**Clay Edwards Show – Episode 1,205** Clay opens the show on a somber note, paying tribute to his young neighbor Noah, who tragically drowned in a Brandon lake over the weekend. He shares heartfelt reflections on regret, guardian angels, and the pain no parent should ever face, asking listeners to keep the family in their prayers. He then recaps a massive weekend at Pearl Day in Pearl, where nearly 15,000 people turned out for Hinder and Daughtry. Clay announces he's personally funding concert ticket giveaways all summer long, kicking things off with **three pairs of field-level tickets** (valued at $500+ each) to Zach Bryan next Saturday night in Starkville at Davis-Wade Stadium. Clay dives into Jackson culture rot with a disturbing Fondren grocery store assault on a 76-year-old woman, calling out the lack of situational awareness, community response, and the broader breakdown that allows this kind of violence in public spaces. In hour two, Andrew Gasser joins Clay for a no-holds-barred discussion on the latest assassination attempt on President Trump at the White House Correspondents Dinner. They play a two-and-a-half-minute montage of Democrats openly calling for political violence, then shift to the Baton Rouge mall shooting that claimed the life of an innocent 17-year-old girl during senior skip day. Governor Landry's fiery comments on failed “thug policies,” soft-on-crime judges, and the need for real accountability dominate the conversation. They also expose radical ideology in public schools after Clay reveals a transgender flag and United Nations flag hanging in a Clinton High School classroom, warning that this kind of indoctrination is melting young minds and accelerating the culture rot. Unfiltered, no sugar added reality radio at its finest.
**Clay Edwards Show – Pearl Day 2026 Recap** Clay kicks off the show recapping an absolute banger of a weekend at Pearl Day in Pearl, Mississippi. Nearly **15,000 people** packed the venue for a massive rock night featuring Hinder and Daughtry putting on high-energy, full-production sets that had the entire crowd singing every word. Clay says he never expected heavy rock to headline Pearl Day, but Daughtry's new darker, heavier sound blew him away and proved the event is leveling up. He gives a huge shout-out to the City of Pearl for trusting him and his brand to help promote the show, and already confirms they're locking in **more rock and roll** for Pearl Day 2027. Perfect weather, huge turnout, killer performances — it was exactly the kind of night that reminds Clay why he loves live music almost as much as doing this show. Unfiltered, no sugar added reality radio at its finest.
**Clay Edwards Show – Episode 1201** Clay opens the show hyping Pearl Day 2026 this Saturday at Trustmark Park — a big free concert with Daughtry and Hinder. Gates open at 5:30 PM, Hinder starts at 7:00 PM, and Daughtry around 8:45 PM. He then goes hard on Jackson City Council President Brian Brazil for proposing a 180-day moratorium on new data centers in Jackson, calling it classic grandstanding and “little brother syndrome.” Clay points out that no major data centers are even planned for Jackson while Richland and Madison are landing billions in investment, and he mocks the liberal buzzword salad in the proposal (“disproportionate environmental burdens on vulnerable neighborhoods”). **Hour 1: Kingfish from Jackson Jambalaya** Kingfish joins Clay by phone for a deep dive into the Mississippi ABC liquor distribution disaster. They break down the massive backlogs, empty shelves at stores across the state, small businesses forced to cut hours or lay off employees, and the contractor Ruan sending self-congratulatory emails while claiming progress. Clay calls out the destruction of small businesses and demands real action instead of excuses. **Hour 2: Andrew Gasser** Andrew Gasser joins Clay in the studio. They discuss Tucker Carlson's recent “mask off” comments where he expressed regret for supporting Trump, accused him of low character, and dove into Israel-related issues, donor influence (Miriam Adelson), assassination attempts, and what he called “Israel derangement syndrome.” They unpack single-issue politics, antisemitism debates, foreign policy distractions, and why some people are letting overseas issues override what's happening on American soil. Unfiltered, no sugar added reality radio. **The Clay Edwards Show – Episode 1201**

Russian President Vladimir Putin has criticized U.S.-Israeli attacks on Iran, saying they have disrupted efforts to achieve a peaceful resolution of the Iranian nuclear issue.
In this episode of The Clay Edwards Show, host Clay Edwards shares hilarious stories from his weekend on the coast, including a fan chasing him down in Ocean Springs mistaking him for "Chad" and a generous older lady at the Hard Rock handing out gifts like candles and socks. He reflects on the show's broad appeal and thanks listeners for joining a high school dropout turned expert on Democrat death culture as he rants about politics and culture. Clay gives the State of the Union a perfect 10/10, calling it the most presidential and longest ever, with highlights like honoring a 100-year-old WWII pilot who survived the longest dogfight in U.S. history against Russian pilots—a secret until 2002. He blasts Democrats for not standing during tributes to heroes and victims of crimes by illegal immigrants, spotlighting antics from Al Green (with his misspelled "Black People Aren't Apes" sign turning into "Black People Rent Apes") and Squad members disruptively chanting. Clay proposes an annual awards show for military, first responders, and civilian heroes to inspire patriotism over celebrity events. The show heats up with callers debating disrespect at the SOTU, racism accusations, and liberal policies, leading to fiery rants on taking the country back, human trafficking ties to politicians like the Maine governor, and imperfect biblical figures. Clay addresses a controversial caller offended by his language, defending authenticity and fed-up conservatism. He announces Pearl Day 2026 on April 25 with free performances by Daughtry and Hinder, and debates Sunday liquor sales in Mississippi, advocating for freedom while noting some stores' concerns. The episode wraps with Clay explaining his social media reset, trusting divine guidance, and teasing more unfiltered talk ahead.

https://teachhoops.com/ The debate over youth player rankings in the AAU circuit is one of the most polarizing topics in modern basketball development. On one hand, proponents argue that rankings provide exposure and a competitive benchmark, helping talented athletes get on the radar of college recruiters earlier than ever before. For a player in a rural area or a non-traditional basketball market, a high ranking from a reputable scouting service can be the "digital resume" that opens doors to elite camps and scholarship opportunities. However, the "Helpful" side of the ledger often ignores the reality that early physical maturity is frequently mistaken for long-term elite potential, leading to a "false positive" ranking for a player who has simply hit their growth spurt sooner than their peers. The "Harmful" perspective focuses on the psychological and developmental "Rot" that occurs when 12- and 13-year-olds are labeled as "elite" before they've even entered high school. Rankings often incentivize "stat-padding" and individualistic play over the development of "Basketball IQ" and fundamental team concepts. When a young player is more concerned with their "National Top 100" status than winning a game or making the "extra pass," the foundational "Culture of the Game" begins to erode. Furthermore, being ranked early can lead to a "fixed mindset"—a belief that they have already "made it"—which often results in a plateau in work ethic during the critical developmental years of 14 to 17. Ultimately, the impact of rankings depends heavily on the parental and coaching ecosystem surrounding the athlete. If a ranking is treated as a "Starting Line" rather than a "Finish Line," it can be a tool for motivation. However, in the high-pressure environment of "shoe-circuit" AAU tournaments, rankings often serve as a distraction from true skill acquisition. Use your TeachHoops member calls to discuss how to navigate these "Ranking Waters" with your players and parents. By shifting the focus back to "Process over Praise," you can ensure that your athletes stay grounded, hungry, and focused on the only ranking that truly matters: their progress compared to the player they were yesterday. In Episode 339, Kestrel welcomes Beth Jensen, the Chief Impact Officer at Textile Exchange, to the show. Leading the organization's efforts to achieve beneficial climate and nature impacts, Beth oversees key functions at Textile Exchange including impact data and Life Cycle Assessment studies; impact tools and reporting mechanisms; reports and research; fundraising; and public affairs/policy. "A big part of vulnerability is really admitting that you don't have all the answers. So in sustainability, in fashion, apparel, and textile space, this is just the way we have to operate. If you said you had all the answers, you wouldn't be taken seriously in this space … What you present as data might change the next time you present it because you have new and better information. You just have to be able to work in the gray and really take the best available information and make informed decisions based on that information." -Beth THEME — DATA & FASHION: METHODS & ACCESS Before we dive in, I want to take a moment to remind us all that FASHION IS POLITICAL. Whenever a big politically-charged moment arises in the U.S., there is this narrative I see creeping around that expects fashion (brands, designers, creators, etc) to stay silent on quote unquote political issues – that fashion should stay in its so-called lane, detached from the world around it. Here's the thing – FASHION IS POLITICAL. It always has been and it always will be. It doesn't exist in its own little vacuum. If you care about the fashion industry, and its impact on people and the planet, it's imminent to pay attention and engage in so-called politics, because it's entirely interconnected. Just to mention a few of these significant overlaps – The origins of the fashion industry in the United States – cotton grown by Black enslaved folks who were forced to immigrate – is political. The way clothing supply chains operate – predominantly spread across the Global South where our clothes are made by mostly women of color, who are often paid less than a living wage – is political. How certain materials permeate the fashion industry – fossil fuel-derived fibers AKA plastic. While other natural fibers were historically made illegal to grow AKA hemp – is political. The largest garment manufacturing city in the U.S. is Los Angeles, employing over 46,000 garment workers, most of whom are immigrant women from Mexico and Central America. L.A. is the wage theft capital of the U.S., with the average hourly wage being $5.85 (Labor Violations In The LA Garment Industry, Garment Worker Center, 2020) The institutionalized violent origins of ICE as well as the continued horrific acts they have made toward immigrants and nonimmigrants, fellow members of our communities – is political. As Faherty called it in their recent IG post – systemic inhumanity affects us all – our families, friends, colleagues, neighbors and communities, and that is political. If you try to separate fashion from politics, clothing from humans, it's impossible. Clothing is made by people who are integral members of our communities and valued creatives along the supply chain. We must advocate for our fellow community members and the safety of our neighbors. This is the second episode is a 2-part series dedicated to DATA IN FASHION. While many of you may already have an understanding of these elements, I think they are important to reframe and contextualize the following conversation. The fashion industry and the so-called sustainable fashion space has a concerning history with data. The so-called stat – fashion is the 2nd largest polluter globally, second only to oil – unfortunately spread like wildfire before it was found to be unsubstantiated – in 2017, journalist Alden Wicker brought this to light in an article on Racked, and the NY Times did a deep dive into it the following year, calling it the "biggest fake news in fashion". It's clear that the fashion industry has a massive impact on the earth and its inhabitants – it's an industry that not only thrives with models of overproduction and waste, it also prioritizes synthetic fossil fuel-derived materials like polyester. But, considering how long this inaccurate claim was utilized by the sustainability and fashion realm (to note, I still see it used today and often have to send articles to folks to remind them that it was never substantiated) – I guess, it becomes challenging for fashion to be taken seriously in the greater climate conversation. Being that fashion is one of the most underregulated industries – I know this is shifting with more policy coming into play, but it's slow. This has further reduced the amount of data collected from brands, because it hasn't been required. As you can tell, data, fashion and sustainability have a complex history. This week's guest understands this reality, and is pushing to shift the narrative through her work with Textile Exchange. But it's a tricky task, when for her, a lack of data shouldn't prevent us from taking action. "Without having data to underpin statements about something working toward reducing impact or creating beneficial impact, there's really nothing for those statements to stand on. Now the challenge there is making sure that we're striking the right balance of not letting perfect data get in the way of doing the work that we need to do to improve practices and create beneficial outcomes for the industry." -Beth Materials Market Report 2025 (Press Release) Paper on Ensuring Integrity in the Use of Life Cycle Assessment Data (Press Release) Industry Reports Library Life Cycle Inventory (LCI) Library Follow Textile Exchange on Instagram

Our days are shaped by rules and regulations. The expiry date stamped on the sandwich we picked up for lunch. The charge for the plastic bag at the checkout. The banner that asks if we consent to cookies. There's the big stuff too. The security checks before we fly, the safety marks on our new tech and the seatbelt we click into place without thinking. But despite its ubiquity, regulation sparks mixed feelings. While some rules feel reassuring, others feel restrictive. When done right, regulation can be a catalyst for societal progress and economic growth. It can unlock markets, enforce ethical standards, and build trust. It can also bring challenges too, adding layers of frustration, cost, and complexity to new ideas and initiatives. With governments now demanding that regulators actively support growth, there's an opportunity to reimagine regulation. Can it be designed to stimulate, rather than stifle, innovation? Is there a way to keep the societal benefits and skip the unnecessary challenges? Or do we simply need to improve our approach and understanding to regulation – and prepare for more of it in the future? That's what we're exploring with Rob Bishton, CEO of the Civil Aviation Authority, and Sam Walsh, Partner and UK Public Sector Regulation Lead at Deloitte, as we ask: Does regulation help or hinder growth? Tune in to find out: What does successful regulation look like? Does new regulation only ever occur after a crisis? How can regulation stay ahead of new and emerging industries? What can businesses do to prepare for future regulatory changes? Enjoyed this episode? In Celebrate Recovery, we no doubt learned that boundaries and guidelines are essential to keeping us on the right track. Whether it's the small group guidelines, following the DNA or other leadership components, practicing keeping our ministry safe is important. However, how can legalism and becoming the security guard, hinder the healing process and break connection from us and others that God has called us to lead? In this episode, Rodney Holmstrom, Global Field Director of Celebrate Recovery, will unpack this important topic to help us lean into Grace versus rigidity and rules that separates us from the important connections in our life.
