I challenge you to explore how you can get quiet and practice the 4 processes of emotional agility that she writes about in Chapter 1. I invite you to imagine what life would be like if you only did the actions that led you to be the "you" you want to be! What would life be like if you weren't escaping, numbing, or ignoring the valuable information our emotions provide? What happens when two coaches who work with strengths get together? It's a strengthsfest! We end up coaching each other, talking about motivation and much more! We also talk a lot about the nuances and intentionality of using strengths to be our best selves! Actually, Liz Goulding is an incredible coach who works with a framework called Strengths Profile; she coached me through mine, helping me make a lot of sense out of the parts of me that are important and work well! And, she helped me recognize the parts that don't bring me light and life, which is critical information too. You can find out more about working with Liz and sign up for her amazing newsletter/emails on her website. As humans, we crave certainty, and this need to be sure leads us to black and white thinking in a world where many answers lie in the gray. How can we live with less stress and more joy? I believe that it's by building the belief and confidence in ourselves that we can handle uncertainty and navigate any challenges that come our way. In this mini-episode I talk about how we can normalize the gray, find strategies through our strengths, and explore mindfulness practices like tapping, described here on this free site, The Tapping Solution. As always, I welcome and appreciate your feedback! Please leave a review, make a comment, or send me a voice message! In this episode I have the pleasure of talking with one of my mentors, Allegra Stein, Certified YouMap Coach and creator of the community for coaches, Misfit to Maverick. We talk about how we understand strengths, values and the way they work together, as well as what happens when we can notice the shadow sides of our strengths without judgement. We talk a bit about the mystery of motivation: How Allegra has bravely built a new routine, flipping upside down hanging from a hoop, practicing Lyra every Saturday, yet finds a regular yoga practice to be elusive, (so far)! It's a fun chat that lets you peek into the world of coaching through strengths! Follow Allegra on Instagram as well!. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/joan-young/message
