On January 6, 2021, the US Capitol Building was stormed and attacked by pro-Trump terrorists seeking to overturn the result of the 2020 election.In this inaugural episode of Not Another White Man's Podcast, co-hosts Brandee Blocker Anderson, Kendra Dawsey, Seanna Pieper-Jordan, and Haleh Rabizadeh Resnick discuss the capitol hill attack aka the MAGA riot incited by outgoing president Donald Trump.These Trump rioters breached the capitol building with the goal of potentially kidnapping and murdering members of Congress and Vice President Mike Pence. Washington DC and the US Capitol was stormed by a mob of Trump supporters. The Trump mob thought their actions would bring about a coup d'etat. In this episode, we relate capitol hill protesters' actions to those of White terrorists in the post-Reconstruction period, in which White mobs used domestic terrorism to overthrow elections throughout the South after the Civil War.
