, Amanda Shaw. Amanda has been a fiddling virtuoso since age seven, when she became the youngest person ever to play with the Baton Rouge Symphony as a soloist. Making the transition from Classical to Cajun, Amanda soon brought her own innovative crossover sound to the fore, gaining international fans. She and her band, The Cute Guys, have received raves on the festival circuit, Rollingstone.com called her “a fiddling wizard” and she recently opened for Cher at the VH1 Divas/Cher Farewell Tour.
