Summer is right around the corner which means you are probably planning your summer vacations with loved ones. Ditch the family vacation to the amusement parks this year and take the family on a road trip in a recreational vehicle or camper! Here are 5 reasons to vacation in an RV: 1. Cost-effective travel. According to Bankrate's Summer Vacation Survey, 47% of Americans chose not to go on a summer vacation in 2024—65% citing affordability as the reason. One of the biggest vacation costs is transportation, which includes airfare, car rental, parking fees, gas, etc. Now factor in the cost of a hotel room and food on your vacation, and the costs really add up. When you vacation in an RV, your transportation and place to sleep are rolled into one which helps cut down on costs. Plus, RVs have small kitchen areas included to stock up on food staples before you begin your trip. Instead of eating out for every meal, you can cook some meals in your RV and lower your total vacation costs. 2. Flexibility. Gone are the days of booking a vacation based on the cheapest flights or hotels. RVs give you increased flexibility because when you are traveling and staying in your own mode of transportation, you are not locked down to specific dates and times for vacation. There's also flexibility if something occurs and you need to delay your vacation by a week. You don't need to worry about changing flights or booking new accommodations because you are traveling in your own mode of transportation. 3. Bring Your Pets. Another pro of vacationing in an RV is being able to bring your pets along. Instead of asking your friends or family to take care of them, or even paying to have someone look after them, you can take them along as travel companions. Not only is this a good choice for your finances, but it also provides peace of mind so you can spend your vacation relaxing instead of worrying about how your pets are doing without you. 4. Privacy and Comfort. Why would you want to squeeze into the middle seat of an airplane when an alternative is being able to stretch out in the sleeping area, sit in the dining area enjoying a meal or even using the private bathroom while traveling to your destination. When it comes to sleeping, you have the security of having your own space which can help you feel safer than an AirBnB when in an unfamiliar place. Plus, you can tow your own car behind your RV; that way if you want to explore each destination a little deeper, you can do so in your own car and can avoid a rental car. 5. Bring Home with You Wherever You Go. Another benefit of vacationing in an RV is bringing and using what is most familiar to you. We've all had a terrible night stay at a hotel while on vacation because the pillow just wasn't right or the blanket was too rough. When you vacation in an RV, you can bring your own pillows and blankets (among other things) with you for those comforts of home. RVs provide more storage space as well which means you aren't confined to just what you can pack in a suitcase. In addition to more clothes, shoes, and bedding, RVs offer the opportunity to bring other things you can use on your vacation. Maybe you have bicycles or kayaks that you want to use when exploring your new destination; if so, you can bring these along with you when you have the space in an RV! Today Ali is talking to Libby Wicks, a surrogacy mama who went through a five-plus year struggle to have her baby girl. Libby talks about her not one, but two ectopic pregnancies, her emergency tube removal, and being diagnosed (wrongly, she would find out much later) with Asherman's Syndrome. She also talks about IVF and how her infertility journey affected her mental health. "I was suffering from anxiety," she says. "There were many days I wasn't able to leave the house. I wasn't able to work, and it was absolutely devastating. I was a shell of myself. And I want other women to know that that is actually normal." Libby talks about pivoting to surrogacy and finding NewGen Families, which is known for their thoughtful matches and their empathetic and expert care when it comes to both surrogates and future parents. She talks about bonding with her surrogate, the group text she had with her husband and her surrogate; and after going through so much heartache, finally bringing home her baby girl. For more, follow them on IG @newgenfamiliesOr go to: https://newgenfamilies.comTOPICS COVERED IN THIS EPISODE: Infertility; TTC; ectopic pregnancies; trauma; IVF; normalizing the conversation around ART; anxiety and depression; Asherman's syndrome; surrogacySupport this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/infertile-af/donationsEPISODE SPONSORS:WORK OF ARTAli's Children's Book about IVF and Assisted Reproductive Technologyhttps://www.infertileafgroup.com/booksDo not miss Ali's children's book about IVF! The city of Los Angeles is set to host the 2028 Summer Olympics. And despite still being many years away, the individual athletes and teams are well on their way in terms of training—hoping to get that gold medal around their necks.Part of the reason it matters is because aside from individual achievement, the medal count is a real point of pride for every country. In fact, during the Olympic Games, almost every news media keeps a running total on its front page of how many medals each country has won.In 2024, the USA won the overall medal count. Our athletes earned a total of 126 medals—35 more medals than second place China. But, if you only look at gold medals, we actually tied with China, with both countries getting 40.That might be good enough for some, but in 2028, we as a country should accept nothing less than complete victory. That means American athletes need to step it up to win as many gold medals as possible. To that end, we should discuss a sport that American athletes are having difficulty competing in: racewalking. At the Paris Olympics, no American athletes qualified to compete. Not only did no Americans win, we failed to even qualify to compete. However, many people don't know that besides racewalking being one of the longest-running (pun intended) events held in modern-era Olympics, the sport was allegedly also the most popular in the United States at the end of the 19th century—only to have its popularity completely fall off a cliff. In order to make sense of this sport I spoke with professor Jeff Salvage. He is a lifelong racewalker, a coach to many top Olympic contenders, and the founder and CEO of racewalk.com, which served as the U.S. racewalking committee's official website for nearly a decade.Join host Roman Balmakov on this week's episode of “Facts Matter.”Views expressed in this video are opinions of the host and guests and do not necessarily reflect the views of The Epoch Times.

Chris Walker's Bring Home the Love explores the nature of healthy relationships using the analogy of nature's balance. He argues that successful relationships require accepting both positive and negative aspects, adapting to change, and prioritising self-care. Walker emphasises the importance of self-awareness, reducing judgment, and finding stillness to cultivate love. The book offers practical advice for improving relationships, including techniques to manage work stress and cultivate emotional balance. Ultimately, it advocates for a holistic approach to love that integrates personal growth, self-acceptance, and a connection with nature.

Happy Thanksgiving Week BATT Family! We hope that you'll be able to find a bit of relaxation this weekend (at least until Rivalry Week kicks off on Saturday). In the spirit of trying to bring people to the table and give you an alternate to playing Rummikub for the nine billionth time, we're giving you a variety of recommendations for games to bring home for the holidays that will get anybody to play! One final note, we didn't present this list as any kind of ranked list, instead we talked about them in order of release date. --- This episode's segments: 00:00:00 - Intro 00:01:43 - Game 1 00:03:07 - Game 2 00:04:36 - Game 3 00:06:33 - Game 4 00:08:29 - Game 5 00:10:06 - Outro --- Five more games to take home for the holidays: 1) Sushi Go! - Gamewright Originally released in 2013 from designer Phil Walker-Harding and plays 2-5. A light drafting game with great art and a clean set of scoring varieties within the cards themselves. Essentially it's a set collection game where you're trying to score as many points as possible across three rounds based on the cards you've drafted. There was a larger version with more modularity, Sushi Go! Party that supports 2-8 players if you want to play with more people. The components for regular Sushi Go! are included should you want to play that way as well. There were some other implementations as well (Sushi Roll, Sushi Go!: Spin Some for Dim Sum) but I think that SG/SGP are the best ones out there. There is also a brand new 10th Anniversary edition available in very limited quantities, but I have seen it at Barnes and Noble so you might still be able to track that one down. 2) Antidote - Bellwether Games Also released in 2013 from designer Dennis Hoyle, it supports 3-7 players. Antidote plays in the same way that Clue does - you're trying to find the solution before everybody is down to one card in hand. Antidote is a deduction game where on your turn you'll either have everybody pass one card to the left or right, make a direct trade with another player, or have everybody play a card from their hand to the table. There are other modules and variants with the box and the Lab Alliance expansion that honestly we never play with because the base game is strong enough on it's own. Lab Alliance is worth pick up just to expand the player count up to 9 but that's the only reason to own it I think. This game is also one that you can play as co-operatively or selfishly as you want. There technically is scoring but we never use the points and just play to see if we can survive. This has been a favourite for a very long time. 3) Deception: Murder in Hong Kong - Grey Fox Games Released in 2014 from designer Tobey Ho, Deception plays 4-12 players and is a team based deduction game. A murder has been committed by one of the players around the table and only the murderer and the Forensic Expert know who did it. The Forensic player has to communicate what they know silently and only using 6 prompts that are randomly drawn. Each player will have an array of cards in front of them and the murderer needs to lead the other players astray as the Forensic player tries and gets the others to identify the correct items/player. Each non-Forensic player has exactly one guess before the end of the game to guess a pair of cards to identify the murderer. If you like social deduction and want to lean into that theme, then Deception is an excellent choice. There are a variety of small promo packs that you honestly don't need (a lot more gaming related nonsense). The Undercover Allies expansion is good but honestly unneeded. 4) Just One - Repos Productions Just one was released in 2018 and was a reimplementation of a 2017 game that Ludovic Roudy designed. Just one added Bruno Sautter to that design team and supports 3-7 players though honestly you can play more than 7 without much issue. Just One is a game that feels like such an obvious game that somehow took til the last ten years to be released. One player (the judge essentially) will blindly pick a numbered word off a card they can't see. The rest of the players will then try and come up with a single word that will allow the Judge to guess the word they picked. The trick is that if any player reveals they wrote the same clue then both (or all in some cases) have to erase their clue and the Judge has to guess with what's left over. There's a scoring system in this one too that we frankly never use beyond trying to get more words correct than not. This one also works incredibly well for remote play. The biggest baffling thing with Just One is that there isn't any kind of expansion deck available for it in English. A couple of very small promo packs exist, but that's about it. Still, it's arguably my all time favourite party game. 5) The Crew: Mission Deep Sea - Kosmos Released in 2022 from Thomas Sing, Mission Deep Sea is the reimplementation of the 2020 game Search for Planet IX. The Crew plays 2-5 players and I really do pick the specific version of Mission Deep Sea. It's more interesting the way the tricks are determined, uses far less fiddly mechanisms by dropping the tokens, and has just as little theme as the original. The Crew is a co-operative trick taking game and that alone will stun most trick taking players in families. Because the mission book is as simple to use as it is, it's easy to define the path of how to play each night. Or you can simply peel off a few random mission cards and just play it that way. Easy to understand, easy to teach, and a great way to introduce new people to trick taking just as much as it's easy to get lost in for experience trick takers. --- You can email us at boardallthetimegaming@gmail.com. Born in Kenya, Fr. Mutie's own vocation was influenced by missionaries. He discusses the unique challenges of ministering as a foreign missionary.(5:13) Fr. Mutie describes how his flock in Tanzania was spread wide and thin, with few priests and resources to serve them. Because of these shortages, Catholics in the poor country valued the simple things like faith, family, catechesis and the Eucharist. He draws parallels to his missionary work here in the United States.(9:32) Listeners are introduced to Fr. Jeremy Davis, SOLT, another missionary priest serving with the Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity at St. Gabriel Parish in southwest Detroit. Two years ago, Fr. Davis served as associate director of a boarding school for troubled and abandoned youths in Mexico.(12:22) Because the kids in his care often lacked parental figures, Fr. Davis found himself taking on the role of “father” more literally than he ever thought possible. (14:44) Fr. Davis describes what drew him to the priesthood, and how the demands of his current assignment might be different, but the spiritual needs are not.(16:37) The last missionary priest to whom listeners are introduced is Fr. Ken Mazur, PIME, whose first and only missionary assignment began in 1991 in a place far from home: Japan. While many might think of missionary work as primarily belonging to poor countries, Fr. Mazur notes that Japan, at just 1% Christian, is a fertile mission field.(18:54) Fr. Mazur describes his adjustment period to life in Japan, which included learning a new language and culture and understanding how he could best make an impact as a priest in a small Catholic parish on the outskirts of Tokyo.(23:56) Just like in America, Fr. Mazur talks about how little moments of witness — at a wedding, or in the context of a parish school — can plant seeds that may blossom with God's blessings.(26:23) Fr. Davis sums up the experience of missionary work and compares it to the charge of evangelization that all the baptized are given. Whether in Detroit or halfway around the world, the bottom line is the same: sharing the Gospel for love of Christ.Reporting by Daniel Meloy; script by Casey McCorry; narration and production by Ron PangbornFor your home financing, choose Alliance Catholic Credit Union. But for the 40 Australian citizens stranded at the camp – with no water, electricity or any real plan for the future – getting on a plane home could still be years away. Traditional breast prosthetics can be hot, heavy and sticky. They typically require special bras or camisoles with pockets and can't be worn for weeks after surgery. Knitted Knockers are soft, comfortable, beautiful and when placed in a regular bra they take the shape and feel of a real breast. They are adjustable, washable and can even be worn while swimming. Our special volunteer knitters provide these FREE to those requesting them” Please visit the Knitted Knockers website, Knitted Knockers Homepage for all the information that you need. This webpage is especially helpful for information on approved yarns and color information: Yarns and colors Very Important: Please note that neutral colors are preferred.
