    Have you started down a traditional career path and wondered about your impact and level of satisfaction? You need to hear this episode! Welcome, Grace Belew, a careworker, breathwork facilitator, Mindful Practice teacher and mental health advocate. Early in her career, she served clients living in shelter housing for women experiencing intimate partner violence. She began to make changes and build practices based on her client's identities, experiences and specific needs. She found this created a better space for healing work and thus began a change in the course of her career. Grace has her B.A. in Human Development from Michigan State University and an MSW, focusing on Clinical Mental Health from the University of Maryland. She currently serves the public school system and county government in the D.C. area consulting on mental health programming and teaching weekly meditation and breathwork classes.     15. Finding where to belong in this world with Amina Mohamed

    Have you ever woken up in the middle of the night and exclaimed ‘I know what I want to do with my life'? Well, that's exactly what happened to Amina. And if you're thinking that would be nice and I wish it happened to me in my 20s so then I'd be set, that's not how it happened to Amina either. It happened after living in Canada for 50 years, coming here as a refugee, after being married for 20 years, after adopting a child, after going through periods of depression, after a successful 15-year career in the television and film industry. So there's still time. Listen to her story and how she came to create her business, Cameras for Girls, in 2018 empowering women in Uganda. Amina Mohamed has always had a passion for photography. She spent fifteen years exploring this passion while working in film and television as a producer and production manager on numerous movies and documentaries. In 2018, she started a for-profit travel business, Triple F Photo Tours and an initiative called Cameras For Girls, which was granted charity status in 2021. Through Cameras For Girls, her mission is to teach photography and business skills to marginalized females across Africa who endeavour to become journalists. She gives them a camera to keep and a 4-phase program that empowers them to find paid work and escape poverty. She has taught 32 young women via an in-person workshop in Uganda and 10 women online in South Africa, and 55% now have full-time jobs. Amina most recently returned to Uganda this past June 2022 to resume the in-person workshop for CFG.     Our guest for this episode is Theodora Lindsey. She shares with us how meditation supports her in every day life and helped her work through a traumatic past. After being a caregiver for many years, she realized she was leaving herself behind. She shows us the impact of being able to listen to yourself and how committment and intentionality can impact your relationship to self and others.  Theodora specializes in delivering guided meditation on her wellness retreats. She shares with us her experiences with grief and supporting her husband, Brian, with ALS for 10 years.  Jennifer Parker is an ever-evolving woman still figuring out her way in this world. After spending 20 years in a cubicle, she walked away from a successful career to provide around the clock care for her late husband who was diagnosed with ALS in 2011. She currently works for a non-profit organization that supports others going through a similar journey, with lofty goals of building a better network of resources and knowledge for families touched by ALS in the Atlanta, Georgia area and beyond. Jennifer also runs an Etsy shop, is a beekeeper, and writes openly about her experiences on a variety of platforms in hopes of helping others.     Our guest for this episode is Tiffany Burns. She shares with us her experiences with grief and loss, and how to continue connections with those who have died. Six years after losing her mom to brain cancer, Tiffany was still grieving and figuring out how to navigate her life. That's when she found something called River Writing, where you listen to poetry, write, and share with each other. It's not just the writing, but the sharing and connection, that make River Writing unique. Our stories may be vastly different but our points of connection are abundant. Tiffany started the On Behalf of Dean project to honour her younger brother, who passed away at the age of 27, with random acts of kindness.  Tiffany is passionate about reading, live music, hiking, and spending time with friends and family.     Our guest for this episode is the Founder & Executive Director of Divine Equine Assisted Therapy Center in Santa Cruz, California, Kristy Newstrom. Kristy felt a deep affinity with horses since pre-school and has worked professionally with children for 20+ years earning the nickname,  "The Child Whisperer". When she was introduced to therapeutic riding in 2015, Kristy was immediately called to dedicate her future to being in service through equine therapy. Since that initial spark of inspiration, Kristy volunteered at various centers for riders with special needs, received formal training in western and English riding, and completed an accelerated program to become a PATH certified instructor. Kristy immediately began teaching and supporting students with functional diversity. With a grand vision of being intentionally inclusive and serving broader and more diverse populations, Kristy began her efforts towards creating her own Center.
