March Madness talk... in September!? Hard to believe, but we are already at the halfway point between March Madnesses right now, which means John has a hankering for examining data. What are some of the trends for previous March Madnesses? What are some of the things that have shown up multiple years? Which figures have and haven't been made? We also talk a little about the recently revealed Obi-Wan Kenobi vs Darth Vader "Showdown" 2-pack and some of the doors the tooling for the Obi-Wan could help us open moving forward. It's not like Evan was counting the days until this pack would be revealed... right? Even though the @SWTVC was unable to attend San Diego Comic-Con this year, Hasbro was kind enough to invite us to still participate in the convention hype and chat with Hasbro Star Wars' very own Chris Reiff. We chat a little about the pipeline, fan engagement, some QC issues, as well as [obviously] THE GHOST! Some really good nuggets in this interview, and thanks again to Hasbro and R&CPMK for making this possible. As always, #keep375alive, #gettheghost and may the Force be with you!
So apparently there's a new TVC HasLab debuting at San Diego Comic Con this Friday... We'll find out in March. But spoiler alert: all of those hashtags are properly represented on Lewis' list! Make sure you're following us on Instagram (@SWTVC) and join in on all the March Madness fun!
Today, join John (@thevintageconcepts) on a special mini-episode of The SWTVC Podcast as he guides you through his own personal list of most-wanted TVC figures. A wise man once said "TVC has all the fun." Oh, wait, maybe 'wise' isn't the correct word... On this episode, Evan (@milehighground) is joined by John (@thevintageconcepts), Lewis (@spacehutt), and Tyler (@swcollector3.75) to run down the reveals from PulseCon earlier this month, try not to take out their frustrations on each other, think about the future, and try not to totally lose sight of HAPPY BEEPS! Disclaimer: this episode was recorded a day or two before @yak_face opened the rumor mill floodgates, but... even then, our general angst still may be a tad justified. For a perfect pairing, make sure not to miss the @bossksbounty 150th Episode on Tim's YouTube page, as it was recorded a mere hour after we did this episode. As always, #keep375alive and may the Force be with you.
After last week's Hasbro PulseCon 2022, Hasbro invited @SWTVC to join their roundtable Q&A sessions this week to ask some questions about PulseCon reveals and the state of the line. There's a cameo appearance from RebelScum (their question led to a really great little nugget about a certain underserved animated series), as well some pretty good answers from Chris and Jing from the Hasbro Star Wars brand team. Catch the FULL VIDEO of our session on @SWTVC on YouTube, and join in the discussion on Instagram! As always, #keep375alive and may the Force be with you.
This week, Evan (@milehighground) and John (@thevintageconcepts) sit down and chat about the previous years of Hasbro's PulseCon and what we can maybe expect from this weekend's virtual event. Keeping expectations in check is always difficult, especially in times that feel uncertain when it comes to our chosen hobby, but remember: rebellions are built on hope. What do you hope to see Hasbro reveal for TVC at this weekend's PulseCon? Join the discussion in the comments below! As always, #keep375alive and may the Force be with you!
For decades, Star Wars lived on in the form of novels and comic books, building an immersive "expanded universe" beyond what we saw in the films. Even with the canon reset in 2014, the publishing side of Star Wars is just as important as ever in further fleshing out the timeline of our beloved galaxy far, far away. Hasbro used to visit the "expanded universe" well fairly frequently once upon a time, and seem more than happy to pad out the variety of offerings in The Black Series 6" line these days. We must ask: what about TVC? Evan and John sat down this week to chat about these "publishing greats" and how we'd like to see them handled in the modern era of 3.75" collecting, as well as what we'd specifically like to see as well. Let's #balancethescaleshasbro, shall we?
We've got vehicles on the brain this month, and we think you should too! Join Evan, John, and Lewis (with a surprise roundup from Tyler) as we cover vehicle offerings in other lines, how TVC and 3.75" is faring on that front, and give you a new term to better describe the joy of toys! What is "whooshability," you ask? Listen to find out!
In this mega-length episode, the SWTVC team reconvenes after quite some time apart to chat about new arrivals and the new reveals that came out of SDCC. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll try and figure out what a "stampo" is, and you'll be livid none of us remembered the name of the planet Sorgan. Be sure you're subscribed to The SWTVC Podcast on your favorite podcast provider, and join in the conversation in the comments below!
