"If you're especially prone to being exceptionally hard on yourself, know that there's nothing you could do to outrun God's grace, either. His arms are reaching for you, stretched out wide. How wide? From one of His Son's nailed hands on the cross to the other. This is how far His grace goes for you."Leave a comment for Kristen: https://incourage.me/?p=251837--This Easter, prepare your heart and home with Simply Jesus: Easter — a keepsake magazine from DaySpring. "For a long time, I thought church communities should be filled with people who looked and thought alike. But our differences are a gift. There is richness in different generations, cultures, and even denominational traditions. We unite around core truths — like the authority of Scripture and the resurrection of Jesus — but we don't have to be spiritual clones." -Melissa ZaldivarLeave a comment: https://incourage.me/?p=251866--This Easter, prepare your heart and home with Simply Jesus: Easter — a keepsake magazine from DaySpring. "I don't know how long I'll be here; my lease is up soon and there are big questions on the horizon. I may call this beautiful city home for eight more years or I might be packing boxes in eight weeks. Today, it's completely unknown. In week two of the "Simply Jesus" Lenten series, Pastor Seth Drewry from Believers Fellowship in Belleville, AR delves into the temptations of Jesus as depicted in Luke 4:1-13. Pastor Seth highlights how Jesus, although tempted like us, remained unyielding to sin. Through fasting and prayer, Jesus finds strength and effectively uses Scripture to counter temptation, illustrating how God provides the resources to resist sin. Pastor Seth explains that Jesus' 40 days in the wilderness equip Him to understand our struggles deeply, as He experienced the same trials and temptations in human form. With this empathy, He offers us guidance and victory over sin. By following Jesus' example, we can find empowerment in times of trial, renew our commitment during Lent, and look forward to a harvest of heart transformation on Easter Sunday.Join us next week at Believers Fellowship. "We are parented by God toward rootedness in the same way that parents work to root their children in Christ – through worship, prayer, and His word. We need strong roots when inevitable storms come, to keep us steady when the winds of life blow. Then, God parents us toward using our wings, reminding us that when we place our hope in Him, we will “soar on wings like eagles, … run and now grow weary, … walk and not be faint” (Isaiah 40:3).And when we use those wings to fly, we can be assured that God goes with us."Leave a comment for Jennifer: https://incourage.me/?p=249642--This Christmas, prepare your heart and home with Simply Jesus: The Heart of Christmas — a beautiful keepsake magazine from DaySpring. "If that isn't enough, Scripture goes on to say that we are redeemed, delivered, set free. We are righteous and made in His image. We are new creations who now have friendship with God. "This Easter, fill your heart with His joy in a new way and let it spill out everywhere. Let us come to Him this Easter as His children, with open hearts and willing hands, to love and serve in whatever way He leads us. As we envision the empty tomb and celebrate that eternal freedom we have been given, let's not keep this joy to ourselves. Let's be a part of bringing His Kingdom here, today — transforming this world with His healing love, one precious heart at a time."Leave a comment and be entered to WIN a copy of Simply Jesus: The Heart of Easter: https://incourage.me/?p=237747--This Easter, prepare your heart and home with Simply Jesus: The Heart of Easter – a new keepsake magazine from DaySpring. "Serving well begins with asking for suggestions, listening carefully, and getting creative by anticipating all sorts of needs. Recently in a conversation with my sister (who's been diagnosed with terminal brain cancer) and brother-in-law, they mentioned the awkward position they've repeatedly found themselves in with people wanting to help. What is offered isn't what they need, and they don't know how to express this for fear of sounding ungrateful. Well-meaning friends make assumptions about what is helpful. Most people (including me!) offer food, but it has to be when it fits their schedule. What we fail to consider is how full the person's refrigerator may already be, how small their appetite is from treatment or sickness, how our timing isn't aligned with their existing plans, and how guilty or unappreciative the person feels from having to throw out excess food they simply can't eat. Even if we ask open-ended questions about how to help, it's awkward for the person to express what they really could use. When I realized there were better ways to help others going through similar circumstances, I asked my sister, brother-in-law, and friends for suggestions." You haven't lost your ability to hear Him well, you may have just entered a new level of intimacy with God. "God will never abandon you in your time of grief. When you feel completely alone in this world, turn to God's Word for comfort. When the tears won't stop, turn to God to dry your tears. When you feel like you've utterly hit rock bottom, turn to God for hope. He's there with you, in the fallow season, whispering in your ear, “I've got you. You're going to be OK.” This might not feel like encouragement right now, but someday you'll look back on what you're going through and see how God sustained you."Leave a comment for Michelle: https://incourage.me/?p=237865--This Easter, prepare your heart and home with Simply Jesus: The Heart of Easter – a new keepsake magazine from DaySpring. "I learned two eye-opening (and heart-humbling) lessons: 1. Words hold the power of life and death for the person who says them. 2. Words hold the power of life and death for the person who hears them. Our words impact our ability to do hard things. And our words impact the ability of other people to do hard things. Yes, there are moments when we must speak the truth about the hard thing out loud. I'm afraid. This is hard. My heart aches. But if complaints dominate our conversation, the hard thing becomes the only thing. And any power we might gain from the Spirit within us gets swallowed up by a lesser voice."Leave a comment for Michele: https://incourage.me/?p=237718--This Easter, prepare your heart and home with Simply Jesus: the Hope of Easter – a new keepsake magazine from DaySpring. "What if we dared to replace our insistence on self-sufficiency with stubborn hope? What if we opened ourselves up to the infinite possibilities that lie in store when we place our hope outside of ourselves? When we stop hinging our worth based on what we can (or can't) do and instead place our hope in who God is, we might just discover that we don't find true strength in our ability to go it alone but in our willingness to surrender to a grace greater than ourselves."Leave a comment for Kayla: https://incourage.me/?p=237690--This Easter, prepare your heart and home with Simply Jesus: the Hope of Easter – a new keepsake magazine from DaySpring. Jesus was born into a difficult time in the history of Israel. John put it like this, “In him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness, and the darkness comprehended it not.” Simeon, an elderly man in Jerusalem at the temple called Jesus a “light” who would be revealed to the gentiles. Prophesies about Jesus birth proclaimed He would be a Savior. In today's message we take a look at a familiar story in John 4 in which Jesus speaks to an unnamed woman who is empty from the hardships of life. To this seemingly insignificant (to those around her BUT not to the Savior) woman, Jesus makes His boldest claim about Who He is. Our texts are Matthew 1:20-21, and John 4. Questions? "In the quiet, I realize, and maybe you do too, that I have become full. And not in a good way. Full of expectations for this season, full of plans and pulls. Full of Facebook and Instagram — I just can't seem to put them down. Full of myself and what I want. I'm so filled up that I can't put anything else in. When I feel like this, I know what I need to do, but sometimes I need someone else to confirm it. So if you need confirmation, too, you have it from me. I have to empty myself of me and make room for Jesus. I must turn off the distractions, even some good ones, so I can focus on the One who is ultimately the most important."Enter to WIN a copy of DaySpring's new keepsake Christmas magazine! https://incourage.me/?p=235446 Prepare your heart and home with Simply Jesus: Christmas – a new keepsake magazine from DaySpring. "Jesus came to us. He lowered Himself and came into our world, but He also continues to come into the caves we often hide ourselves away in. Christ came to lift us out of our guilt. He came to pour light into the darkness. The Christmas cure is to let the love of Christ fill your loneliness, cover your shame, and come into your guilt. You are free. Instead of reaching to resolve your pain on your own, receive the gift God is offering you through His son."Leave a message for Anjuli: https://incourage.me/?p=236288--This Christmas, prepare your heart and home with Simply Jesus: Christmas – a new keepsake magazine from DaySpring. We do not need to choose between intellectual honesty and faith. True faith can only exist in harmony with intellectual honesty. While many Church leaders discourage members of the Church from deconstruction, I have to say that God transformed me and even delivered me through my deconstruction and reconstruction. Deconstruction is inevitable. Deliverance itself involves a process of deconstructing one's life and belief systems. One of the central elements of a robust faith is intellectual honesty. In today's podcast, you will hear from a well-known intellectual whose work has rocked the Christian world over the past few decades and, I believe, will continue to shape the Christian Church for generations to come for the better. I'm talking about the intellectual giant and someone future generations will refer to as a "father of the faith," N.T. Wright.❤️ SHOW YOUR SUPPORT - LINKS BELOW...➡️ DONATE ➡️ Join our team!https://www.givesendgo.com/karlgesslerfamilybandhttps://www.patreon.com/karlgesslerSocial Media➡️Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100089357625739➡️Telegram - https://t.me/FaithoftheFathers➡️Truth Social - https://truthsocial.com/@UCLOvq6O4aIXLrkKxwXkq3uA ➡️Gab - https://gab.com/KarlGesslerSupport the show
"God is not surprised when we fall apart. He isn't shocked or dismayed when we get a little or a lot messy. He doesn't demand that we get our act together before coming to Him. And God doesn't run the other way when we feel like it's all too much — or when we are what feels like too much."Leave a comment for Mary: https://incourage.me/?p=231846--This Easter, prepare your heart and home with Simply Jesus – a new keepsake magazine from DaySpring. "God wastes not one drop of your difficulty. God is renewing your strength and vision day by day, season by season. He is not idle but actively moving in your life so that you may know Him better. Part of that is showing you and me how the hardship that seemed so unnecessary before can grow into future blessings rising from the mystery."Leave a comment for Kristen: https://incourage.me/?p=231792--This Easter, prepare your heart and home with Simply Jesus – a new keepsake magazine from DaySpring. "Jesus meets us inside the walls of our churches and outside of them on smoke breaks. Church isn't always a sermon. Sometimes it's a smoke break with two friends whose lives have looked nothing like mine. Jesus was right there – inside our church service and outside too. Each of us belongs to Him."Leave a comment for Aliza: https://incourage.me/?p=231714 --This Easter, prepare your heart and home with Simply Jesus – a new keepsake magazine from DaySpring. "As real as our challenges are, heaven must become even more real. That pain you feel? You're homesick. But that's okay, because to be homesick only confirms that the best is yet to come. Go ahead and dream, even while you weep. One day soon, you will finally be home. And He'll have your room ready."Leave a comment for Michele: https://incourage.me/?p=231032--This Easter, prepare your heart and home with Simply Jesus – a new keepsake magazine from DaySpring. "We live in a dance of yesterday and today, of grief and gratitude. We do not have to pick one. There's a sisterhood of gratitude and grief, of death and resurrection. I find both in the strands of my midlife hair. I look at a section of still-jet-black mixed with lightened pieces and bright, almost-translucent-white strands and feel an ache for what was and a thanks for who I am becoming with age, change, and redemption."Leave a comment for Tasha: https://incourage.me/?p=231702--This Easter, prepare your heart and home with Simply Jesus – a new keepsake magazine from DaySpring.
