    Ivy Insights

The Cycling Time Trial Podcast is an excellent show for anyone interested in time trials, with thoughtful and interesting guests and discussions. Host Mark does a great job in bringing out the best in his guests and creating a show that is both informative and entertaining. Whether you are a time trialist or a triathlete, this podcast is a must-listen.

One of the best aspects of The Cycling Time Trial Podcast is the quality of the guests. Mark manages to get big names in the aero world to come on the show, such as Zinn, Xavier, Flo Wheels, and Hutch. This allows for deep dives into the science and techniques behind aero riding. The episodes on heart health are particularly timely and poignant. The podcast also goes beyond just gear choices and explores life choices and training choices as well.

Another great aspect of this podcast is its embrace of the technical aspects of the sport. It delves into topics like training and equipment, providing valuable information for time trialists at all levels of experience. Even if you have been racing for several years, you will still find these topics interesting, as they offer new perspectives and insights.

While it's hard to find any major flaws with The Cycling Time Trial Podcast, one minor criticism could be that there is sometimes too much focus on technical details. However, this can also be seen as a positive aspect depending on your interests. Some listeners may prefer more discussion on broader topics related to time trials.

In conclusion, The Cycling Time Trial Podcast is well worth your time if you ride time trials or any discipline of cycling. Mark does an excellent job selecting interesting guests and structuring interviews around insightful questions. The podcast offers valuable information that can help improve performance and make better gear choices. Whether you are new to time trials or an experienced rider looking to take your performance to the next level, this podcast has something for everyone.

How to be a faster cyclist: Focus on problems over products. In 1994, Graeme Obree successfully broke the world hour record on a homemade bicycle he'd put together with leftover scrap and some old bearings from a washing machine. Despite race officials attempting to block him intermittently as he rode around the track and the governing body trying to legislate him back into obscurity, this was a man who had the foresight to focus on the problem associated with going as fast as possible on a bike and the instincts to know how best to find a solution, no matter how radical. When it comes to getting faster, there's always a raft of cool equipment to buy or upgrade to. Sadly, if you were hoping I was going to recommend buying wheel X or handlebar Y in this podcast, you're going to be disappointed. Many thanks for the downloads and support.
