While I don't reject everything he does, I have some pretty fundamental issues with how he treats Europe, NATO or America's allies and its international commitments in general. And you also might have noticed that many of my guests are very critical of Donald Trump's foreign policy as well - just in recent months I spoke with John Bolton, Anne Applebaum, Francis Fukuyama all of whom have been even more critical than me. However, I don't want to close myself off in my own bubble, and I think it's good to be open to ideas of people with other views, especially if they argue in good faith and if we agree on some basic values.And that's why I'm speaking with Victor today. He is a pretty staunch Trump supporter but he also has many views that are not typically associated with Trump - he strongly supports NATO, he is a major supporter of Ukraine, he is hawkish on Russia and advocates for the U.S. to arm and he is overall the type that most Donald Trump supporters might call a “neoconservative” with views that Donald Trump himself has frequently criticized.And so we speak about how all those things go together. How does protecting the postwar-liberal order go together with Trump talking about annexing Greenland and Canada, why didn't Trump end the war in 24 hours as he promised or whether he was naive in his plan for how to do that, how can Europe be in an alliance with a U.S. president who doesn't believe in alliances or why he thinks that Trump is the most pro-European U.S. president in history.To clarify, I don't agree with many of the views that Victor has talked about on European or Americans domestic politics but that's not what the podcast is about and I didn't want to focus on. And I'm still not sure whether I agree with anything that he said - but despite that, I think that it's a fascinating conversation that I was really glad to have. And I heard a perspective that might not be the same as mine but that I still found to be really interesting - I hope you'll feel the same way.

Welcome to Friday! A couple of days off…then a short week…and then it's Thanksgiving! I don't know why, but I feel more excited for turkey day this year than I have been in awhile. It's not like we've got anything special planned. But for some reason, I'm a bit amped for the gluttony! Speaking of over-indulging on Thanksgiving, I took a look at the dinner's impact on your health, and also the things that make your home perfect for hosting Thanksgiving with the family/friends. In sports, the Bills lost to the Texans last night to kick off Week 12 in the NFL, an update on Josh Jacob's condition, the Packers get flexed in Week 14, the Bucks lost in overtime last night to the 76ers, the Badger men's basketball is at #9 BYU this afternoon, and the football team takes the field against #21 Illinois tomorrow. Elsewhere in sports, Alexander Ovechkin continues to set records, and the Athletic Director at Baylor has stepped down and is under investigation….for something. Is it too soon for Christmas music? I would say yes…especially if it's constant. Now, if you toss in a rando Xmas tune every couple of hours…that's fine. But 24 hours of holiday music is too much for me right now. An update on a Superman comic that three brothers found in their mom's attic after she passed. Bath & Body Works is attempting to make a NYC subway smell like Christmas. In sports, the Bucks play the 76ers tonight, Badger men's basketball has a tough test tomorrow afternoon against #9 BYU, the football team is at home against #21 Illinois on Saturday, Week 12 in the NFL kicks off tonight with the Bills & Texans on Thursday Night Football, Brandon Woodruff is going to be back with the Brew Crew next season, and the Brewers are going to be taking on the Braves in the 2026 MLB Little League Classic! Elsewhere in sports, Major League Baseball announced some new media deals yesterday with ESPN & Netflix, the "Field of Dreams" game is returning next season, and an update on the Patrick Beverly case. Another 'meh' day out there with a high of just 40° and plenty of clouds. I've got more leaves to rake today, which I'm not entirely enthused about. Elsewhere in sports, the Bucks are off until tomorrow, an update on Giannis' injury, the Badgers play on Friday against BYU, Ja'Marr Chase's suspension was upheld by the NFL, and Aaron Rodgers won't need surgery on his injured wrist. The new CFP rankings are out, Draymond Green gets warned by the NBA for going at it with a fan, Shedeur Sanders becomes the latest professional athlete to get robbed while playing, and a suspect in the murder of John Beam is in custody and allegedly admitted to the killing. In the news this morning, it looks like the Epstein files are finally going to get released, a guy named J.D. Vance is going to jail for threatening to kill the Vice President…J.D. Vance. The UK is banning the resale of tickets It's International Men's Day, and we're one day closer to Thanksgiving! Talked about a couple of turkey-day items including a new, squeezable gravy from Heinz…and some topics to avoid during Thanksgiving conversations at the table. A couple of cops in New Jersey recently rescued a driver from a burning vehicle after it crashed, and a casino in Virginia just handed out 500 free turkeys to families in need in their community! Raccoons are wild animals, but so were dogs at one point. Could raccoons become our next house pet? Rain, snow, cold temps. Winter is knocking on the door! Woke up to a wintry mix this morning and it looks like more is on the way on Thursday. In the news this morning, a couple of national park morons including a dude who got too close to a bison…and a guy who pepper-sprayed a pack of wolves. Elsewhere in the news, the USPS is going to increase it's rates on shipping and a flight had to return to Boston after a passenger smoked weed on board the plane. And artificial trees are WAY more popular than real trees. Sad. In sports, the Cowboys beat the Raiders last night to wrap up week 11 in the NFL, a look at week 12's schedule, the Bucks lost last night to the Cavs and Giannis suffered a groin injury. The Badgers improved to 4-0 on the season with a win last night and Ja'Marr Chase got suspended for spitting on another player. Let you know what's new on New Release Tuesday and talked to the host of the Wisco Sports Show…the one & only Grant Bilse! A great story about a dog that fell down a cliff & escaped with almost no injuries. And another about a woman who got her purse back thanks to a couple of Good Samaritans. Hallelujah, I've got a new truck! Finally got the insurance money…signed the loan paperwork…and picked it up late yesterday afternoon. Feels good to be an adult again. Gonna be a busy weekend cleaning it and putting all my stuff in there. In the news this morning, the latest on possible tariff checks from the government, a horrific story about a 14 year-old girl in Wisconsin who weighed just 35 pounds, a Russian A.I. bot faceplants at it's debut, and the Mega Millions drawing is tonight! In sports, the Patriots beat the Jets last night on Thursday Night Football to kick off Week 11 in the NFL. The Bucks are at home tonight against Charlotte, the Badgers are at #2 Indiana tomorrow morning at 11am, Brock Purdy should be back under center for the 49ers this weekend, and MLB announced it's AL & NL MVPs yesterday.
