Send us a textWhat if the real center of Job isn't human endurance but the absolute sovereignty of God? We open Job 11 and follow Zophar's soaring words about God's unsearchable wisdom to a hard truth: theology can be right and still wound if it's applied without love, timing, and discernment. That tension drives a heartfelt conversation on how to handle Scripture carefully, especially when a friend is already in pieces. We walk through the text—higher than heaven, deeper than hell, broader than the sea—and sit with the staggering claim that nothing falls outside God's rule. Even Satan must ask permission, which reframes our pain: it may be mysterious, but it is never random. Some of us share stories of worship in the valley and how presence often helps more than polished answers. We also push back on the rising tide of universalism and the denial of hell, urging biblical clarity that is honest, compassionate, and anchored in Christ. All along, we keep returning to this: every book of Scripture leads us to the Lord himself. Job reminds us that God's wisdom exceeds the highest heights and the darkest depths, and that our task is to suffer well, speak carefully, and trust fully. Whether your season ends with restoration or simply deeper reliance, you are held by the One who writes the end from the beginning. If this conversation steadies your heart, share it with a friend, subscribe for more studies, and leave a review to help others find the show. Send us a textWhat if hell isn't escape or annihilation but the terrifying reality of meeting God without a mediator? We dig into the book of Job to challenge fashionable doctrines that flatten eternity and soften judgment, exploring why scripture calls God's knowledge higher than the heavens and deeper than hell. That only makes sense if hell is no metaphor but a bottomless reality—eternal in duration and weight—mirroring the very terms we gladly accept for heaven. We open the text and address a hard claim: annihilation would be a kind of hope, an end to consciousness that empties judgment of its moral gravity. Scripture refuses that shortcut. Hell's depth underscores the infinite worth of the One we offend, and the cross of Christ makes sense only if the wrath he bears is truly eternal. Along the way, we confront the gulf between God's sovereignty and our desire for autonomous freedom. From Zophar's challenge—who can hinder God?—to Genesis's example of God restraining sin, we trace a line through the Bible that presents a world governed by decree, not chance. The difference between determinism and fatalism matters here; God's providence is not random drift but personal purpose. We also wrestle with how we speak. Doctrine without mercy can bruise, as Job's friends prove. So we aim for a posture that refuses theological trend-chasing yet remains patient with honest questions. We reject arguments built on silence and return to the analogy of faith, letting scripture interpret scripture instead of bending it to modern tastes. The through-line is clear: the Bible prepares us for judgment and points us to the only safe place to stand—under the mediation of Christ, who saves to the uttermost. If you value hard truths handled with care, this conversation is for you. Listen, take notes, test every claim in the Word, and share it with someone who needs clarity today. Send us a textEver been told “just be a good person” and felt the bar shift under your feet? We take aim at fuzzy standards of goodness and trace the question back to its source: if only God is truly good, then reconciliation with Him must start on His terms, not ours. That frame sets up a bracing walk through Job 11, where Zophar offers a correct-sounding remedy with a disastrously wrong diagnosis—and where many of us still stumble when we slap generic answers on specific pain.We talk candidly about doctrinal drift and the subtle ways people keep the Christian label while sanding down hard edges like judgment, hell, and the narrow gate. Not to sensationalize, but to restore clarity: eternity matters because the One we offend is eternal, and separation from Him isn't a metaphor to update away. Then we go practical and pastoral. On the mission field, a mother at a children's hospital believes her child's illness is punishment. Prosperity slogans offer quick fixes. We counter with a richer hope: Jesus heals bodies and forgives sins, and He cares most for the soul. That reorders our prayers, our counsel, and our courage.Job's story becomes a map for empathy. Zophar assumes sin; God is doing something deeper. We learn why right truth misapplied can harm, and why real ministry refuses to say “go research it” when we should say “let's walk through this together.” Along the way, testimonies of illness, fear, and steadfast faith reveal how suffering often becomes the very path God uses to answer prayers for trust and maturity. The result isn't theory—it's worship. A live song and closing prayer gather our hearts around the God who gives, who takes, who keeps, and who never wastes our tears. If you're wrestling with pain, doctrine, or doubt, lean in. Subscribe, share this with a friend who needs steady hope, and leave a review with the one question about suffering you want us to tackle next.Support the showBE PROVOKED AND BE PERSUADED!

We then assess Arsenal's chances of winning silverware, with Darragh arguing that only the league title matters, while Arsenal fan Scarlett highlights the importance of securing a domestic cup.Next, with just four home wins in this calendar year, we ask whether Spurs are still worthy of the ‘big six' tag. Tottenham fan Cam joins us to discuss the highs and lows of 2025, including a Europa League triumph and a 17th-place league finish last season. And finally, Patson Daka may have a sore head this morning after an acrobatic celebration went wrong at AFCON. Send us a textWhat if the hardest day of your life was still held inside a sovereign hand? We walk through Job's losses and move past clichés to the unsettling, stabilizing truth that God gives and God takes away—and that nothing catches him off guard. From there, we face head-on the doctrines many sidestep: God's providence over calamity, the justice that isn't an escape hatch, and the quiet heroism of faithfulness when no visible answers appear. As the conversation widens, we confront the surge of confusion parading under a Christian label. When words like Jesus, gospel, and Spirit are reused to mean something else, discernment becomes survival. We talk about guarding the inputs that shape your mind, recognizing unequal yokes in pulpits and podcasts, and refusing to bear with a different gospel. The antidote is not a new prophet or fresh revelation; it's the old path of Scripture read deeply, prayed slowly, and lived honestly. Milk-to-meat growth looks like whole chapters instead of proof-texts, context that deflates pride, and a steady diet of truth strong enough to weather apostasy. We also insist that every believer is called to teach—children, friends, coworkers—with a reasonable hope and a clear reason. That requires training your tongue through your eyes and ears: study, test, and be ready to explain. Along the way, we contrast being right with knowing God's heart, pushing past the thrill of winning arguments to the joy of being transformed. If you've felt tossed by mixed messages or weary of spiritual shortcuts, this conversation will ground you in the sufficiency of Christ and the reliability of his word.If this resonates, follow the show, share it with a friend who needs clarity, and leave a review so more people can find solid, Scripture-centered conversations.Support the showBE PROVOKED AND BE PERSUADED!
Send us a textWhat if your spiritual life changed simply by choosing to read full chapters and refusing to “freestyle” your theology? We gather for a frank, heartfelt dive into diligent study, honest prayer, and a community ethic that values preparation over performance. From the opening moments, we explore why context renews conviction, how the classic means of grace still form us, and why “I don't know” can be the most faithful answer in the room.Humility becomes the backbone of the conversation. We talk about the sting of being wrong, the pride that pushes us to invent answers, and the strength that shows when we submit our views to Scripture and accept correction. That honesty doesn't water down truth—it sharpens it. With Job as our anchor, we trace God's sovereignty through suffering and learn to look for Christ across the canon, letting the Old and New Testaments illuminate one another. The aim isn't hot takes; it's durable wisdom that steadies us when trials arrive. We also challenge a common trap: reshaping God to fit our preferences. Instead, we wrestle with hard doctrines and trust the Spirit to train our discernment. Along the way, we celebrate the ordinary graces of community—voices in the chat, children in the background, friends who keep us accountable. You'll leave with practical guidance for study, a renewed reverence for Scripture, and a vision for fellowship that builds people up rather than tears them down. If you've been longing for depth, clarity, and honest encouragement, this conversation will meet you where you are and call you higher. If this resonated, follow the show, share it with a friend who loves the Word, and leave a quick review telling us what truth challenged you most.Support the showBE PROVOKED AND BE PERSUADED!
Send us a textWhat if your hardest season isn't proof of secret sin but a canvas for God's wisdom and will? We open Job 9 and sit with a hard truth: no one stands against God and prospers, and no one stands before Him justified by personal merit. Job's friends read his losses like moral receipts; Job answers with humility and a high view of God that dismantles shallow formulas about pain, righteousness, and reward. We trace the thread from Job's confession—God is wise in heart and mighty in strength—to the larger theology of sovereignty that runs through Scripture. Affliction, in this story, doesn't begin with Job's failure but with a heavenly challenge that exposes transactional faith. That tension unlocks a better way to think about suffering, sanctification, and the limits of our judgments. We also press into language that often confuses listeners: salvation as a gift received rather than a deal accepted. Drawing on Romans 5 and Romans 9, we explore how perseverance grows in tribulation, why no one resists God's will, and how mercy remains mercy only when it is not owed. You'll hear practical counsel for comforting the hurting without weaponizing doctrine, along with reminders to guard study spaces from fruitless quarrels. Expect a sober, hope-filled journey that prizes humility, clarity, and Scripture over speculation. If you've ever been misread in your pain—or tempted to read someone else's story with too little light—this conversation offers firmer ground to stand on and gentler words to share. If this helped you see suffering and grace with fresh eyes, follow the show, share it with a friend who needs encouragement, and leave a review so others can find it too.Support the showBE PROVOKED AND BE PERSUADED!
Send us a textA voice of gratitude opens the door to a fierce and tender conversation about sovereignty, reverence, and the hope that steadies a trembling world. We take the dance-of-free-will metaphor seriously—seeing our choices not as rivals to God's will but as responses to the music He sets. Then we step into Job 9, where mountains move, stars are sealed, and the sun itself halts at the command of the Lord. That cosmic canvas reframes everything: salvation as God's eternal design, awe as the proper posture of the heart, and urgency as the honest response to a grace we could never earn.Together, we challenge the drift toward casual faith. After the resurrection, believers called Him Lord for a reason—and our language today still reveals our posture. Reverence isn't stiffness; it's clarity, confession, and joy in the truth. We talk about why titles matter, how worship shapes behavior, and what it looks like to correct each other with patience and Scripture. Along the way, voices from the panel speak to desire transformed by grace, compassion for those who mock, and the courage to hold firm without becoming harsh. The message is firm but warm: fear of God deepens love for people.Job's words—God passes by and we do not perceive Him—become both warning and comfort. Nothing is hidden from His sight, and no step is taken outside His presence. That reality doesn't crush us; it anchors us. We finish with the name that stills our restlessness: I AM. Whatever the trial, He is sufficient. If you're hungry for a faith that trembles and trusts, worships and obeys, this study will meet you where you are and call you higher. If this resonated, subscribe, share it with a friend who needs courage today, and leave a review so more listeners can find the study. This room finally feels like home, so of course we had to kick things off with a topic that every lady golfer can relate to: the man who got you into golf. In Celebrate Recovery, we no doubt learned that boundaries and guidelines are essential to keeping us on the right track. Whether it's the small group guidelines, following the DNA or other leadership components, practicing keeping our ministry safe is important. However, how can legalism and becoming the security guard, hinder the healing process and break connection from us and others that God has called us to lead? In this episode, Rodney Holmstrom, Global Field Director of Celebrate Recovery, will unpack this important topic to help us lean into Grace versus rigidity and rules that separates us from the important connections in our life.
Pastor Mark concludes this series about the obstacles that hinder our spiritual lives with the emphasis on doubt and unbelief and neglect of spiritual disciplines that will lead us down a wrong road.
In this message, Pastor Caleb discusses the walls of Jericho that are fortified in the lives of God's people, but victory can be obtained if His people do not hinder its destruction. Sometimes Christians use their mouths to recreate the bricks for the walls of Jericho, even when they should be marching around its walls. May God's people obey His instructions and receive the victory God has for them. Do not hinder the walls of Jericho from falling.

In today's episode, host Travis Shelton shares his controversial perspective about how the mission should matter more than the money. As artists, we often demand so much from ourselves—long nights, endless rehearsals, constant creating—without realizing that our bodies need proper fuel to keep up with our vision. Nutrient deficiencies can creep in quietly, leaving us drained, unfocused, and even emotionally unsteady, which directly impacts our production and creative drive. But the good news is, when we take care of our health—whether through better nutrition, rest, or mindful habits—we unlock deeper energy, sharper focus, and stronger resilience. Today is day 225 and we are studying A Rule of Prayer: Scripture, Prayer, and Worship. 225. What can hinder your regular prayers? My prayers may be hindered by many things, such as lethargy or loss, selfishness or sin, distractions or difficulties, or seasons of spiritual dryness. With God's help, a rule of prayer strengthens me to overcome all these. (1 Kings 19:1–18; Psalm 116; Matthew 26:36–46; Luke 20:45–47; Romans 8:22–27) We will conclude today with the Collect for The Fourth Sunday in Advent found on page 599 of the Book of Common Prayer (2019). If you would like to buy or download To Be a Christian, head to anglicanchurch.net/catechism. Produced by Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Madison, MS. Original music from Matthew Clark. Will The Diddy Verdict Hinder More Victims From Coming Forward? DESCRIPTION: When high-profile cases like Sean “Diddy” Combs end with silence, dismissal, or inaction, the consequences stretch far beyond the defendant. In this compelling episode, Eric Faddis, a seasoned defense attorney and former prosecutor, unpacks how the handling of the Diddy allegations might deter future victims from ever stepping forward. This isn't just about one man. It's about the chilling effect of celebrity-driven justice: the message it sends to survivors, the fear it instills in witnesses, and the public backlash that often greets those who dare to speak up. Faddis digs into how media bias, influencer loyalty, and the normalization of abuse within power structures can create an atmosphere where victims are silenced before they even speak. Do verdicts like this fuel more silence? Does celebrity status come with an unspoken immunity clause? And is the legal system truly equipped—or even willing—to confront icons with blood on their hands? If you're looking for honest, intelligent analysis with real-world consequences, this is the conversation you need to hear. #Hashtags: #DiddyVerdict #VictimSilence #EricFaddis #SurvivorJustice #CelebrityScandal #HiddenKillers #TrueCrimeDiscussion #LegalCulture #MeTooMovement #JusticeDelayed Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video?
