This week's show is with Tad Hargrave. Tad is a hippy who developed a knack for marketing (and then learned how to be a hippy again). Since 2001, he's been weaving together strands of ethical marketing, Waldorf School education, a history in the performing arts, local culture work, anti-globalization activism, an interest in his ancestral, traditional cultures, community building and supporting local economies into this work of helping people create profitable businesses that are ethically grown while restoring the beauty of the marketplace. Tad did improv comedy semi-professionally for 25 years, co-ran Edmonton's progressive community building network TheLocalGood.ca, founded streetcarshows.com and the Jams program of yesworld.org. He speaks Scottish Gaelic and helped to launch and co-facilitate the Nova Scotia Gaels Jam. He is from Edmonton, Alberta (traditionally known, in the language of the Cree, as Amiskwaciy [Beaver Hill] and later Amiskwaciwaskihegan [Beaver Hill House]) and currently lives in Duncan, BC (Quw'utsun territory). In this episode, Lian and Tad explore the hidden terrain where creativity and commerce collide… the trap many artists, healers, and visionaries fall into without even realising. Together, they map the archetypal dynamics between the artist and the entrepreneur, illuminating the often-unseen pattern that keeps soulful work from fully flourishing in the world. Tad shares his potent visual model of collapsing and posturing — revealing how both are twin expressions of the same wound, and why neither offers true freedom. Lian reflects on the parallels with shadow work, the conflation of collapsing with nobility, and the ache many feel when faced with the false binary of authenticity versus success. They also touch on the ancient roots of these archetypes, and the wounding of both beauty and provision in our modern age. Episode 382: On April 2, 1885, the tranquil settlement of Frog Lake in what is now Alberta became the scene of a devastating tragedy. Known as the Frog Lake Massacre, this violent episode unfolded during the North-West Rebellion. Nine settlers, among them government officials, two Roman Catholic priests, traders, and a clerk, lost their lives at the hands of a group of Cree warriors led by Wandering Spirit. The attack stemmed from mounting desperation within the Plains Cree community, who faced starvation triggered by the near extinction of buffalo and the inflexible, often cruel administration of Indian Agent Thomas Quinn. While Cree Chief Big Bear advocated for peace and negotiation, tensions within his band and widespread hardship created a perfect storm. The violence not only shocked the young Dominion of Canada but also shaped the outcome of the North-West Resistance and left a legacy of sorrow and contested memory that resonates to this day. Summer Confuorto, a Gros Ventre, Cree, Mi'kmaq woman, tells the story of running her first marathon: the 2025 Boston Marathon, representing the Ohketeau Cultural Center Natives Run Initiative. Summer tells her story, from running along the water during her youth in her hometown of Falmouth, MA; to how running connects her to her own and also the local native communities; and then about her first marathon, the 2025 Boston Marathon. Ahora vive con otra mujer.... Él es machista y manipulador.... »Actualmente vivo en la casa de mis padres con él. Toda la vida él me ha maltratado verbalmente.... La última vez me agredió físicamente. He optado por mantenerlo siempre a distancia.... [Para mí es muy difícil] que él viva bajo el mismo techo, y por esa razón quiero irme muy pronto de casa, [aunque signifique] que debo dejar de cuidar a mi madre. No lo soporto.... ¿Será que no lo he perdonado?» Este es el consejo que le dio mi esposa: «Estimada amiga: »Sentimos mucho lo que ha estado sufriendo. Ha sido herida emocional y físicamente por su hermano, y tiene pocas esperanzas de que él intente cambiar su actitud y su conducta. Vivir bajo el mismo techo está impidiendo que usted tenga paz en su propio hogar. Velma shares the rest of her story about how she ended up in Bible school, adjusted to a new culture, and what it was like to live with someone who drank. She offers hope to those who are struggling.

  «Porque con el corazón se cree para alcanzar la justicia, pero con la boca se confiesa para alcanzar la salvación» (Romanos 10:10) ¿Necesitas un milagro? Entonces ¡créelo, confiésalo y recíbelo! “Pero Gloria, no sé si pueda hacer eso”. Sí, ¡sí puedes! Ya lo hiciste una vez, cuando hiciste a Jesús al Señor de tu vida; lo creíste, lo confesaste y recibiste el milagro más grande del universo, ¡el milagro de un espíritu renacido! Cualquier otro milagro que recibas vendrá de la misma manera. Empieza simplemente creyendo lo que Dios dice acerca de tu necesidad, al permitir que la Palabra de Dios cambie tu corazón y tu mente. Muchas personas tratan de evitar este paso. Tratan de creer por un milagro sin invertir el tiempo suficiente en la Palabra para que ésta transforme su mente y su corazón. Sólo quieren confesarlo con su boca y que aparezca en forma instantánea. Pero no trabaja de esa manera. Lo que uno cree con el corazón y confiesa con la boca es lo que recibirá. Si aún no tienes suficiente fe para creer que recibirás el milagro que necesitas, puedes conseguirla. «La fe es por el oír, y el oír, por la palabra de Dios» (Romanos 10:17). Así que empieza a llenar los oídos de tu corazón con la Palabra hasta que nazca la fe para tu milagro. Eso fue lo que hizo la mujer con el flujo de sangre. Ella creyó en su corazón que Jesús la sanaría, luego lo confesó en voz alta y después actuó conforme a su fe—y recibió su milagro. Jesús no fue quien tomó la decisión. Él no dijo: “Creo que hoy haré un milagro en la vida de esa pobre mujer”. No. Ella lo hizo realidad al conectar su fe con el poder de Dios. Por eso, Jesús le dijo: «…hija; tu fe te ha salvado» (Mateo 9:22). Hoy tú tienes la misma oportunidad. El poder de Dios está presente en todo lugar. Tu fe lo traerá a tu vida, a tu cuerpo o a tus circunstancias. Por lo tanto, busca a Jesús. Cree, confiesa y recibe tu milagro hoy.
