This week EPA administrator Lee Zeldin began the process of negating the 2009 “Endangerment Finding” that was, as President Obama called it, the ‘Holy Grail of Climate Change Regulation.' This was where the idea that the very byproduct of Human existence, Carbon Dioxide, could be regulated as a pollutant. So, here in Viginia we have the Virginia Clean Economy Act that was passed in 2020 by the Democrat-majority General Assembly and signed into law by Governor Ralph Northam. If you have heard about “California-ing Virginia,” this is the act that did that. Connecting Virginia's environmental regulations to California's including getting to “net zero” carbon emissions by 2030. This law also put a stop to new electric generating facilities being built to replace retiring ones despite the demand skyrocketing. What does the EPA's action mean for this law? Can it be repealed? Overturned in court? We sit down with analyst for the Thomas Jefferson Institute Steve Haner to find out. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

In a sweeping discussion, the hosts cover the fallout after UPenn was forced to strip transgender swimmer Leah Thomas (Will Thomas) of titles and issue personal apologies to the displaced female athletes—sparking outrage and satire. They pivot to a sobering analysis of Iran's nuclear program, revealing that contrary to official claims, Iran retains significant enrichment capability deep within facilities like Isfahan and Pickaxe Mountain—many of which remain untouched and potentially operational. While the Pentagon admits Iran's program was set back by only 1–2 years, China's involvement and Trump's mixed signals on oil sanctions fuel suspicion that Iran's nuclear ambitions are far from over. The segment closes with speculation about whether new U.S. legislation authorizing B-2 bombers and bunker busters for Israel will preempt Iran's next moves before it's too late.

It's Monday, June 9th, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Myanmar ceasefire extended to June 30 despite consistent violations The military junta ruling Myanmar announced last week that it would extend a temporary ceasefire, originally established in early April, to June 30, reports International Christian Concern. A massive earthquake struck the country in late March, killing 3,700 people and necessitating extensive relief work in hard-hit civilian areas. Opposition militias agreed to the extended ceasefire, creating hope for improved humanitarian conditions in June despite regular junta violations of the ceasefire up to now. In the first three weeks of the ceasefire alone, the U.N. tracked at least 172 junta attacks, including airstrikes and artillery assaults. The open-source research group Bellingcat documented that at least 22 villages were bombed by the junta in violation of the ceasefire agreement. Senator Cruz wants June to be “Life” month because Roe was overturned Last Thursday, Republican Senator Ted Cruz of Texas introduced a resolution to designate June as Life month to honor the anniversary of the Supreme Court's monumental Dobbs decision to overturn Roe v. Wade on June 24, 2022. CRUZ: “Three years ago, the Supreme Court made an historic advance in the cause of life in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization. The court overturned Roe v. Wade, a flawed decision that for nearly 50 years enshrined one of the most disturbing notions in our constitutional history: that the Constitution somehow protects the right to end the life of an unborn child. “The fact is, Roe had nothing to do with the Constitution. It was invented whole cloth. It was the product of judicial activism, nine justices legislating from the bench. And that dangerous path took decades to correct. “Thankfully, in 2022, Roe was overturned. Dobbs did not impose any new policies from the bench. Instead, the task of protecting life falls where it always should have been -- not in the hands of unelected judges, but in the hands of the American people.” Canadian pastor imprisoned for objecting to Drag Queen Story Hour Calgary Pastor Derek Reimer, a street preacher who has had the courage to object to drag queen story hours for children in libraries, is back in jail in Alberta, Canada, reports the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. The conviction came after Reimer confronted a library manager over a Drag Queen Story Hour event, reports Rebel News. Wearing a GoPro, he walked into the library, spoke to a few attendees, and eventually found the room where the event was taking place. He told the manager the program was "pervert grooming" and warned, "We're going to make your name public and hold you accountable." Security escorted him out peacefully. Later, he posted the video online — along with the manager's name, workplace, and the library phone number — calling on viewers to voice their opposition. Only one person reportedly contacted her, but the librarian testified that she became afraid of what might happen next. She shut down her social media accounts and said Reimer's words left her anxious and fearful. The 38-year-old pastor was arrested and accused of breaching the house arrest condition of his sentence for simply participating in a public rally before his own court appearance. Pastor Reimer, who has now been jailed unjustly at the Calgary Remand Centre for over a month, has been treated badly. The judicial officials have blocked all visitors from seeing him, even the ones who were pre-approved. The only ones allowed to visit Pastor Reimer are his wife, Mona, and their baby. Derek's lawyer, Andrew Mackenzie, hopes that media attention on Reimer's unfair treatment will lead to a more positive outcome. Concerned Christian friends have been gathering for a rally of support at the Remand Centre every Sunday afternoon at 4:30pm, protesting Pastor Reimer's incarceration and bail denial. Please pray for justice to be served on Pastor Reimer's next court date on Monday, June 23rd. On June 5th, Pastor Reimer posted Psalm 138:7 on his Facebook page. It says, “Though I am surrounded by troubles, [God] You will protect me from the anger of my enemies, You reach out Your hand and the power of Your right hand saves me.” Learn more or donate to his legal defense at SavePastorDerek.com. The American Miracle movie tells story of former slaves fighting British The American Miracle movie debuts tonight in 1,000 theaters across America for three days only! Based on Michael Medved's book by the same name, it tells the story of God's hand in the founding of the United States. TESTIMONIAL 1: “I thought it was extraordinary just to see the hand of God on the United States of America. It's absolutely undeniable! The schools are doing everything they can to erase our history. We have an opportunity and an obligation to share the true history of the country.” Cameron Arnett, a black Christian actor known for films by the Kendrick Brothers like The Forge and Overcomer, said this. ARNETT: “I play Peter Salem. He gets introduced to George Washington as a hero of the Battle of Bunker Hill. What I love about this kind of stuff is that we are now unearthing a slew of black heroes that we weren't fortunate enough to grow up with, but that our children will be able to grow up with, because now the stories are being told.” Pastor Darnell Harper of New Covenant Temple was amazed. HARPER: “One of the aspects that touched me a lot was the African-American experience in the founding of our nation and in the battles that we fought, how there was a spirit of unity that we don't hear a lot about today.” The enthusiasm for The American Miracle movie is contagious. TESTIMONIAL 2: “Something that I've learned in the film tonight is that we cannot underestimate how great our God is and how powerful He is and how much He does govern the affairs of men.” Indeed, Daniel 4:17 says, “The Most High is sovereign over all kingdoms on Earth.” Go to www.AmericanMiracleMovie.com, watch the trailer, click on the Tickets tab, type in your zipcode, and purchase tickets for tonight, Tuesday or Wednesday since it's only in the theaters for three days. 5 reasons Diana in Glendale, Arizona likes The Worldview Diana Munday in Glendale, Arizona wrote me at Adam@TheWorldview.com. In this episode of the Faith with Friends podcast, hosted by Lisa Lorenzo, listeners are invited on a transformative journey through Holy Week. The discussion goes beyond merely recounting biblical events by encouraging personal spiritual reflection and growth. This episode implores the audience to consider what it means to become a true "house of prayer" and a dwelling place for God in both communal worship spaces and personal daily life. The heart of the episode centers around Mark 11:15-17, where Jesus cleanses the temple, disrupting the transactional nature of religion at the time. Lisa Lorenzo draws attention to Jesus' righteous anger as an expression of God's desire for genuine worship and authentic connections with humanity. This episode is rich with biblical references, including Isaiah 56:7 and 1 Corinthians 6:19, emphasizing a call for inner reflection and spiritual intimacy. Review your daily life and identify any barriers, distractions, or idols that may hinder your communion with God, urging for an acceptance of transformative change.Key Takeaways:Explore the concept of becoming a "house of prayer" both within worship settings and in everyday life.Jesus' cleansing of the temple reflects God's call for authentic worship over transactional religion.Reflect on personal barriers that might prevent a deeper connection with God, such as anxiety, pride, or unforgiveness. The importance of creating personal space for God's presence, welcoming divine transformation and intimacy.Acknowledge the shift from a physical temple to a spiritual reality where God's spirit resides within us.Notable Quotes:"Jesus, in his righteous anger, reveals the heart of God. A heart that yearns for authentic worship, not transactional religion.""Let this be your prayer. Jesus, Come and make my heart your home, a house of prayer.""Is my life a reflection of God's presence, a living prayer?""Don't fear the overturning of tables. He's cleansing your heart.""God's love is not exclusive, but expansive, drawing all into his presence."Resources:Follow Faith with Friends on Instagram: Faith with Friends.Biblical references: Mark 11:15-17, Isaiah 56:7, 1 Corinthians 6:19.The song mentioned: "Come and make my heart your home."This episode offers a profound reflection on embracing God's transformative power and establishing a deeper, more intimate connection with Him.
On April 11, 2002, a massacre occurred on the streets of Caracas, Venezuela, as rebelling officers and members of the country's Chamber of Commerce attempted a coup against the democratically elected president Hugo Chavez. The coup lasted just two days. The people were not having it. Chavez supporters descended from the hillsides of the poorest communities across Caracas and amassed outside of Miraflores, the presidential palace. They refused to recognize the de facto government. On April 13, Chavez's presidential guard expelled the coup leaders and returned Chavez to power. Pressure from both the people and loyal military forces led to the collapse of the coup government. The people and the military united together to defend their democratically elected leader. Tara took home the same honors in 2018 and was also named 2016 "Personality of the Year!" In addition, Tara has also won over two dozen state and national journalism awards for column writing, news reporting and investigative reporting while working for three newspapers and writing for a variety of national publications. She won a first place reporting award from the North Carolina Press Association for an investigative series about the weaknesses in Charlotte's overburdened court system, which regularly let murderers off the hook with less than 15 years in prison. Due to her work, that system has been reformed. Tara is also a winner of the prestigious first place Green Eyeshade Award, a national award for column writing from The Society of Professional Journalists. Tara took to the airwaves about 15 years ago to do a radio show heard up and down the coast and fell in love with bypassing her editors to talk straight to the people. For the first time since the 2017 Delphi murders, the state of Indiana has released crime scene photos, shedding new light on the evidence used to convict Richard Allen in the deaths of 13-year-old Abby Williams and 14-year-old Libby German. The photos, included in a legal response by Carroll County Prosecutor Nicholas McLeland, show different angles of Libby German's cellphone before it was collected as evidence. The same phone recorded the infamous "bridge guy" video, which played a crucial role in the case. Prosecutors argue the images reinforce their claim that environmental factors, such as water or dirt, could have impacted the phone's functionality. However, Allen's defense team disputes this, insisting the phone was manually activated even after it had reportedly stopped moving. Allen, 52, was convicted in November and sentenced to 130 years in prison for the killings. His attorneys have since filed a Motion to Correct Errors, arguing that multiple issues— including forensic concerns, Allen's treatment while in custody, allegedly false evidence, and an alleged confession from another man— warrant a new trial or the overturning of his conviction. Defense attorney claims safekeeping order was illegal Allen's lawyers have long argued that his pretrial detention at the Westville Correctional Facility, where he spent significant time in solitary confinement, severely impacted his mental health and ultimately influenced the trial's outcome. They describe the safekeeping order that placed him in the facility as “plainly illegal from start to finish.” In response, McLeland dismissed these concerns, stating, “The motion for safekeeping does not touch on matters of guilt or impact the ability to have a fair trial, it is a mechanism for housing the Defendant in a penal facility pending trial that will keep him and others safe.” Surveillance footage and allegations of false evidence The defense has also pointed to newly surfaced surveillance footage from near the crime scene that they claim contradicts the prosecution's timeline of events. According to Allen's attorneys, jurors were presented with false evidence during the trial. McLeland, however, has pushed back, stating that the video is “unverified by legitimate means” and lacks an Indiana State Police identification number. As a result, he argues, it is “an improper submission for consideration by the Court.” Alleged 2017 confession by another suspect Another major argument in the defense's motion revolves around an alleged confession by Ron Logan, the late owner of the property where Abby and Libby were found. According to Indiana State Police records from 2017, Logan allegedly gave a detailed account of how he killed the girls. Allen's attorneys argue that excluding Logan as a third-party suspect was a critical mistake by the court. However, McLeland downplayed the confession, stating that the person who reported it to police “failed the polygraph miserably” and that “many of those details are directly contradicted by the evidence.” Prosecutors push back against new trial request McLeland has urged the judge to deny the defense's motion outright, arguing, “The Defense is not permitted to request a new trial to change strategy when their chosen path fails.” Former prosecutor and current defense attorney Brad Banks echoed this sentiment, predicting that Allen's request will be swiftly denied. “I won't be surprised if this was denied pretty readily,” Banks said. “I think there's somewhere close to 0% chance any of this gets granted.” NBCUniversal fights for public access to evidence In a separate legal development, NBCUniversal has filed a motion requesting that all trial evidence and exhibits be made public. The media company had previously submitted a public records request seeking access to materials in the case, but the state denied that request. Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE?
