"Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving." Colossians 2:6-7, ESV
Pastor Micah shared a message for Back to Church Sunday called "Rooted In Faith" By looking at the teachings of Jesus and the Apostle Paul we get a clear understanding of the importance of having deep roots spiritually. Life will throw challenges our way so we must be able to stay connected to Christ and stand firm in our faith! A life built on Jesus overflows with purpose and meaning. The Bible compares this kind of connection to a vine with many branches. Here are the 3 main points from this week's message:Faith in Jesus grows deep roots!Roots of Faith grow in Fellowship (Community)Jesus is the Vine. We are the Branches.Bottom Line: Historically, God has used people who are deeply rooted in their faith to make a difference in the world.

Jesus the Christ made the world this promise: "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." How does that meaningful life happen. It happens at multiple levels and has various attachment point, but in the end it is quite simple: He wants to restore what our ancestors abdicated, what we rebelled against, and what the devil lies about to repent. But Jesus wants us to ask him: "Thy Kingdom come and Thy will be done!" How on earth does this happen? Simple, actually - but not without consequence. Our guest Speaker Walter Nusbaum delivered a powerful message to make us think about God's process of restoration, and then Sean sat down with Walter and then Rick for deeper discussion! Make sure that you listen to Walter's message, first, then come back and hear the rest!
Sorry these are just now getting posted. Still trying to get caught back up after our mission trip to Poland! What an awesome opportunity God gave us! You will hear more in message 442. Back to Church Sunday! Sunday, September 18th 2022 When life does not go according to our plans, it is easy to become discouraged. When we feel out of control, we have the tendency to lose hope. However, whenever we find ourselves feeling this way, we must remember that God has a plan for each and every one of our lives. His plan is to prosper us and not to harm us. His plan is to give us the strength to overcome. His plan is to hold us with His never-ending love. The Church is the place where we discover this plan for our lives. Hope happens here. We can't do life alone. No matter how out of control my life may seem, I know God has a plan for me. In Jesus, I have everything I need to overcome because I am loved by the God of the universe. That gives me hope during hard times. Would you join us this week to begin to discover God's plan for your life? --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/escape-urself-podcast/support
It's so easy and natural to seek revenge. It's is difficult and supernatural to leave it in the hands of God! In this message from the "God In the Ruins" series, Pastor Joey looks at the Book of Obadiah, specifically Obadiah 1:3, 10-15 as the prophet discusses the pride of Edom and the vengeful attitude of this "brother" to Israel. The Edomites were descendants of Esau and therefore blood brothers to the nation of Israel, yet their histories were often characterized by a "Hatfields vs. McCoys" feud. After Jerusalem is invaded, the Edomites rejoiced and even assisted in the devastation to their neighbor. As a result of their pride and sense of superiority, God promises judgement upon Edom. The book shows us that vengeance is in the hands of God, not us! We are to show kindness, hospitality, and brotherly love to our neighbor, not hatred and bitterness. This is the message of the gospel! God's loved us even when we were enemies of the Cross and provided the means for our salvation. Jesus humbled Himself to die for the hostile! The gospel calls us to show the same level of love and compassion. Message preached on Back To Church Sunday, September 18, 2022 at ParkerDC.
