If you have driven across the state of Pennsylvania, you crossed over the Clarion River. A tributary of the Allegheny River, it's approximately 110 miles. In the 1970s, the river was considered a "dead river,” unable to sustain life. It's now become a recreational Mecca. Our guest on today's show is Dr. Andy Turner, a Professor at Penn West University. We discuss the history of the Clarion and it's rebirth. Andy talks about everything from the tanneries that once lined the river to the distructive logging and coal mining that took place in the surrounding forests. If you are interested in the Great Outdoors and learning more about an environmental success story this podcast is for you.

A Christmas Story is one of those classic Christmas movies that, even if you've never seen it, you've probably quoted it. You've probably seen a leg lamp or an image of a bespectacled boy in a pink bunny suit. Over the years, this film has been woven into the fabric of our culture in so many ways that it has become a classic piece of Americana. A Christmas Story now inspires new generations of filmmakers who want to bring back the warmth, nostalgia, and family connection the movie captured perfectly. It goes to show that sometimes the most enduring stories aren't the ones with the biggest explosions or the flashiest effects but the ones that remind us of the simple joys of life, the value of tradition, and the beauty of dreaming big—even if it's just for a Red Ryder BB gun. As Christians who have been freed from sin, why do we so often continue to submit to its rule in our lives? Why do we continue to serve our old master, when serving Jesus is so much better? Andy continues in week 6 of our Foundation series.
You'll agree with me that Hollywood has lost its originality. They made bold films years ago, but they play it safe these days. They take a cartoon that we watched in the seventies and remake it. It's very formulaic. Somebody who's trying to change his industry, and he is a true disruptor, Andy Turner with Rubicon City Studios.
We can give every excuse to keep sinning, but we don't have to live shackled to sin anymore. The Gospel not only has the power to forgive us but it has the power to change us and free us from the bondage of sin. Andy Turner continues in our Foundation series with a message for Baptism Sunday at LCC.

When you work for something, your payment is earned... God's acceptance of us is not earned. It is a gift, and we cannot work for it. You are defined by what God has done on your behalf and by who God says that you are. Andy Turner continues in week 2 of our Foundation series, as we continue through the Book of Romans.
Easter Sunday message from LCC.
There's no such thing as cheap grace. God gave up Christ as a propitiation by his blood, through faith, that he might be just and the justifier to the one who places their faith in Jesus. Propitiation is God demanding payment for sin... and then making the payment for sin. Andy continues in week 8 of our series through Romans.
