We've Always Known How 1 Week In Football Can Change A Whole Lot, Yet This Past Week Reminded Us All Of Just How Much That Age-Old Adage Rings True In Our Beautiful Game - The Briefly Lived Initial Launch Of A Long Rumoured European Super League Rocked Football To It's Core, With Some Of The Biggest Global Football Brands Banding Together To Create An Elitist League Owned & Controlled Solely By Themselves, A Reality We Were Momentarily Spared From Due To Fan Protests, UEFA Threats & Broadcaster Outcry - The Arsenal Board Have Some ‘Splaning To Do, As We The Fans Have Now Seen Them For Who They Truly Are... A Bunch Of Money Hungry Leeches Who Bought Into The Most Profitable Football Club In The World To Raid Her Of All Her Profit & Neglect To Invest In The Long-Term Fiscal Sustainability Of The Club... When The Kroenke's Begun To See That Their Cash-Cow Was Causing More Beef With The Fans Than It Was Creating Profit, They Threw A Hail-Mary Pass In An Attempt To “Build Their Own Ranch” Through The ESL, Now That Their Plan Has Come To Naught, It's Worth Taking A Moment To Ponder What Mr. Aliko Dangote Would Do. You've Run This Race As Far As You Can Kroenke's, Cash In Now & Sell To Mr. Dangote While The Asset Still Has A High Resale Value. If Arsenal Aren't Sold In The Next 12 Months, It's Hard To See How We Will Actually Rebuild Our Once Great Football Club Under The Current Quasi Money Laundering “Sustainability-Based” Financial Model Being Instituted By The Egg-Faced Kroenke Family. On The Field Of Play, Arsenal Have Qualified For The Semi-Finals Of The Europa League, Following A 4-0 Drubbing Of Previously Undefeated Racist Protecting Salvia Prague, Who Still Refused To Take A Knee In Solidarity With The Arsenal Players Prior To Kickoff. That Morale Raising Result Has Now Seen Us Drawn Against Our Former Gaffer Unai Emery & His Villarreal Charges, In A 2- Legged Tie That Promises To Reveal Weather Arsenal Made The Right Call 24 Months Ago When Mikel Arteta Was Hired To Come In & Rectify What Unai Had Failed To Correct In His Tenure As Arsenal Manager. Coming Off The Back Of Such A Great Result In The Cup Game, You Would've Thunk A London Derby @ Home Vs Fulham Would Be More Of The Same Right? Not With This Arsenal Team, No... Stealing A Last Minute Draw Vs Fulham & Having To Celebrate A EUL Semi Is How Far We've Fallen Under The Kroenke Administration, There Are Much Needed Fan Protests Planned Prior To Our League Game Vs Everton & You Know Where We Stand Innit? #KroenkeOut #WhatWouldDangoteDo COYG!!!

There Comes A Time In All Our Lives When We Are Against The Kosh, Forced To Showcase Some Degree Of Fight In Order To Survive & Advance, Tales Of Weathering Those Inevitable Moments Of Adversity Are Often Very Characteristic Of Every Great Champions' Life Story... Our Beloved Gooners Have May Have Made Their Bones By Being Tested Through The Fire, Over The Past Decade & A Half, Yet This Europa League Quarterfinal 2nd-Leg Is The Ultimate Test Of Their True Survival Instincts, As Our Entire Season & Even A Few Arsenal Careers Are Riding On The Outcome Of This Result (And Winning The Europa League). After 25 Consecutive Seasons On Being In European Competitions, A Run That We Came Close To Losing A Couple Of Times In Recent Years, The Arsenal Are Now In Danger Of Missing Out On The Grandest Stages Of European Club Football Completely, Due To Our Inconsistent League Performances & That Dreaded Away Goal That We Gave Away To Slavia Prague In The Last Minute Of Our First-Leg Draw At The Emirates Stadium... Salvia Prague Are Fresh Off A 2-0 Derby Win Against Arch-Rivals Sparta, While Still Riding A 13 Game Home Unbeaten Record In The Europa League; Meanwhile Arsenal Are Coming Off The Back Of A Convincing Win Against Recently Relegated Sheffield United; This Quarter-Final Second Leg Promises To Be A Very Heated Battled Between Two Teams That Really Want To Progress To The Semi's, In Order To Cap Off Their Respective Seasons... It's Last Chance Saloon For Many Of These Gooners, Mikel Arteta Included, If We Don't Win This Game Then The Board Will Have To Institute Some Major Changes Expeditiously, Before The Fanbase Cuts Instead Of The Kroenke's. It's 90 Seconds To Go In The First Leg Of A Europa League Quarter-Final, And Your Team Can Take A Lead Into The 2nd-Leg Away From Home By Merely Seeing Out The Game, Yet You Are Still Not Comfortable As A Fan... That's Because Arsenal Have Made A Habit Of Bottling It When The Pressure Is On, Especially When They Come Up Against Teams That They Really Ought To Be Beating. The Prague Game Is Proof Positive That These Current Lot, For The Most Part, Aren't Good Enough For The Arsenal Still. Leno, Bellerin, Xhaka, Willian & Lacazette Aren't Good Enough To Start Games Regularly For My Arsenal Team, Simple As... We've Accepted Them Over Th Years, Due To Our Dire Fiscal Standing, Yet They've Now Become The Reason Why Our Team Now Has Very Little Room For Improvement Even After 18 Months Under A New Manager. If They Don't Deliver In The 2nd-Leg, And Go On To Finally Win The Europa League This Season, Then It's Time To Bid Farewell To Mikel Arteta & The “Experienced” Players That He Trusted To The Hill Until They Inevitably Let Him Down, As They've Done To Arsene Wenger, Unai Emery Freddie & Ljunberg In The More Recent Past. It's Time For Mikel To Get A Grip & Realize That His Managerial Career Is On The Line Here, He's Still Too Reliant On Seasoned Pro's Who May Be Too Long In The Tooth To Actually Learn Something New, Arteta Has Repeatedly Had His Bacon Saved By Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith-Rowe, Kerian Tierney & Matin Ordegaard Of Late, The So-Called Experienced Players Have Been As Consistent As Rain Showers In California... Mikel Has To Be Seeing The Writing On The Wall, We As Fans Are Ready To Fully Rebuild & Sell-Off All The Deadwood Leading Up Into Next Season... Auba & Partey Shouldn't Even Be Exempt From The Axe, If They Don't Improve Between Now & Season's End While Playing With More Of Our Younger Players In The League Games To Gauge What It Is We May Have Going Into The 2021/22 Season. Sheffield United Are A Great Team To Begin This Experiment Against, It's A No Pressure Situation That Could Set Us Up To Go On A Good Run Of Form. COYG!!!

Losing Is A Necessary Part Of Sports & Life, One That Allows Us To Learn From Our Mistakes And Set Us Up For A Comeback Or Meteoric Rise To The Top... The Only Issue With Losing, Is The Manner In Which You Lose - You Can't Learn Much From A Failure Caused By A Situation In Which You Didn't Try Your Level Best - Our Beloved Arsenal Are No Where Near Knowing How Far They Are Away From, An Albeit Fallen On Hard Times Heavyweight, Team Like Liverpool... Which Intel That We Should Be Using To Gauge The Efficiency Of Our Rebuilding Process Thus Far. So Much For That! We Now Turn Our Attentions To Our Best Hope For A Return To European Competition Next Season, The UEFA Europa League, Where We Face Salvia Prague In The Quarter-Finals 1st Leg Tonight At The Emirates Stadion. In Reality, Arsenal Should Be Winning This Tie With Ease & Already Planning For A Welcome Back Tribute For Unai Emery & His Villarreal Team In The Semi-Finals, But Our Team Prefers For Us To Sample Some Of Their Virtual Reality Experience... So You Never Really Know How This One May Pan Out. The Arsenal That I Grew Up On Would Smack Salvia Around For The Racial Abuse Suffered By Glen Kamara In The Round Of 32 Tie Vs Rangers, Who Will Have To Watch A Racist Play With His Team In A Competition That They Should've Lost The Right To Compete In Following Such Heinous Abuse Live On Television In Front Of A Global Audience... If We Can't Kick Racism Out Of A Globally Regulated Industry Like Football, What Hope Do We Give To Those Fighting Racial Abuse Closer To Home, With No Global Regulatory Body/s To Call Upon? Rest In Power Gooner! In This Episode, 2RU-STORI Recaps The 3-3 London Derby Draw Against West Ham United (Match Takeaways & Player Ratings), Where Arsenal Had To Fight Back From 3 Goals Down Within The First 32 Mins & Could've Even Got The Win In The End With A Little Bit More Quality / Composure In-Front Of Goal. We Make Our Return From The International Break With A Big Week Of Football, Beginning With A League Game Versus Defending Champions Liverpool (Which We Preview In This Episode + #PredictTheLineupAFC) & A Europa League First Leg Quarter-Final Encounter Against Salvia Prague At Home On Thursday Night, Before We Face Bottom Of The Table Sheffield United Next Week Sunday, A Run Of Games That Could Define How Well We Finish This Season & Build Up Momentum Leading Into A Very Pivotal Off-Season, For Our Rebuild Process. In A Season Filled With Nigh On Relationship Ending Depression Caused By The Continued Under-Performance Of Our Beloved Arsenal, It's Pretty Wild To Think That We Are Still In With A Shot Of Winning The Europa League & Finishing In The Top 4 (Knock On Wood). There's Plenty Room For Improvement At Arsenal, Along With Plenty Reason For Optimism Too... For All The Goals We've Given Away Or Left On The Table, We've Also Unearthed A Couple Young Players That Now Serve As The Cornerstones Of Our Rebuilding Process. All Things Considered, We're Are Now Beginning To Close The Gap Between Ourselves & The Elite Teams In The EPL, Which Is Exactly The Type Of Progress We Needed To Make This Season. Having Been Away For A Few Weeks, We Briefly Recap All The Games That I Missed Out On (A Pretty Decent 6 Game Run For The Goon Squad) Before Doing A Young Preview Of The Upcoming London Derby Vs West Ham United & Closing Off The Pod With An Optimistic Look At Our Remaining 10 EPL Fixtures (Predicting Where We Can Still Finish This Season). It's Been A While Since We, As Arsenal, Went Into A Run Of Games Knowing That, Regardless Of How The Season Has Gone / Is Going, We Still Have The Power To Dictate How The Season Is Remembered Through The Manner In Which We Finish The Race Regardless, Of Our Final Position Or Lack Of Silverware Attained. The League Is Seemingly A Foregone Conclusion, With Manchester City Having To Collapse Right At The Finish Line To Blow Their Lead This Season, Yet Our Beloved Arsenal Are Still In The Europa League Round Of 32 & Just 6 Points Off The Top Six In The League... While There's Still Quite A Bit Of Football Still To Be Played, These Next 3/4 Games Could Easily Define Arsenal's Season From A Bigger Picture Perspective And Possibly Buy Mikel ArTekkas The Opportunity Cost He Needs To Kick-Start This Stalled Rebuild Process. Following A Narrow 1-0 Loss To The Champions Elect, Man City, Our Beloved Arsenal Are Back At It With A Must-Not-Lose Home Game Away From Home In Athens (Greece) Against A Very Strong & Well-Organized Benfica Squad Who Are Also Fighting To End Their Season On A High Note, Following Some Poor League Performances This Term. Both Teams Will Be Hungry To Advance Into The Last 16, Where They'll Be Just 5 Games Away From Potentially Lifting The UEFA Europa League Trophy & Sealing A Much Welcomed Return To Champions League Football Next Season. The Teething Stage Is Rumoured To Be When Infants Tend To Be At Their Most Unsettled, Disgruntled & Annoyed (Read Annoying) Of The Early Childhood Phases, Which I May Not Be Able To Vouch For Yet But I Can Still Use That External Perspective To Juxtapose That Early Childhood Occurrence To The Current State Of All Things Arsenal Related... As Things Currently Stand, This Is The Most Unsettled We've Been As A First Team Squad, As Disgruntled As We've Become As A Fanbase And As Annoyed (Annoying) As The Results Have Been For The Manager, After Looking Like We Had Fully Turned The Tide And Begun To Grow Into Who We May Be, Post A Decent Run Of Form That Coincided With The Boxing Day Beating Of Chelsea Last Year. This Has To Be The Culmination Of Our Valley, There Needs To Be A Series Of Peaks From Here On In As We Are Due A Positive Turn In Fortunes, Before Job Security Becomes More Than Just A Mikel Arteta Issue... As Eyes Will Inevitably Begin To Turn Towards Edu, Vinai, Josh Kroenke & The Players Themselves As Co-Defendants To The Charge Of Continually Failing To Improve The Arsenal During Their Tenure's At The Club. A Blown Chance At Revenge Against Aston Villa Was Retributed With A Morale Boosting Win Versus Leeds United, Which Was The Type Of Momentum We Needed Going Into A Big Europa League Round Of 32 First Leg Against Benfica, That We Unfortunately Failed To Win Yet Still Managed To Get An Away Goal From The 1-1 Draw Against A Very Good Team, That Will Truly Be Up For It In The Winner Takes All 2nd Leg. It's Hard To Be Confident As A Gooner Coming Into This Heavyweight Clash Against League Leaders Manchester City, They've Beaten Us In The Previous 7 League Encounters, With The Looming Second Leg Tie Versus Benfica And Pretty Much Nothing Left To Play For In The League, Despite Us Being 10 Points Off The Top 4 / 6 Points Off The Top 6, Arsenal's Inconsistency's In The League Have Now Necessitated That We Go All In On The Europa League And Secure Ourselves A Return To Champions League Football Next Season Via That “More Scenic” Route. I See This Game Vs Citeh As A Free-Kick That We Can Use To Work On Some Things For The Benfica Game & Even Rest Some Key Players, While Giving Some Of Our Academy Graduates A Chance To Redeem Themselves For The EFL Cup Loss That We Suffered Against Pep's Lads Earlier This Season. There Is Nothing Like A Good Beef To Light The Weekend Football Fire... When One Thinks Of Arsenal Versus Manchester United, They Think Of A Modern Battle That Goes Way Beyond A Football Game; The Historical Impact Of This Fixture Dates Back To The 1800's, With The First Competitive Match Coming In October Of 1894; Their Previous 233 Ties Have Seen Arsenal Win 84 Times, With 97 Losses & Just 52 Draws Shared Between The Two Great Rivals. While The Result Of This Game Has Often Had A Large Impact On How Each Side Views Their Seasons Accomplishments, Merely Winning This Game Can Also Help Define A Teams Season, Especially When Both Teams Are At Their Peak, Or Thereabouts. Manchester United Come Into This Game 2nd On The Log, After Picking Up Their Socks Post The 1-0 Defeat We Handed Them Earlier This Season, With The Wheels Of Olé's Bus Appearing To Be Nearing The Beginning Of Another Accident Prone Run, Post The 2-1 Loss To Sheffield United In Their Last League Encounter, United Will Be Very Weary Of The Threats Arsenal Pose At Home, Particularly After Dissecting How Arsenal Played Against Southampton Away From Home. One Can Always Expect A Tightly Contested Affair When These Two Sides Meet And Today Has That Little Bit Of Extra Incentive In It For Each Side; United Can Keep Their Position Close To The Top Of The League With A Win, While Arsenal Could Finish The Weekend Among The European Places (Top 7), If They Win & Other Results Go Their Way As Well. There Is Always Something Wrong With The Composition Of Our Team, From Players, To Coaches, All The Way Up To Board Level, The Curl Hasn't Seemed To Curl All The Way Over, Since David Dein Left The Club. We As Fans Are Sick & Tired Of Getting Our Hopes Up For Winnable League Games, Only To Be Sorely Let Down By Our Team, Every Single Fucken Weekend, It's Embarrassing & It's Depressing! Mikel Cannot Be The One Taking All The Blame, For Issues That Had Been Eminent In Our Football Club Well Before He Arrived As A Player... Losing To Wolves, As Arsenal, Is Unacceptable At Any Point, Of Any Season, In Whichever Era You May Refer To, Arsenal Should Be Winning Matches Like These. I Have Never Been A Big Fan Of The In-Season Stoppages That We Call International Breaks, More-So Now While The Entire World Battles A Covid-19 Pandemic - Which Only Leads Us To Question If The Return Of Sporting Events Had More To Do With Economics Than The Epidemic We're Facing - Once Thing Is For Certain, Two Things Are For Sure, We Needed That Inter-Lull Way More Than Any Other Team In World Football... Following An Embarrassing Loss To Recently Promoted Aston Villa, Our Boys Needed Time To Take Stock Of What Just Happened, After Having Been On A High Post The Unite Win, That Drubbing At The Hands Of Villa, Was A Rather Sobering Moment, One That We Needed To Kick-Start Our Season. The Draw Against Leeds United, In Our 1st Game After The Int'l Break, Was Just What The Doctor Ordered In A Senses; Having Come Into The Game Under-Pressure From All Quarters, Arsenal Found The Going To Be Getting Even Tougher, Once Nicolas Pepe Was Sent Of For Violent Conduct; Playing Out The Last 37 Mins Of The Game, With 10 Men, Against A Side We Couldn't Afford To Lose To, Tested Our Resolve & Highlighted Just How Much Improvement Still Needs To Be Made, In All Areas Of The Squad. Thursday Nights Europa League Clash Against FK Mølde, Was A Great Sign Of What's To Come - With A Squad Saw 8 Changes From The Leeds Game, A Few Hale End Academy Graduates & Once Marginalized Fringe Players Put Their Hands Up For More Consideration In More Competitive Games Down The Line - A Confident Group Clinching Win, Along With A Highly Laudable Team Performance, Against A Good Team, That Gave A Good Account Of Themselves, Was The Perfect Springboard To This Clash Against Wolverhampton Wanderers... Wolves Are A Notoriously Difficult Game For Us As Gooners, Dating Back To The Mick McCarthy Days, When Wolves Were Tough To Breakdown - This New Age Wolves Team Has Kept Much Of That Old-Skool Resolve, And Added A Whole Lot Of Elite Level Class To The Mix, Making Wolves An Even Tougher Team To Beat - Our Goon Squad Will Need To Be On Their Level, And Play Like We Know They Can, If We Are To Stand Any Chance Of Getting A Positive Result Out Of This Game. Wolves Haven't Begun The Season As Well As They Would've Liked To, Which Presents Us With An Opportunity To Get One Over Them, While They Are Still Stumbling Around Trying To Find Their Feet... In A Performance, That Can Only Be Described As "Utterly Shite", Our Arsenal Contrived To Give Up All The Momentum That We've Built Under The Mentorship Of Mikel Arteta, In One Solitary Game Of Football, Where They Seemed To Never Come Out Of The Changing Room, With Some Players Looking Like They Came Out Of A 6 Month Long Quarantine, And Turned Up To Play An Exhibition Game, After Being Woken Up From The Best Sleep Ever... While No Self-Respecting Arsenal Fan Is Proud Of The Fact That We've Now Become A Thursday Night Channel 5 Team, We Can't Run From Our Reality As It Is, If We Are To Continue Building A Team Equipped To Attain High Level Success In The Future - I Say All That, To Say This, Arsenal's Current Situation, Is Actually Great Preparation For Our Future Celebrations - Watching Some Of Our Youngsters Getting A Run In The Europa League Games, And Seeing Them Grow Into Mature First-Team Players Before Our Very Eyes, Is Something Many Of Us Had Lost Hope On Ever Witnessing Again, After Walcott, Wilshere, Ramsey & Oxlade-Chamberlain Were All Tipped To Be Part Of Our Teams Nucleus For The Next Decade, Before We Watched Them Each Leave The Club, One After The Other, For A Myriad Of Reasons, Many Of Which Still Dumbfound Me Till Today. Under Mikel Artkekas, We've Had That Hope Reinvigorated, Due To His Great Eye For Talent, And Even Keener Understanding Of What These Young Fledglings Need To Grow Into Stars. For All The Talk In The Press, About Mikel Having A League Side, And A Thursday Night Side, It's Worth Commending How The Gaffer Has Managed To Begin Competing On All Fronts, Without Dropping The Ball, And Not Yet Having Brought In His Own Players, Or Even Getting Rid Of Players That He May Deem Surplus To Requirements... With Less Than 5 Marquee Additions To The First Team, Artekas Has Already Begun To Put His Own Indelible Mark On This Arsenal Side, And The Fruits Of His Labour Are Already Beginning Tao Ripen; Having Taken Control Of Group B, After Comprehensively Beating FK Mølde On Matchday 3, Arsenal Sit Upon Of The Standings, And It Will Come As Little Surprise To See More Younger Players Getting A Run In The 3 Remaining Group Fixtures, Which Will Prove To Be A Sterner, Career Building Test For The Kids, With Arsenal Set To Play 2 Away Games In That Run Of 3 Fixtures. Arsenal Fans Have Ample Reason To Be Optimistic About The Future Of The Team, As Mikel Has Gradually Begun To Win Over Some Of His Detractors, And Even Some Neutrals Alike, Due To How He Has Visibly, And Markedly Improved This Entire Football Club In Less Than 11 Months. It's Safe To Say, In Artekas We Trust! ️

Reminiscing Upon The Days When Arsenal Would Habitually Let Me Down, Just When I Had Begun To Count On Them The Most, Is Somewhat Of A Therapeutic Process These Days - As This Goon Squad Begins To Mould Their Own Identity, There Is A New Thread That Has Underpinned This Process, A Threat Cut From Some Rather Vintage Cloths, That Are Very Familiar To Us As Gooners - This New, And Still Improving Arsenal Side Is Being Built On A Defensively Sound Philosophy, Based On A High Press That Begins All The Way Upfront, In A Modern Homage To George Graham; While The Creative Prowess Is Underpinned By A Commanding Midfield Paring, Which Affords The Main Forward Players Room To Weave Their Magic, Creating For More WengerballEsque Dominating Phases Of Play Within Game Situations, Far More Regularly. The Team Is Still Learning To Play To Their Optimal Level, Under Mikel, Yet They Now Seem To Have Grown Fully Conscious Of Just How Much We Regressed As A Team, And How They Will Have To Step It Up, Regardless Of Who Is Playing In What Position, Against Which Side, For However Many Minuets; As Arteta Has Stated, There Are No More Egos In The Dressing Room, Everybody Is Now Working Hard To Meet The Objectives Set Out; Short-Term, Mid-Term & Long-Term, We Are Starting To Make Some Very Good Progress... Following Our 1-0 Victory Away At United, For The First Time In 14 Year's, We've Begun To Win Over A Few Mikel Haters, Pundits & Some Neutrals Too, Due To How Well The Squad Has Visibly Improved In Just Under 11 Months; With A Chance To Pull Off The Olé Double Tonight, By Beating Solskjaer's Former Team, In FK Molde, Arsenal Will Be Rightfully Expected To Win The Game Handily; Molde Will Be No Walkover Whatsoever, Having Already Won Their First 2 Group Games As Well, They Now Sit 2nd Behind Arsenal On Goal Difference. The Defending Norwegian League Champions Have All But Lost Their Crown To Bodø/Glimt, And Will Now Be Focusing Their Attention Soley On Securing Qualification Out Of The Group, Which Will Make Them Our Biggest Threat, And A Team We Need To Secure A Result Against, Twice! With A Congested List Of Upcoming Fixtures, Punctuated By A 2 Week International Break, We Expect To See Some Player Rotation, Which Hope Will Lead To A Very Confident Performance, From The Incoming Players, Who Now Have To Play Themselves Into Consideration For More Regular Starts In The Premier League Games Going Forward. Regardless Of The Changes, We Remain Confident Of A Sound Arsenal Win & A Solid Performance All-Around From The Entire Team. COYG! A Fixture That Both Teams Circle On Their Calendars At The Beginning Of Every Season, Manchester United Vs Arsenal Is Well Regarded As One Of The Marquee Premier League Fixtures, Dating Back To When I Started Following Arsenal, Back In The Early 2000's - The Tie Has Lost Some Of It's Allure Over The Years, Due To Both Sides Having Suffered A Fall From Grace, Yet We Were Again Reminded Of What This Game Means To Football As A Whole - Arsenal Came Into Manchester Needing A Win, After 2 League Defeats On The Trot, Against A Manchester United Side That Had Begun To Find Some Degree Of Form, After A 6-1 Drubbing At The Hands Of “That Other Team In North London”. For Mikel Arteta To Come Up Against A Side That We Hadn't Beaten Away In 14 Years, Was Somewhat Poetic, Knowing How He Often Played Against United, For Arsenal, In Teams That Weren't Always Built, Or Prepared To Get A Result In Such Settings... Artekas Pulled Off A Tactical Masterclass, That Was Encapsulated By A Very United-Like Decision Going Our Way, For A Change; While Mike Dean Can Be Something Of A Diva, When The Stage Takes Over Him, He Managed The Game Very Well, And Allowed Us To Enjoy A More Competitive Game, That Came Down To Tactics, Desire, And Talent; For Us As Arsenal Fans, Having A Referee Who Actually Referees The Game Fairly, Is A Much Welcome Reality, That We Can Live With, As We Are Now Free To Play Our Game, And Play With 11 Men, In Big Games. After 29 Winless Games Away At “Top 6” Clubs, Arsenal FC Have Finally Brought Back A W, From An Away Trip Against A Fellow Heavyweight, Which Only Bodes Well For The Future Of Our Club. Now That Mikel Has Proven That He Can Maximize What He Currently Has At His Disposal, To Attain Results That We Couldn't Get In The Previous Decade, Speaks Volumes Of The Manager That We Have. Going Into The Game, I Was Confident In Our Ability To Finally Pull Off A Win At Old Trafford, Partly Due To How Things Are Changing For Our Team, Which Is Largely Down To Our Manager, Who Made His Expertise Count Against A Lesser Manager, To Ensure That He Wins The Game, Despite The Opposition Having Higher Quality Players. The Onus Is Now On The Board To Back Mikel Over The Next 5 Transfer Windows, As He Builds His Squad Up To Compete For The Highest Honours, Until January, Artekas Will Need To Keep Managing His Squad Well, And Improving The Personnel Already At The Club, To Make Us An Attractive Destination For Other Elite Level Talent, That Our Board Can Bump The Cheese Up For, And Sign Up. Eating Humble Pie Is Well Worth It, When The Outcome Benefits You In Totality - I Had A Lot Of Kak To Say About Some Of Our Academy Graduates, And Fringe Players, In Our Last Episode, And Pondered If They Deserved Another Run-Out After Being So Uninspiring Of Late - Mikel Arteta Went Into The Dundalk Game With Something To Prove, After Having Lost To Leicester City, And Heading Into A Must-Win Game Against Manchester United On Sunday Afternoon... The Arsenal Gaffer Knew He Needed To Rotate The Squad, And Still Get A Positive Result, While Also Building Up The Depth Chart In The Process; So Far, So Good Mikel; In A Game That Saw 5 Hale End Academy Players Featuring, Alongside Some More Fringe / Backup Experienced Players, And Two First Team Regulars With A Point To Prove, Arsenal Still Looked Confident In Their Win, With The Offence Even Looking Far More Potent, As A Result Of There Being More Balance Across The Pitch. Mikel Was Brave Is Selecting Some Of Dhem Man There, And Many Of Them Rewarded The Manager With Great Performances, That Will Only Bode Well For The Future. Speaking Of The Future Of Arsenal, We Took Some Time To Look Into The Players Aged 23 & Under, Within The First Team Setup, To Gauge What The Future May Look Like, When We Develop Into Who We May Be; Our First Team Has A Lot Of Players Over The Age Of 28, Who Aren't Part Of Our Long-Term Future As A Football Club, We Should Begin Focusing More One These Young Players, And See What We May Potentially Have Down The Line; Adding World-Class Level Talent Like Nicolas Pepe, Gabriel, And Partey On Long-Term Deals Has Done Wonders For Us, As We Can Begin Complimenting Our Young Starlets With Those Marquee Additions, Giving Mikel More Tools For Him To Build A Winning Team With. We Will Look Forward To The Manchester United Game In The Next Episode, For Now, We Enjoy The Fruits Of The Labour Invested Into Our Hale End Academy, Because The Kids Are Alright My Chommie. What A Difference A Week Makes; After Losing 1-0 To Leicester City In Our Last Outing, Returning To Action Against A Dundalk Side That Has Seen Some Better Days In Their More Recent History, Could Be Just What The Doctor Ordered; Having Decompressed The Last Game, And Having Learned Some Invaluable Lessons About Our Team / Players / Coaches, We Could Use A Winable Game To Get Our Rhythm Back, Or Even Lift The Mood Around The Club, Going Into A Rather Crunch Game Against Manchester United, Away At Old Trafford On Sunday. Mikel Seems To Respect The Europa League, As Far As His Rather Limited Squad Allows Him To, And It Will Be Intriguing To See How He Shuffles Up The Side, With One Eye On The League Game Against The Bus Driver Named Ole, And His Team - We Saw How Man Like Mustafi Fucked Up Against Leicester City, Yet Mikel Refuses To Refute Rumors Of Him Being Offered A New Deal, Man Like Mustafi MUST NOT Wear The Arsenal Jersey Again, Unless He's Paying For It Himself - With Seliba Ineligible For The European Games, Because Man Like Mustafi Has Been Registered Instead, And First-Team Level Central Defenders Like Luiz, Holding, And Mari Are a All Out Injured, It Will Be Interesting To See How We Approach The Defensive Side Of The Game, In A Fixture Where We Can't Afford To Carry An Extra Defender, When We Are Under Pressure To Score More Goals. Team Selection Will Be A Key Taking Point, As It Will Be Very Indicative Of Whether Mikel Is Learning Who His Players Have Shown Themselves To Be, While Also Showcasing How Open He Truly Is To The Idea Of Supplementing A Winning Arsenal Squad, With Elite Level Young Players From Our Hale End Academy, Which Has Continued To Produce Another Batch Of Ready-To-Play Young Talent, It's Now Growing Nigh On A Year, Since Fledglings Like Willock, Nketiah, Saka, Nelson, Smith-Rowe & Maitland-Niles Were All Beginning To Make Their Respective Forays Into The First Team... Some Of Our Young Guns Have Shone, And Even Graduated To Full International Honours, While Others Have Failed To Fully Grasp The More Limited Opportunities, And Convert Them Into More Consistent Looks In The Squad, Others Have Shown Great Glimpses Of Their Potential, Yet Injuries, And A Backlog In The Pecking Order At The Club, In Their Positions, Have Contrived To Make Things Harder For Them, As They Attempt To Establish Themselves. This Game Is An Opportunity For Them To All Stake Their Claim For Regular Football, While Playing In Their Rightful Positions, Against A Team That They Really Ought To Be Beating, If They Are Good Enough To Be First Teamers For Our Football Club. In The 20 Year History Of My Arsenal Fandom, I've Never Seen Our Team As Inconsistent As They've Been This Past Decade - Towards The Backend Of The Wenger Year's, Throughout The Emery Experiment, And Even During The Freddie Fiasco, We Haven't Looked Like A Team You Could Bank On, To Get Two Positive Results On The Trot - As Things Currently Stand, Arsenal Are One Of The Key Revenue Income Generators For Bookies, And Football Match Betting DSPs, And It's Making Me Naar... When You Consider The Subpar Performance Against SK Rapid Wien In Austria, Which Actually Led To A 2-1 Win, It's Hard To Forgive The Less Than Stellar Shift We Saw The Team Put In At Home, Against A Leicester City Side That Hadn't Won Away At Arsenal In 47 Year's... We Are Continually Reaching New Low's, In Time's When Our Club Should Be Rebuilding To Reach Heights That We've Never Seen Before, While Watching Guy's That Don't Deserve To Wear The Arsenal Jersey & Kiss The Cannon Crest With Pride, Because They Have Shown A Lack Of Pride In How They Perform For The Badge. We Will Not Win A Champions League With Players Like Leno, Mustafi, Xhaka & Lacazette Playing Regular Minute's For Us In Key Positions That Form Part Of Our Team's Spine; It's Time To Start Playing More Of The U/23 & Academy Players In Those Positions, So That We Can See Where They Can Help The Team In Future Games, While Also Giving Us An Idea Of What We Still Need To Add To The Squad. Top 4 Shouldn't Be A Subject For Us To Discuss Any Longer, As We Aren't Consistent Enough To Even Have That Conversation From Week-To-Week, It's Time To Focus On Our 4 Year Rebuilding Plan, Which Must Culminate In League & European Honours... For Us To Build Towards That, Certain Players Need To Be Phased Out, Released, Loaned Out, Or Sold In The Next 12 Months, With A Few Promising Laaities Being Promoted, And A Few More World Class Level Signings Being Made, In The Mould Of Auba, Gabriel & Partey. These 4 Days, Between The Wien & Leicester Games Have Been Very Telling For Us As A Fanbase, It's Time To Recalibrate Our Plan & Build Towards Sustainable Success In The Future. Fresh Off A Football Lesson In Strategy, From The Master Himself, Mikel Arteta's Arsenal Side Are Back In Action Tonight, In A Crucial Europa League Cup Fixture; Undefeated In Our Last 6 Away Games, We Have Good Reason To Anticipate A Positive Result This Time Out; The Memories Of Our 1st Knockout Stage Loss To Olympiakos Last Season, Can Be Glossed Over Win A Good Start To This New European Campaign, And Mikel Will Be Looking For More From His Charges. SK Rapid Wien Have Won 8 Of Their Last 9 European Cup Fixtures, And Will Prove To Be Stern Opposition For Our Side, Which May Comprise Of Some Younger Players, And A Few Squad Rotation Guys As Well - Mikel May Rightfully Opt For A 3-5-2 Structure, To Ensure That The Defence Is Well In Tact Away From Home, Which May Serve Us Well In The Early Parts Of The Game. With A Few Back-Up Players Out Injured, We May See Some First-Teamers Selected In Key Positions, To Give The Team Some Stability, And Added Experience. Our Season's Expectations Are To Finish In The Top 4, And Also Win A Cup, Or Two... The Europa League Is An Ideal Opportunity To Get A Trophy, And Buy Some Champions League Qualifying Insurance, In Case The Top 4 Battle Doesn't Go Our Way. This Is A Great Game For Us To Play A Few Of Those Fringe Players, While Working On Some Defensive Combinations, And Potentially Increasing Our Squad Depth By Giving Some Academy Kids A Run, Once The Result Has Been Secured. Watching The Karate Kid, One Can't Help But Feel An Exasperating Sense Of Helplessness, As Daniel Saan Just Can't Get Out Of His Own Way Long Enough To Allow The Lessons From His Tutor, To Take Hold Of Him, And Help Him See Who He May Be... Shedding That Perception Of Who You're Not, While Reconciling Who You Are, With Who You May Be, Is A Process Through Which Many A Great Have Come Unstuck, Or Been Made, While Trying To Undergo. Mikel Arteta Is Not Arsene Wenger, Or Josep Guardiola, He Is However, A Pretty Darn Good Gaffer, Who Learned Tons From Arsene, And Pep, In His Time Under Them, As A Player, And As A Coach. Mikel Is Still A Very Young, And Relatively Inexperienced Manager, Who Actually Has The Potential To Surpass Both Of His Mentors, When His Own Story Is Concluded, A Process That We As Fans Need To Buy Into Fully, And Support Unwavering. I Say All That, To Say This, Watching Pep Have To Reach Into His Bag Of Tricks, To Try Surprise Mikel, And Afford His City Team An Opportunity To Get A Positive Result, Was Something Of A Compliment To Who We Are Becoming, As A Football Club. Coming Into The Game, I Expected To See A Slight Structural Change From Mikel, Yet It Was Pep Who Made The Bold Alterations That Changed The Complexion Of The Game, In Favour Of His Team. The Teamsheet Had Few Major Surprises, Aside From The Selection Of Willian As A False 9, When Auba Could've Played Down The Middle, With Willian On The Wing, Or Saka Starting In A More Advanced Midfield Position, We Still Fielded A Squad That Was Capable Of Getting A Positive Result Out Of The Game. Despite The Dominance That Citeh Showed Throughout The Game, We Can Hold Our Heads High, In Having Lost To The Better Side, While Also Putting In A Good Showing Of Our Own. Overall, It Was A Learning Curve For Mikel, Who Was Schooled On The Art Of Unpredictability, As It Pertains To Setting Up Your Team In Specific Fixtures, And Making Alterations On The Fly, To Fit Your Personnel, And Suit The Texture Of The Game. 1 Min - Final Lessons From The Master 4 Min - Initial Teamsheet Reaction 10 Min - Tactical Outlook Moving Forward 15 Min - We Need Some MoFaya 20 Min - The Great Gabriel 21 Min - What's Our Plan B? 22 Min - Defensive Lessons (Luiz & Leno Roles In The Goal) 25 Min - The Gameplan Must Fit The Game 26 Min - Player Ratings Leno - 6 Hector - 6 Luiz - 6 Gabriel - 7 Tierney - 7 Saka - 8 Xhaka - 6 Ceballos - 8 Pepe - 7 Auba - 6 Willian - 6 Subs Laca - 6 Partey - 6 Nketiah - 6 Gaffer Mikel - 6 #WhenHighburyWasHome #WHWH #FinalLessonsFromMrMiyagi #MCIARS #MatchReviewShow #COYG --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/whwhpodcast/message
