Last week we began looking at the crucifixion of Jesus and looked at the first three statements Jesus made from the cross. In those statements, Jesus focused on others. Today we look at the last four statements Jesus makes which focus on Jesus and the pain He is going through and the plan of salvation he is completing. Tune in for Final Words – Part 2 in our “One Week” series.

Today we begin to look at the crucifxion of Jesus as we continue our "One Week" series. Jesus was on the cross for six hours and made seven different statements over a span of six hours. We look today at the first three statements Jesus made and the significance of those statements for a message entitled "Final Words."

This Sunday we continue our journey with Jesus to Calvary as we look at the last week of his life. Today we will focus on the trials of Jesus. It is hard to believe that Jesus, the perfect Son of God, was found guilty of anything. Yet after six trials, Jesus is sentenced to be crucified. The message is entitled “And Justice for None” and is based on the second trial of Jesus from Matthew 26.

Today we journey with Jesus and the disciples to the Garden of Gethsemane. Here Jesus agonizes in prayer while the disciples sleep. This event is significant as Jesus is just hours away from the cross. We will be challenged to consider again what it means to follow Jesus.

Today we continue our series entitled “One Week” by looking at Jesus washing the feet of his disciples. This event happens just hours before Jesus’ death on the cross. As Jesus’ disciples bicker about who is the greatest, Jesus demonstrates greatness by washing their feet. This message will challenge us to serve others, just like Jesus.

Today we begin a series entitled "One Week" as we look at the last week of Jesus' life. We begin our journey toward the cross and resurrection Sunday. Today we look at Jesus triumphal entry and what it means. We often recognize this passage on Palm Sunday but we are beginning today by looking at this event and how it begins Jesus' final week.

Today we conclude our Simply Jesus series by looking at John 11, the story of the raising of Lazarus. This miracle reveals the heart of Jesus, the heart of Jesus who loves us. Outside of the resurrection of Jesus, this is the greatest miracle Jesus ever did. It demonstrates clearly that Jesus is our loving Savior.

Jesus had a heart full of compassion. Yet the church today is often seen as uncaring and lacking compassion. In today's text, Jesus tells one of his famous parables, the story of the good Samaritan to show that compassion comes from our love of all people. Today's teaching will remind us that we too are called to be full of compassion, just like Jesus.

Forgiveness is at the heart of who Jesus is. That's why he came to earth and give his life for our sins. Today, we are going to jump again into a day in the life of Jesus. In this story, forgiveness is the theme. And Jesus doesn't just teach about forgiveness, but shows us that only He is the Forgiving Savior.

Ever get caught in a storm? Ever find yourself in the midst of a difficult situation and fear for your life. In our message today, we look at the disciples who are caught in the midst of a storm while Jesus is asleep in the boat. Little did they know the Master of the Storms was there with all the power needed to see them through. We continue our Simply Jesus series by focusing on the power of Jesus.

Today we continue our preaching series entitled, "Simply Jesus" as we look at Jesus' calling of his first disciples. In our day where diversity is king and being inclusive so important, we see how Jesus invited all people to be a part of His kingdom. Just as Jesus called His first disciples, he continues calling us today. How will you respond because Jesus is calling?

Today we begin a new series entitled, "Simply Jesus." In Luke 2, we have the story of Jesus as a teenager being left behind at the temple in Jerusalem. We will see that Jesus was focused on His Father's business even at the age of 12. Our challenge will be to be "Focused, Just Like Jesus."

Jason Oberholser is a missionary that is sponsored by Redland Valley through the BIC denomination. They currently serve in New Mexico with the Navajo people. Jason blessed the congregation with a message based on the Great Commission in Matthew 28:18-20.

The wonder of Christmas is not limited Mary and Joseph, shepherds and wisemen and of course the baby Jesus. The wonder of Christmas is realized by two Christmas leftovers, Simeon and Anna, who encountered the Christ child forty days after His birth. Today we consider how we continue to celebrate Christmas in the midst of our Christmas leftovers.

Jesus' birth in Bethlehem is God's gift to us at Christmas. Today, we continue looking at the birth of Jesus as we consider the first witnesses of his birth, the shepherds. We will once again re-visit the familar story of Christmas with the angel's announcement of Jesus birth and the shepherds making their way to Bethlehem to see for themselves the miracle of Christmas.

The miracle of Christmas is that God has come to us in the form of the Christ child. It is good news of great joy for all people. Today, we look at the birth of Jesus in Luke 2 and are reminded again of the significance of His birth. Today, we continue "The Wonder of Christmas" by focusing on the birth of Jesus.

Today, we continue our series, "The Wonder of Christmas." In Matthew 1, we learn of Joseph's dilemma of what to do about Mary. As Joseph considers divorcing Mary, an angel appears to tell him that he is to take Mary home as his wife. Today, we look at Joseph and see how God draws him into the miracle of Christmas.

This week begins a new series entitled "The Wonder of Christmas." Over the next four weeks, we will look at the Christmas story ideally with a sense of child-like wonder. Today, we consider Mary and how God chose her to be a part of the miracle of Christmas. Today, we will be challenged by Mary's simple obedience and reminded that just as God chose Mary, He also chooses us. Main scripture - Luke 1:26-38

It is easy to be thankful and praise God when things are going well. But when things aren't going well, when we are having a no-good, very bad day, are we still thankful? How can we give thanks in the midst of difficulty or hardship? Today we look at the story of Paul and Silas who in the midst of a very bad day sang their praise to God at midnight.

They say that America's pastime is baseball, but I think it is grumbling. We are so quick to be critical, find fault, grumble and complain. The Bible calls it murmuring, and it is a sin that can rob us of the spirit of thanksgiving. Today we will look at Philippians 2, where Paul encourages us not to grumble and complain, but rather be thankful and shine like stars for Jesus Christ.

No one wants to be described as greedy or materialistic. Yet, each day we deal with stuff and how material things can consumer our lives. Jesus tells a great story in Luke 12 of a man who wanted it all and wanted it now. Jesus uses the story to show how greed and materialism rob us of true thanksgiving.

Today we begin a new series entitled "Whatever Happened to Thanksgiving?" With the arrival of November we are already preparing for Christmas. Thanksgiving is becoming a forgotten holiday and thanksgiving seems less important than ever in our society. Over the next four weeks, we will look at those things that keep us from being truly thankful. We begin today with worry.

We are often called by God to take a step of faith and many times those steps come in the midst of the storms of life. Today we look at Peter as he walked on water in the midst of the storm, as we consider the steps of faith we will need to take to realize the church you've always dreamed of.

Precious is a word we use to describe a new born baby or an animal or loved one, but many of us would never call the church precious. God did. Today, we look at Paul's teaching in Ephesians 4 where he calls the church to unity. As we continue to realize the church we always dreamed of, unity must prevail. To be the precious church of Jesus is to be an united church.

Pastor Kevin continued the "Church You've Always Dreamed Of" series with a message from Matthew 25:31-46 entitled "Meeting Needs in Ministry." How often do we see a need and fill that need? Do we think that somebody else will take care of it? What if that somebody is YOU? Take some time and listen to this message. Hopefully it leaves you encouraged to reach out to a family member, friend or co-worker and encourage them with a message or a blessing of some kind. Remember, we're stringing lights for Jesus.

Pastor Kevin continued his "Dream" series with a message from 2 Thessalonians 2:13-17. This week's emphasis was on discipleship. Are we continuing to grow closer to God? Are we continuing that desire to be closer to our faith? The journey only starts when we say yes to Jesus and we hand our life over. It continues as we draw ourselves closer to God.

Pastor Garrett continued the "Church You've Always Dreamed Of" series with a message about the kid-friendly church. He used the passages in Matthew 19:13-14, Matthew 18:3-6 and Ephesians 5:1. We realize how important children are to the spiritual health of the church. We need to realize and understand that the children are watching us. If we want to see them grow in their walk with Lord, we must show them how much we love the Lord as well. We hope that you've been enjoying this series and that you've been blessed by the teachings in this series. Join us as we're coming down the home stretch of this series. Pastor Kevin continued the "Church You've Always Dreamed of" series with a message on worship. This week's message is entitled, "Making Our Worship Our Witness," from the passage of Isaiah 6:1-8. As we worship and fall in love with God, we want others to see that love and experience that love.

For this week, Pastor Kevin continued the "Church You've Always Dreamed of" series with a message on evangelism. This message is entitled "The Ones Jesus Misses the Most." He used the story of Jesus seeking out Zacchaeus in Luke 19. Jesus made time for Zacchaeus and made him feel wanted. Zacchaeus repented of his sins and followed after Christ. Are we taking the time to reach out to those who don't know Jesus?

Pastor Kevin started a new series called, "The Church You've Always Dreamed Of," with a message from Matthew 7:7-11. This week's message is entitled, "How Big Is Your God?" This week, Pastor Kevin focused on prayer. How do we pray? How often do we pray? Do we honestly believe that we will get what we ask for when we pray? Do we have the right attitude when we pray? We serve a loving God and He will be there for us. Also introduced in this week's message was the prayer triplets. We were introduced to leaders who will be part of a triplet who will pray for each other and the church over the next 6 weeks. If you aren't a part of one, please contact Pastor Kevin and we will do everything that we can to get you into a triplet. We hope to see you back next week as we look at seeking the lost and sharing our story.

Pastor Kevin delivered an incredible message entitled, "It's a 5 o'clock world," for our Labor Day weekend. This morning's message came to us from Matthew 20:1-16. This message was a great reminder that it's not about our work, but instead His work. Join us next week for the beginning of a new series, "The Church You've Always Dreamed Of."

Pastor Kevin concluded his Heroes series with a message from the book of Job. We often hear about suffering, but what about the joy in suffering? Job gets everything taken from him and yet He continues to praise God. Take some time today and listen to what Pastor Kevin has to say about our suffering hero. We hope that you have enjoyed the Heroes series and we look forward to worshipping with you next week at Redland Valley.

Pastor Kevin continued his "Heroes" series with a message out of Daniel 6:1-21. Daniel was dedicated to the Word of God, will of God and worship of God. Daniel stayed true to his faith even if it meant death. Do we dare to be a Daniel in 2019? Join us next week as we wrap up this Hero series with a message from Job.

Pastor Kevin continued his series, "Heroes," with a message on the story of Elijah. Elijah's story covers several passages in 1 Kings. There's so much that we can learn from the story of Elijah. Join us as we finish out the Heroes series in the next couple of weeks.

Pastor Kevin continued our summer series, "Heroes!" with a message from 1 Samuel 16:1-13. This message was centered around David and how David was seeking after God's own heart. Jeremiah 29:13 reads, "You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart." Are we seeking after God and ONLY God with our heart? Are we spending precious time with God? David came from humble beginnings, but God saw David's heart and knew that David was deserving of the Kingship.

Pastor Kevin continued his sermon series, "Heroes!" with a message on Esther. She was a risk-taker when it counted. There were some initial fears, but through careful planning and timing, she was able to rescue her people from an evil plan. Pastor Kevin's message came from the entire story of Esther, however the main points came from Esther 4:1-17. This book has so many twists and turns, that it could easily be made into a TV movie. Have you ever thought about taking a leap of faith and taking a risk for the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords? If you have, we want to encourage you in continuing that journey and knowing that God has a plan for you. Pastor Kevin continued his series on Heroes with a message of Joshua: The Quiet Hero from Joshua 1:1-9. We hope that these messages have been encouraging you in your faith and helping you as you grow in your walk with the Lord.

Pastor Kevin continued the "Heroes" series with his message on Moses, the Reluctant Hero of Faith. This message comes to us from Exodus 3:1-14 and 4:1-17. Moses came up with excuses and reasons why God should somebody else rather than him. But, God continued to put that trust in Moses and Moses was able to do great things because he eventually learned to trust God. How many times do we come up with excuses as to why we're not qualified to do this or that? If God is one who is encouraging you to do this, then He will empower you to do it. God doesn't call the qualifed, He qualifies the called.

Pastor Garrett continued the "Heroes!" series with a message about Joseph. We know the story of Joseph, the dreamer, but we took this opportunity to look at his attitude at the detours that he faced in his life. The detour of betrayal. The detour of false accusation. The detour of being forgotten. Yet, Joseph continued to lean on God's understanding and not his own. Join us as we continue on with this series with the story of Moses, the reluctant hero.

Pastor Kevin continued his series on Heroes with a message on Abraham. Take some time to listen on Abraham's incredible faith even to the point of possibly sacrificing his own son.

Pastor Kevin started a new series, "Heroes!" Throughout this series, we'll be looking at some of the heroes from the Old Testament. To kick off the series, we looked at our first hero, Noah. Noah's faith to build an ark took patience and resilence to complete a task that wouldn't make sense to any of us, but it made perfect sense to God. Take a listen and hear how we can apply this faith into our own lives.

Pastor Kevin delivered an encouraging message, "Do You Know My Father," from John 14:8-14. Pastor Kevin encouraged the congregation that to know the Father, we need to know the Son. Have you spent that quality time with God seeking out His will and direction for your life?

Pastor Kevin encouraged us with a message entitled, "Running on Empty," from Mark 5:21-43. Have you ever felt those moments where you felt like you're running on empty in your spiritual life? Take some time and listen to this encouraging message. Maybe this is something that can help you refill your spiritual tank.

Pastor Kevin Richardson was installed during the service by Bishop Bob Beaty. Pastor Kevin delivered a message entitled, "Who Am I?" This message came out of Matthew 16:13-18 when Jesus asks His disciples the very same question. Pastor Kevin encouraged the congregation to follow after Jesus and that the church doesn't belong to us, but rather the church is built through and belongs to Jesus Christ. Continue to pray for Pastor Kevin, Ruth, Molly and Tessa as they make this transition to Redland Valley and pray for Pastor Kevin as he seeks out God's call on the Redland Valley congregation.

This service is our annual Youth Sunday service. During this service, we recognized our graduating high school and college students for their achievements. Pastor Garrett delivered a message entitled, "TnT - Trust in Transition," and encouraged the congregation to take time and invest in the younger generation and to trust and listen to their point of view. Pastor Garrett used the examples of Elijah & Elisha, Moses & Joshua, Paul & Timothy. Who have you invested in today? Do you have somebody younger who you could take under your wing and help them in their walk with the Lord? We also made a future announcement regarding the future of Redland Valley as Eric Sellers introduced Pastor Kevin Richardson as our new Lead Pastor. Pastor Kevin will be installed by Bishop Bob on Sunday, June 2nd and will deliver his first message at Redland on Sunday, June 9th. Be sure to stop by and say hi to the new pastor and his lovely family.

Bishop Bob came and paid Redland Valley a visit with an encouraging message entitled "Nothing Stays the Same" from Philippians 4:4-9. Bishop Bob went through this passage piece by piece looking at celebrating the good news of Jesus while being faithful to God in those moments of anxiety and stress. Join us this Sunday for our annual Youth Sunday service where Pastor Garrett will be delivering the message and the youth will be leading the congregation in worship.

On Sunday, May 5th, we started a new chapter in the history of Redland Valley Church. It was our first Sunday without Pastor Brian Willison. We continue to pray for him and his wife as they make the transition from Redland Valley to their new ministry home. Jody Flurie gave the message on May 5th with her message entitled, "Wonderfully Made." She broke down Psalms 139 as we looked at how we are wonderfully made and created by God above. Continue to join with us as next week, we will have Bishop Bob Beaty speak. He is the bishop for the Susquehanna Conference of the Brethren in Christ denomination.

This was our annual Kids Sunday service with presentations from our Good News Club and Pioneer Clubs ministries. It featured the kids singing, doing skits and a farewell message from Pastor Brian as this was his final Sunday with the congregation. We ask that you continue to pray for Brian and Judy as they start the next chapter in their ministry and continue to pray for the church board and Bishop Bob as they seek out our next lead pastor.

Pastor Brian delivered a celebratory message for Easter Sunday out of Colossians 2:13-15. We are alive through Jesus Christ. He paid the price so that we could spend eternity with Him. Declare that victory along with us. Be sure to stop by on the 28th as this will be Pastor Brian and Judy's final Sunday with us before they start a new chapter at Speedwell Heights and it's our annual Pioneer Sunday featuring the children's ministries on Wednesday nights. Afterwards, there will be a meal in the Activity Center.

Pastor Brian continued his "I Promise" series with a message out of 1 Peter 4:12-16. This week's message was on the topic of suffering. Peter talks about not being ashamed to suffer on behalf of Jesus Christ. During this service, we celebrated 5 baptisms and 8 people becoming members at Redland Valley.
