Welcome to Sylvan Way and thanks for joining us as we worship Jesus! What the Bible say about Hell Hell is one of the most avoided topics in the church and one of the most misunderstood topics in culture. But Jesus talked about it clearly, not to manipulate people with fear, but to warn us with love and tell us the truth about eternity. In this message, we look at what the Bible actually teaches about hell, why a just God must deal with evil, and why the reality of judgment makes the cross of Christ so powerful. Hell is not a punchline or a metaphor for a hard life. It is the sobering reality of separation from God for those who reject Him. You'll also see why the gospel is not merely “try harder,” but God's rescue mission through Jesus. This message is meant to bring clarity, awaken urgency, and point you to the hope we have in Christ. If you've ever wrestled with questions like “How could a loving God allow hell?” or “What did Jesus mean when He warned about judgment?” this message is for you. What happens when a church does all the right things but with the wrong motivation? In this message, Pastor Eric Robertson shares our necessary response. Ultimately, the Book of Revelation is about a problem that is only solved when God's people wake up, repent, and faithfully wait on the return of Jesus. One of the worst problems is the one you don't know you have.Even worse are the problems you can see but don't recognize.Ephesus: HistoryEphesus was an influential city in the Roman world: a major port city in Asia Minor—economically powerful, culturally diverse, and religiously pluralistic. Faithfulness required constant discernment. The city was defined by idol worship. The Temple of Artemis was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Converting to Christianity meant rejecting the city's spiritual identity and economic system (Acts 19).Though the church seemed to be doing well, there was a glaring problem that John addressed. What Did It Mean: Revelation 2:1–7Each letter follows the criticism sandwich: (Good)(Bad)(Good).Jesus gives this critique while walking among the lampstands—the churches that illuminate Christ to the world. They served well, worked hard, corrected the wicked, removed toxic leaders, suffered faithfully, and didn't grow weary. Ephesus was a hard-working church.Imagine hearing: "You're great—but you don't love me."The letters were written to specific churches, but meant for all churches. What Does It Mean? This passage is often preached as a call to return to passion, but Jesus doesn't critique their passion.Paul once said of them: "Your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all God's people" (Eph. 1:15–16).The problem wasn't their works, but their why. They disconnected from the reason they exist.Returning to your first love is remembering why you do what you do: to love God and love others. When a church forgets its why, it doesn't stop working—it stops breathing. Our vision is Belong, Believe, Become, but Ephesus drifted into Believe, Become, Belong. When love is no longer the motivation, we build walls instead of bridges and become known for what we're against instead of Who we're for.How Do We Respond?1. Remember – "Consider how far you have fallen."Remember where you were when God found you and why the church exists.2. Repent – "Repent."Recognize how far you've drifted. The church illuminates Jesus, not itself.3. Return – "Do the things you did at first."Matthew 22:37–40: Love God and love your neighbor. If you don't love your neighbor, you don't have love at all.Closing: Revelation 2:7Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.Returning to our first love is a return to paradise—the life God intended. If we fail to hear, our lampstand will be removed. The church at Ephesus no longer exists—only ruins remain.Have we fallen from our first love?
Welcome to Faith Church Online! In most areas of life we tend to make things harder than they ought to be. That can be true of our faith as well. These next few weeks we will be exploring what it means to go back to the basics of faith. This week we begin in Matthew 22:34-40 on Jesus' teaching about the greater commandment. We hope this serves you well!

Jesus said the world would recognize His followers not by their opinions, politics, or ability to be right, but by their love. Yet today, Christians are more divided than ever. We argue, we condemn, we choose sides, and somewhere along the way, compassion has taken a back seat. In this episode, we're having an honest conversation about what it means to love others as Jesus commanded, even when it's uncomfortable, even when culture tells us to harden our hearts. We talk about empathy, humility, and servitude in a time of political tension, fear, and separation, and why distancing ourselves from the pain of others dehumanizes their experience. Through Scripture and reflection, this episode challenges us to examine whether we're more concerned with being right or being Christ-like. Because love isn't optional for a disciple, it's the evidence.FOLLOW US:@girlsirlpod@mariahclayton_Don't forget to leave a 5 star review!

In this week's message from James 2:1–13, we confront a challenge that hits close to home: how we treat people based on first impressions. James makes it clear—faith in Jesus and favoritism don't mix. Loving others the way God loves us means elevating spiritual values over social status. We'll talk about how easy it is to make relationship-defining decisions based on appearance, influence, or what someone can offer us. But Scripture reminds us that God doesn't see the way we see. While we're often drawn to outward success, God looks straight at the heart.James calls the church to be a community marked by justice and mercy, where true worth is never measured by net worth, and where God's acceptance matters more than human approval. Genuine faith shows up in how we love, serve, and care for those in need—especially the ones who can't repay us.In this message, we'll explore:✔ Why favoritism is more than a bad habit—it's a spiritual issue✔ How faith becomes visible through the way we treat others✔ The difference between social status and spiritual value✔ Why mercy is essential to living out the gospel✔ What it really means to “love your neighbor as yourself”✔ How the church is meant to reflect unity, justice, and graceIf you've ever caught yourself making assumptions, playing favorites, or chasing approval, this message invites you to see people—and yourself—through the lens of God's mercy. We are somebody, not because of what we bring to the table, but because of who we're with.

Before Jesus left earth, he told his disciples to let the whole world know about the gospel. That's why our vision at Fusion Christian Church is to "Tell Everyone" the good news of Jesus Christ. On our Mission Sunday, we celebrate the ways in which we participate in that mission locally and globally. In this sermon, guest pastor, Mark Blum, teaches about our role in carrying the gospel to everyone. If you are a believer, you ARE qualified.God doesn't always use the most impressive and qualified people to carry his message. In fact, he prefers to use people who are lowly in the world's eyes. The truth is, anyone who has been saved by Jesus has a story to tell about how the gospel changed them. Sharing that story is enough to get started with telling everyone. You'll learn more along the way, but if you have a Jesus story, you are qualified to start sharing it!Love God, Love Others, Tell Everyone. These three simple commands comprise our mission statement at Fusion Christian Church. They are drawn from Jesus' summary of the law into two commandments as well as the Great Commission. Part of the simple beauty of this mission is how each part of it logically flows out of the command before it. If we begin be loving God, the natural overflow of our love for God will be love for others. If we love others, the natural expression of that is to tell them the good news of Jesus.Live a life of LEGACY.Most people live their lives in survival mode. They are barely scraping by and don't have time to think much about the future. Fewer people live life in success. These people are comfortable. They don't have any major struggles and are usually content. This is better, but is it what God has for us? Fewer people still life a life of legacy. These people have moved beyond success and are living a life with a goal of making a difference in the world around them. It's not enough for these people to have success for themselves, they need to expand God's kingdom and leave a legacy behind them that will affect others for generations.
Busyness is a symptom of living in our technologically, less humane, and less relational world. God's word makes clear that tasks are important and good, when kept in their proper order and priority We are called to LOVE GOD and to LOVE OTHERS as our two top priorities. Busyness is a tool of the evil one if not the evil one himself. As such, let's make sure to order our time and priorities to reflect our love for God and for others. In Matthew 22, Jesus shares the two greatest commandments: (1) Love God with all our heart, soul, and mind and (2) Love others as ourselves. How do you know you're committed to loving God? When you delight in serving the Lord, our desire to please Him in word and deed continues to deepen. We begin to grow in Christ-like love towards His people. We can't help but share his love with others!
At Fusion Christian Church, Loving others is a major part of our church vision. This is because Jesus told us it is the second most important commandment, only beaten out by loving God. While this could easily be its own series, Pastor Matt will summarize some ways to love others in this message. We love people equally.God hates partiality. Partiality is when you show favoritism and don't treat people fairly. At Fusion Christian Church we strive to treat all people with justice and fairness, as God instructs. The bible leaves no room for us to be unfair. We must love all people equally. We love people by serving them.Serving others can take many different forms, but it is an essential way to show the love of Christ. All Christians need to be serving in one way or another, because that is an irreplacable way to show love. Just as Jesus showed his love by washing the disciples' feet, we too must show love by serving. We love people by forgiving like Christ. If serving is sometimes difficult, forgiveness can be even more difficult! Much could be said about forgiveness, but in short, Christians must not hold grudges. Whether or not another person accepts forgiveness, it is our place to offer it. If we refuse to offer forgiveness when God has forgiven us so much, we make ourselves hypocrites. Don't cling to bitterness, but forgive others as God forgave you.Three ways to embody love:-We love people in the gathering of believers.-We love people in the small groups.-We love people in relationships. What these three points encompass is three different levels of relationship. Christians need to love at the church level: we cannot neglect church! We also need to love at a small group level, participating in close-knit community with other Christians. Finally, we need to love individually, maintaining one-on-one accountability and familiarity. If we do these things, we will be well on our way to embodying the love of Christ.
Are you truly enjoying your relationships? In this thought-provoking episode, Barry Bennett explores how to break free from the bondage of unhealthy connections and embrace the freedom God offers for joyful relationships.

Most of us want to love people well—especially when they’re hurting—but if we’re honest, we don’t always know how. We worry about saying the wrong thing, doing too little, or showing up too late. And sometimes, because of that uncertainty, we end up doing nothing. That’s why I’m so grateful for this week’s episode of The Love Offering Podcast. I’m joined by Christy Gandy, owner of Lovewell Collective, whose own experience with grief shaped a beautiful mission: helping people show up for others with practical love, kindness, and care—especially in life’s hardest seasons. In our conversation, Christy gently reminds us that loving well isn’t about fixing someone’s pain. It’s about helping them feel seen, remembered, and cared for. Sometimes love looks like presence. Sometimes it looks like a note, a prayer, or a small gift left on a porch. And often, it’s the simplest gestures that leave the deepest mark. My prayer is that this conversation encourages you—not with pressure, but with possibility. May it remind you that love, offered faithfully and humbly, always counts. EVERYBODY was sure SOMEBODY would do it. ANYBODY could have done it, but NOBODY did it. EVERYBODY thought ANYBODY could do it, but NOBODY realized EVERYBODY wouldn't do it. In the end, EVERYBODY blamed SOMEBODY, when NOBODY did what ANYBODY could have done. Untimely, as a disciple of Jesus, if we're going to represent Jesus, be an expression of Him, we can't assume someone else will be the one to do it.

Love is the defining mark of a true follower of Christ — not just spoken love, but love that shows up in compassion, sacrifice, and everyday acts of care. In this touching daily prayer and devotional, Rachael Adams, host of The Love Offering, recalls the powerful example of love she witnessed while caring for her mother during a difficult hospital stay. Amid pain and uncertainty, she found beauty in the kindness exchanged between patients, families, and caregivers — living proof that love can flourish even in hardship. Jesus knew we would need each other. That’s why He gave His disciples this new command: to love one another as He has loved us. The early church lived this out so faithfully that they were recognized by outsiders for their radical generosity and unity (Acts 4:32–34). Their love wasn’t theoretical — it was tangible, visible, and transformative. When we choose to love others with that same self-giving, Christlike love, the world takes notice. Love is what sets us apart and points others to Jesus. Whether it’s a word of encouragement, an act of service, or simply showing up for someone in pain, every gesture of love testifies to the Gospel. The world is full of hurting hearts — people longing to know that someone cares. As followers of Christ, we have the privilege and calling to meet them with compassion, grace, and generosity. Love isn’t always easy, but it’s always worth it — because through love, others see Him. Today's Bible Reading:“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” – John 13:34–35
