This week, we're featuring a conversation with Mohammad Hureini (twitter / instagram), a young activist from Masafer Yatta, an area in the hills south of Hebron in the occupied West Bank in Palestine. Mohammad is a member of a non-violent group called Youth of Sumud that struggles to hold on to the sites and lives of Palestinian villages despite displacement by the Israeli military occupation as well as the illegal zionist settlements (like the neighboring Havat Ma'on) and their routine violence and impunity. For the hour, Mohammad speaks about the work of Youth of Sumud, their recent report co-published with The Good Shepherd on increased settler violence entitled Indigenous Erasure: How the zionist movement is using state sanctioned violence to eliminate the Palestinian communities of the West Bank, the South African genocide case against Israel in the International Court of Justice and other topics. First up, we're sharing a blast from the past blast from the past, an interview that we conducted in 2013 via our comrades from A-Radio Berlin with a participant in the autonomous anti-capitalist street movement in Germany in the latter half of the 20th century known as Autonomen. Specifically, the guest speaks about the context of anonymous street actions during May Day of 1987 in the district of then-West Berlin known as Kreuzberg and about the tactic that became known as Black Bloc. Apologies for the audio quality of this portion. Then, you'll be hearing portions of the May 2022 episode of Bad News: Angry Voices From Around The World by the A-Radio Network, of which the already-mentioned Berlin crew is also a member. You'll hear: comrades from Free Social Radio 1431AM in Thessaloniki, Greece with some updates from that country. Then, friends at Črna luknja in Lubjlana, Slovenia, shares an interview with members of the autonomous social center in Trieste known as Germinal on the 10th anniversary of that space. Finally, you'll hear A-Radio Vienna sharing the call-out for the 2022 June 11th Day of Solidarity with Marius Mason and All Long-Term Anarchist Prisoners. Silvia Federici is a feminist activist and scholar whose writing and political activities contribute to a broad Autonomist tradition. With intellectual generosity, sharp, nonconformist thought, and searing critiques of capitalist society, her work has inspired social activists associated with the rise of the alter-globalization movement. Host Sylvia Richardson speaks to Silvia about the COVID19 crisis, how capitalism is a system in constant crisis and how they will use COVID to further consolidate wealth in society, how we don’t want to return to what is considered normal, how communities have come together to face this crisis and how we need community to come together after COVID to address the wide spread job losses and social despair.

Autonomist feminist scholar Silvia Federici (Caliban and the Witch)outlines the Wages for Housework campaign and theoretical contributions to the broader feminist movement in the 1970s, and ties this history to the present #metoo moment. Federici highlights the role of women's reproductive labor in maintaining capitalist domination and the systemic design of violence against women. She also offers strategies for resistance and revolution, noting the Wages for Housework campaign's strategic vitality in undermining capitalism. This talk is an audio excerpt from a presentation given by Silvia Federici at Oregon State University on February 14, 2018. The talk was hosted by the Coalition of Graduate Employees, Anarres Project for Alternative Futures, and the Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies (WGSS) department at OSU.
