It is hard to believe that Jesus, the perfect Son of God, was found guilty of anything. Yet after six trials, Jesus is sentenced to be crucified. The message is entitled “And Justice for None” and is based on the second trial of Jesus from Matthew 26.

This week, Pastor Kevin focused on prayer. How do we pray? How often do we pray? Do we honestly believe that we will get what we ask for when we pray? Do we have the right attitude when we pray? We serve a loving God and He will be there for us. Also introduced in this week's message was the prayer triplets. We were introduced to leaders who will be part of a triplet who will pray for each other and the church over the next 6 weeks. If you aren't a part of one, please contact Pastor Kevin and we will do everything that we can to get you into a triplet. Jeremiah 29:13 reads, "You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart." Are we seeking after God and ONLY God with our heart? Are we spending precious time with God? David came from humble beginnings, but God saw David's heart and knew that David was deserving of the Kingship.

Pastor Kevin continued his sermon series, "Heroes!" with a message on Esther. She was a risk-taker when it counted. There were some initial fears, but through careful planning and timing, she was able to rescue her people from an evil plan. Pastor Kevin's message came from the entire story of Esther, however the main points came from Esther 4:1-17. This book has so many twists and turns, that it could easily be made into a TV movie. Have you ever thought about taking a leap of faith and taking a risk for the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords? If you have, we want to encourage you in continuing that journey and knowing that God has a plan for you. Pastor Kevin continued the "Heroes" series with his message on Moses, the Reluctant Hero of Faith. This message comes to us from Exodus 3:1-14 and 4:1-17. Moses came up with excuses and reasons why God should somebody else rather than him. But, God continued to put that trust in Moses and Moses was able to do great things because he eventually learned to trust God. How many times do we come up with excuses as to why we're not qualified to do this or that? If God is one who is encouraging you to do this, then He will empower you to do it. God doesn't call the qualifed, He qualifies the called.

This service is our annual Youth Sunday service. During this service, we recognized our graduating high school and college students for their achievements. Pastor Garrett delivered a message entitled, "TnT - Trust in Transition," and encouraged the congregation to take time and invest in the younger generation and to trust and listen to their point of view. Pastor Garrett used the examples of Elijah & Elisha, Moses & Joshua, Paul & Timothy. Who have you invested in today? Do you have somebody younger who you could take under your wing and help them in their walk with the Lord? We also made a future announcement regarding the future of Redland Valley as Eric Sellers introduced Pastor Kevin Richardson as our new Lead Pastor. Pastor Kevin will be installed by Bishop Bob on Sunday, June 2nd and will deliver his first message at Redland on Sunday, June 9th. Be sure to stop by and say hi to the new pastor and his lovely family.

Nothing Stays The Same - May 12, 2019

On Sunday, May 5th, we started a new chapter in the history of Redland Valley Church. It was our first Sunday without Pastor Brian Willison. We continue to pray for him and his wife as they make the transition from Redland Valley to their new ministry home. Jody Flurie gave the message on May 5th with her message entitled, "Wonderfully Made." She broke down Psalms 139 as we looked at how we are wonderfully made and created by God above. Continue to join with us as next week, we will have Bishop Bob Beaty speak. He is the bishop for the Susquehanna Conference of the Brethren in Christ denomination.

Pastor Brian delivered a celebratory message for Easter Sunday out of Colossians 2:13-15. We are alive through Jesus Christ. He paid the price so that we could spend eternity with Him. Declare that victory along with us. Be sure to stop by on the 28th as this will be Pastor Brian and Judy's final Sunday with us before they start a new chapter at Speedwell Heights and it's our annual Pioneer Sunday featuring the children's ministries on Wednesday nights. Afterwards, there will be a meal in the Activity Center.
