But when believers try to sanctify themselves through obeying the Law of God, there's no question they'll fail. In Romans 8 we find the solution: living by the Spirit. "To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified." Isaiah 61:3 The doors that creaked shut will open on oiled hinges; the work of your hands will flourish again. Expect restoration to meet you where you stand. Picture this: a structure, battered by time and neglect, is carefully revived with love and care, revealing its original beauty. In the same way, God works within you, longing to restore what has been lost and to breathe hope into your weary soul. Consider the story of Israel's return from exile as told in the book of Ezra. After years of longing for their homeland, the people experienced an incredible revival, filled with renewed purpose and hope. As they rebuilt their lives, they found encouragement in God's promise, much like a flower blooming after a harsh winter. Isaiah 61:3 tells us that God offers "a crown of beauty instead of ashes," a promise that speaks deeply to each of us as we anticipate our own restoration. For I will restore health to you and heal you of your wounds,' says the LORD, ‘Because they called you an outcast, saying: “This is Zion; No one seeks her.”  Therefore, "What you lost will return wiser, fuller, and better aligned. The end of this year will not echo regret but redemption." Jeremiah 30:17 reminds us that with every act of restoration, healing follows. Be it in our marriages, careers, or personal growth, God is at work. He will renew your sense of purpose and reestablish your joy. With each passing moment, you are drawing closer to the day when you can declare, "God restores what was lost!" Doors you thought were sealed will become hinges of testimony. Restoration is not coming slowly; it is arriving right on time. Remember this: your life will become the beautiful stories of redemption because "Restoration brings hope." Before this year closes, may what was broken in your marriage, ministry, career, and business be mended stronger than before. Restoration is returning like dawn after the longest night. This is the season your story gets its second wind — peace in your home, clarity in your calling, provision in your path. The year won't end without a holy turnaround. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old have passed away. Behold, the new has come!" Amen. Prayer for the Day!Heavenly Father, thank You for Your promises of renewal. Brethren, I pray for you that the end of this year will not echo regret but redemption. It will not resound with shame but with songs of deliverance. What was stolen will be restored, what was delayed will be accelerated, and what was barren will bear fruit. May the Lord crown your year with goodness and cause your paths to drip with abundance. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Trying, versus dying. The answer to our recidivism problem - Christians like to call it "besetting sin" - is not to try harder to be good! That didn't work for anyone under the Old Covenant, and it still doesn't work. Yes, God's Law is good, but we won't become good by keeping the Law. The solution is much more radical than that. Maple Park Church Sermon - November 16th, 2025 by Maple Park Church

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13Imagine an eagle soaring high above the majestic mountains, its wings spread wide as it dances through the clouds. This powerful creature symbolizes the freedom and heights we can achieve when we embrace our potential. Just as the eagle effortlessly rides currents of air, we too can discover new horizons when we let go of self-imposed constraints. Remember, as Tony Robbins said, “Limitations live only in our minds.”  Let me paraphrase Philippians 4:13 in this format, "When my strength runs out, Christ hands me His — enough for the next step and the one after. I move not by my will, but by His wind at my back." In other words, our capabilities are not defined by our circumstances but by our faith. When we reach deep within ourselves and trust in God's promise, we can break free from the limitations we have accepted. Remember, "you don't conquer by confidence in yourself, but by communion with Him. In Christ, every 'impossible' becomes possible." Matthew 19:26 says, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." Reflect on the story of Moses leading the Israelites out of Egypt. Despite his initial hesitations, he rose to the occasion, guided by God's unwavering purpose. Just as God empowered Moses to achieve the seemingly impossible, He is ready to inspire each of us to step beyond our current boundaries, proving that “with God all things are possible.” Remember, we are not fearless, but we are fortified because Christ turns our trembling into tools and our limits into launchpads. As we think about our own journeys, let's remember that every goal we strive for begins with a single step. Zig Ziglar wisely said, “You don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.” Each small effort you make is a building block toward your larger aspirations, reminding us that God is always with us, encouraging our growth. Amen. Ephesians 3:20 says, "Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us." Amen. Prayer for the Day! Heavenly Father, thank You for the potential You have placed within each of us. Brethren, I pray for you; may the Lord help you to see beyond your limitations and to trust in His mighty power. May He open the eyes of your heart to recognize that the walls before you are not fortresses but invitations to witness His deliverance. May courage rise in your spirit, clarity rest upon your mind, and peace guard your heart. May doors open that no man can shut, and may you walk in the fullness of God's purpose for your life. In Jesus' name. Amen.

We can't see God - directly. "No man has seen God at any time," but we can see His work. We can discern Him through His vast and wondrous Creation. But on a more personal level, we find evidence of God in the lives of people. An unselfish, upright, truly compassionate person makes us pause.
