Welcome to The Daily, where we study the Bible verse by verse, chapter by chapter, every day. Thank you for joining me today and following us throughout Project 23. If you would like to learn more about this project, click the link to discover more and partner with us. Our text today is Mark 12:28-34: And one of the scribes came up and heard them disputing with one another, and seeing that he answered them well, asked him, "Which commandment is the most important of all?" Jesus answered, "The most important is, 'Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.' The second is this: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no other commandment greater than these." And the scribe said to him, "You are right, Teacher. You have truly said that he is one, and there is no other besides him. And to love him with all the heart and with all the understanding and with all the strength, and to love one's neighbor as oneself, is much more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices." And when Jesus saw that he answered wisely, he said to him, "You are not far from the kingdom of God." And after that no one dared to ask him any more questions. — Mark 12:28-34 In a moment filled with debates and trick questions, one man dares to ask something sincere: "What's the most important commandment?" That's the right question. And Jesus doesn't hesitate. He quotes the Shema from Deuteronomy 6—words every Jewish boy and girl had memorized: Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength. And love your neighbor as yourself. That's it. That's the whole law in two lines. Love vertically. Love horizontally. The man nods. He gets it. He says it back to Jesus, and Jesus replies: "You are not far from the kingdom." We complicate faith. Jesus simplifies it. It's not about rules or rituals. Not about knowledge or appearances. It's about love—real love. Do you love God with your whole being? Do you love people as you love yourself? That's the measuring stick—not how much you know, but how well you love. And it's convicting, because most of us are pretty good at loving ourselves. We think about ourselves. Protect ourselves. Excuse ourselves. But Jesus says: That same energy you give yourself? Give it to others. And more than that—give all of yourself to God. The love God wants is total. Not partial. Not occasional. Not reserved. All of it. This command doesn't leave room for compartmentalized faith. It pulls everything into the light: affections, thoughts, decisions, actions. So live all in for him who lived all in for you. #GreatestCommandment, #Mark12, #LoveGodLovePeople ASK THIS: Why does Jesus say these two commands summarize the whole law? Which area of love is hardest for you—heart, soul, mind, or strength? Who is someone God may be calling you to love more intentionally? What does “not far from the kingdom” mean in your life? DO THIS: Ask God to show you where your love for Him has grown thin, and who around you needs the love you've been withholding. PRAY THIS: God, help me love you with all that I am—and love others the way you love me. Let my faith be full of real love, not empty religion. Amen. PLAY THIS: “The Heart of Worship”

Love is more than a feeling—it’s a reflection of God Himself. In this message, we discover the deeper why behind our love for others, rooted in the overwhelming, life-changing love God has shown us.
Today we begin a new series of messages that will encourage our listeners to be strong and courageous in their faith and to live out a faith that will outlive you. Our first message will challenge you to Stop Living In Fear. Speaking of fears, we all have them, and they really do sometimes get in the way of what God wants us to do…to Love Him and to Love Others. Well, later on in the broadcast I’ll be sharing a resource with you that you can pick up that will help you with your walk while combatting those fears. But for now our focus is not necessarily on physical fears like being scared of the dark, but on spiritual fears. What is it that’s keeping you from living boldly for God where you are? Here’s Pastor Mark now with Part 1 of “Stop Living In Fear”… on Moody Presents.Become part of our Advance Team: http://moodyradio.org/donateto/moodypresents/partnersSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

JOIN SHERI HORN HASAN @ FOR THIS WEEK'S ASTROLOGICALLY SPEAKING PODCAST WHICH DROPS JULY 4 @ https://www.karmicevolution.com/astrologically-speaking“Where is love? Does it fall from skies above? Is it underneath the willow tree I've been dreaming of?” No, you fool, it comes from within! This is the dilemma we've been dealing with as since we were advised to plant seeds of self-compassion and nurturing at the Cancer New Moon of June 26.As evolutionary astrologer Steven Forrest discusses on a recent podcast about Cancer energy: “If you are forgiving toward yourself you're more likely to be forgiving of others. Loving other people is easier if you love yourself. If you harbor negative feelings about yourself, how can you love anyone else? Actual love has to start inside yourself.”Apparently the U.S. Congress didn't get the message when they passed the Bigly Ugly Bill that cuts Medicaid & other social services--including SNAP, the supplemental food program for children & families in need, & more—on July 3. This was when so many who expressed concern about their constituents losing healthcare flipped rapidly from caring about others to caring only about themselves as we approached the exact Venus/Uranus conjunction in Taurus on July 4. This week's podcast discusses the Capricorn Full Moon at @18'50” of the Capricorn/Cancer axis at 1:37 p.m. PT & 4:37 p.m. ET on July 10, when both luminaries square Ceres, the goddess of the grain, & Hygeia, the goddess of health, squares the transiting nodal axis. Ceres, known as the goddess of the grain, in tension with both luminaries highlights the chasm between compassion for others and selfishness. That's because, as always at a full Moon, the Moon reflects the light of the Sun back to itself, highlighting the Sun's shadow side. And the square of transiting Hygeia to the transiting nodal axis points to the tension between doing the right thing through compassionate understanding that everyone deserves healthcare & depriving them of it in order to save money. At this full Moon, the mature & responsible Capricorn Moon reminds the Cancer Sun of Forrest's advice to “…be wary of excessive self-indulgence, & of becoming so mired with your own needs & [in your own] issues that you ignore the pain of others,” & to release this negative energy during the waning portion of this monthly lunar cycle. So much for that, eh? This podcast outlines the details of what this latest piece of legislation contains, i.e., exactly how much money the U.S. Congress has agreed to strip from the poor and middle class in order to provide the wealthy—including billionaires—with more money to will to their heirs. We look also at the retrograde of Neptune in Aries on July 4, and the July 7 entrance of Uranus into Gemini for the next seven years, barring a short retrograde period from November through April of next year. We also note the upcoming retrogrades of Saturn & Mercury as well, and how with Mercury in Leo until September 2, we'll be hearing loud arguments about how this legislation will negatively affect those most in need among us. This is especially true, too, since Venus enters social, talkative Gemini on July 4 through August 25.This podcast explores the potential for changes in technology, electricity and our local communities when Uranus enters Gemini July 7, as well as the bigger picture energies of the longer cycles currently in play. Increased need for electrical energies & how that might affect local communities, apps that notify people when ICE is within a five-mile range, and greater issues around the collection of personal data cyber security threats, all likely all ramp up during this seven year period.Join us for all this & more Astro News You Can Use when this podcast drops on July 4 @ https://www.karmicevolution.com/astrologically-speaking See you then! According to John, truly knowing God is not just about believing the right things—it’s about living a life marked by obedience and love. This week, we see that Life with Him means loving as Jesus loved—sacrificially, selflessly, and sincerely. In a world full of division and self-interest, we’re called to be people of light, defined by how we love others.

A - About: This devotional emphasizes that true Christian love is rooted in God's love for us. It challenges believers to express genuine, sacrificial love for others—not out of fear or obligation, but because we have first been loved by God. B - Best Verse: 1 John 4:10–11 "In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another." C - Called to: We are called to love one another as God has loved us—practically, sacrificially, and sincerely—even when it is hard. This love is not permissive of sin but committed to others' eternal good.

Have you ever hesitated, wondering, Was that really God? You're not alone. This week on The Love Offering podcast, I'm joined by Abby McDonald to talk about her latest book, Surrendering Certainty: Hearing God Today by Letting Go of Tomorrow. In our conversation, we explore a powerful truth—God's voice wasn't meant to predict the future, but to guide us in peace today. If you've ever longed for clarity but found yourself stuck in indecision, doubting if you can really hear from God, this episode is for you. Abby shares how we can: Trade the need for control with the confidence of walking by faith Release the burden of needing to know what comes next Grow in our ability to discern God's voice through His Word Make decisions without second-guessing when God has already equipped us to move forward Let's surrender our craving for certainty and discover the freedom that comes with trusting the One who already holds tomorrow. Today Jon takes a unique look at the Great Commandment, found in Matthew 22, and challenges our listeners to get curious about their neighbor. After all, how can we love people if we do not seek to know them better? Want to discuss this concept more or have Jon speak at your next event? Shoot him an email at Jon@christianoutdoors.org. God Bless!
