Luego me enteré de que tenía novio y que dormía en la casa de él. Rompió mi alma en pedazos, y dejé de verla y hablarle por varios meses.... »Ahora mi hija menor, que tiene diecisiete años... empezó la universidad.... Descubrí en su celular que tiene un lenguaje muy sucio, que miente, que toma licor con sus compañeros... y que se tomaba fotos desnuda y se las enviaba a un joven con el que charlaba.... Además, es... irrespetuosa.... »No sé en qué fallé.... Mi motivo de oración es que Dios se apiade de ellas y que yo muera ya [para no ver a mis hijas en esas condiciones].» Este es el consejo que le dio mi esposa: «Estimada amiga: »... Algunas personas, al enterarse de su situación, no se van a sorprender. Es que saben, al igual que usted, que lamentablemente las relaciones sexuales extramatrimoniales, el lenguaje vulgar, el tomar licor y mentir son conductas comunes y corrientes para muchos jóvenes.... En cambio, usted tiene una visión del mundo diferente de los demás, basada en la fe que tiene en un Dios personal que ama a las hijas suyas y desea lo mejor para ellas. »Sin embargo, ¿qué pensarán sus hijas acerca del deseo que usted tiene de morir a causa de la conducta de ellas? ¿Acaso su deseo de morir hará que ellas admiren su relación con Dios? ... »Usted dice que no habló con su hija mayor por varios meses. ¿Cree que con ese enojo le demostró a ella adecuadamente el amor de Dios? ¿No será que ella asocia ese enojo con un Dios vengativo y exigente? »Su hija mayor ya es adulta, y como tal tiene derecho de vivir con quien mejor le parezca. Usted no tiene que estar de acuerdo con la decisión de ella, pero no por eso deja ella de ser la hija a quien ama. Es un gran error alejar a nuestros hijos adultos a causa de que se niegan a vivir en obediencia a nuestras reglas y normas. »En cambio, su otra hija todavía es menor de edad. Ahora que usted está enterada de las actividades de ella, le recomendamos que haga lo que pueda para protegerla de esa conducta tan peligrosa. »La mayor parte del tiempo, el poder que tienen los padres y las madres es económico. Déjele en claro a su hija menor que usted no pagará la cuenta de su teléfono móvil a no ser que tenga acceso para revisar los mensajes de ella. El hecho de que esté enviando fotos de sí misma desnuda demuestra que ella no comprende los peligros que eso implica o encierra. Susana Gisbert, fiscal especializada en violencia de género dice en RNE, que el sumatorio de asesinatos machista de los últimos días "han sido demoledores". Asegura que no comparte la tesis del "efecto llamada", en relación a los asesinatos machistas y los casos de violencia de género. "No podemos resignarnos a que no se hable de ello o que no interese, porque entonces es la pescadilla que se muerde la cola", añade la fiscal. Sobre las medidas de protección hacia las mujeres, apunta que "las alternativas son difíciles y además, en muchos casos, son prácticamente imposibles, cuando las mujeres no quieren ser protegidas. Ahí es donde tenemos el gran handicap. Si una mujer quiere ser protegida tenemos las órdenes de protección, las pulseras telemáticas... El problema es cuando las mujeres ni siquiera denuncian. La gente que esté en el entorno tiene que contribuir, denunciar siempre y llamar a la policía, porque puede estar salvando una vida", explica.La educación, apunta la fiscal, es "fundamental" y no se puede permitir que en la gente joven cale "ese mensaje negacionista". Cree que en las redes sociales, "determinados sectores han ganado el relato" y es importante hablar a los jóvenes en las vías que entienden y proporcionar herramientas para contrarrestar el efecto de esos mensajes. "Hemos convertido la violencia de género en un problema político. No se puede convertir la violencia de género en una piedra arrojadiza entre partidos políticos", añade Gisbert. Salió ya por fin la sentencia de condena al Fiscal General del Estado. Lo primero que hay que señalar es que es una sentencia bien trabajada que probablemente no convencerá a muchos. El Tribunal Supremo no ha concedido demasiada fiabilidad a las propias declaraciones del Fiscal General del Estado y considera "muy relevante" el borrado de los móviles y el correo. También ha destacado el valor de la testifical de personas como la Fiscal Lastra. En cualquier caso, la sentencia analiza muy detenidamente todas las cuestiones.

La sentencia hace especial hincapié en que el fiscal general del Estado [...] es una persona que tiene que guardar un especial deber de reserva por la naturaleza de su profesión. Como lo guardamos nosotros, jueces y fiscales. Como lo son también los datos médicos. Darle normalidad a una filtración de datos tampoco creo que sea lo más conveniente". Cree el portavoz que hay que evitar sentar cualquier tipo de juicio que "fuese muy radical" y apuesta por ver la sentencia desde una perspectiva "técnica", ya que la resolución tiene "todos los elemento" y es "muy pedagógica". Hits like "One Fine Morning" (#24 US, #2 Canada) propelled millions of records sold, three Juno Awards, world tours, and openers for Duke Ellington. Hoffert played keys/vibraphone and arranged until 1974; the band reunited in 1992 and continues today. Today we’ll talk about the release of “One Fine Morning (Anniversary Edition),” which is now available on limited edition three-colour-splatter vinyl, sun/moon vinyl, double CD and digitally. This is the first-ever fully remixed, remastered and expanded edition of the platinum-selling band’s breakthrough 1971 release. Then, we meet filmmaker Tasha Hubbard. Based on her own documentary Birth of a Family, her movie “Meadowlarks,” in theatres now, stars top Indigenous actors Michael Greyeyes, Carmen Moore, Alex Rice and Michelle Thrush as four Cree siblings, separated since childhood and now in their fifties, who agree to meet for the first time over a holiday weekend in Banff. The siblings were part of the 60s Scoop (1951-1991), seized by the government and placed in non-Indigenous homes.

Siibii means river in Cree – a body of water with no fixed form. That description resonates with the pop singer/songwriter now known as Siibiii. As 200 nations from around the globe meet on the edge of the Amazon rainforest to hammer out cooperative goals on climate change, Indigenous people are making their presence known. They are included in discussions but have no negotiation power outside of the official representation from the countries they reside in. Many Indigenous attendees have organized marches, experienced civil disobedience, and even clashed with security officials in order to have their voices heard. Notably absent from this year's talks is any senior Trump administration delegation. We'll hear Indigenous perspectives about their role at COP30. We'll also hear from Cree journalist Brandi Morin, who spent months reporting on conflicts between Indigenous communities in Ecuador and Canadian mining companies. Currently, Ecuador's president is working on reforming the country's constitution to open up more natural resources for extraction. This week's show is with Tad Hargrave. Tad is a hippy who developed a knack for marketing (and then learned how to be a hippy again). Since 2001, he's been weaving together strands of ethical marketing, Waldorf School education, a history in the performing arts, local culture work, anti-globalization activism, an interest in his ancestral, traditional cultures, community building and supporting local economies into this work of helping people create profitable businesses that are ethically grown while restoring the beauty of the marketplace. Tad did improv comedy semi-professionally for 25 years, co-ran Edmonton's progressive community building network TheLocalGood.ca, founded streetcarshows.com and the Jams program of yesworld.org. He speaks Scottish Gaelic and helped to launch and co-facilitate the Nova Scotia Gaels Jam. He is from Edmonton, Alberta (traditionally known, in the language of the Cree, as Amiskwaciy [Beaver Hill] and later Amiskwaciwaskihegan [Beaver Hill House]) and currently lives in Duncan, BC (Quw'utsun territory). In this episode, Lian and Tad explore how living stories form culture, meaning they're more than psychological metaphors, they're teachings tied to the land and beings around us. They touch upon Tad's Waldorf childhood and the years he drifted, the Gaelic homecoming that pulled him to Scotland and an elder storyteller. They follow the thread from archetype to architecture… sun, soil, and seasons. From there the conversation turns to how stories remember what a culture must not forget, why punishment poisons, and how initiation is smuggled into folktales so boys and girls grow into people.
