How do I set the boundary in a way that helps children learn and grow? In Episode 11 of The Bumpy Road to Healing, Traci and Leena discuss a few key elements that need to be in place for discipline and accountability to make long-term behavioral changes (i.e., children internalize or take responsibility for their behavior).
With adults learning more about the impact of trauma and attachment, we see an increase in encouragement and support of students; however, a decrease in accountability. This understanding has created confusion about what accountability is and its role in emotional healing and maturity. In Episode 10 of The Bumpy Road to Healing, Traci and Leena discuss what accountability is and what it is not.
Many good educators are leaving the profession due to not feeling safe or supported. In Episode 9 of The Bumpy Road to Healing, Traci and Leena discuss the importance of Healthy Compliance and its role in conscience development for children. Healthy compliance not only helps children mature, but it also provides safety for all students and staff in a school building.
