We live very “smart” lives equipped to stay connected anywhere, any time. Getting connected is easy, securing it may be a fool's errand if not approached properly. Say goodbye to the days of signature-based detection and say hello to IoT data anomaly and volatility predictive analysis for advanced “on the go” monitoring, detection and response. In this podcast, we will discuss novel approaches in using data analytics models from financial market trading systems (quant) to determine security volatility when faced with unprecedented and overwhelming volumes of data. We'll propose potential solutions called the Cyber VIX and engineering concepts to test cyber defenses such as the “shake down test” and where failures and blind spots can be predicted and modeled. Speakers: Peter Tran, CISO & EVP Global Cyber and Product Security Solutions, InferSight LLC Kacy Zurkus, Content Strategist, RSA Conference

In Managing Cyber Exposure: 2020 and Beyond – Part 4, Host and Director of Faculty Development, Jay Williams, CIC, CRM, CRIS, MLIS, AIP, AAI, ACSR; interviews Paul Burkett, J.D., CIC, CRM, CPCU, ARM, ALCM, discuss common exclusions and coverage provisions, available markets, and solutions currently available to agents. Many businesses conducting e-commerce are concerned about business income exposure and crime. Although what's covered by cyber insurance is very broad, we know that cyber insurance doesn't cover everything.Tune in the parts 1-3 to learn more about what agents need to know.Part 1, Part 2, Part 3
In Part 3 of Managing Cyber Exposure: 2020 and Beyond, Host and Director of Faculty Development, Jay Williams, CIC, CRM, CRIS, MLIS, AIP, AAI, ACSR, continues his conversation with Paul Burkett, J.D., CIC, CRM, CPCU, ARM, ALCM, about risk management as it relates to cyber exposure, particularly with risk transfer. E-commerce transactions can create the potential for negligence that could lead to loss scenarios. Risk transfer through contract aims to limit these loss scenarios as much as possible. This non-insurance risk transfer tool needs to be combined with the procurement of insurance coverages that transfer the risk to the insurance marketplace.
Excerpt From Part 1:Cyber extortion is growing. Risk Management professionals are dealing with the issues of unintentional disclosure of data, damaged and stolen data, data restoration, and malicious breaches. We are also witnessing more unauthorized data collections of intellectual property which cause significant losses that are typically not covered under cyber policies. In addition, we are aware that devices are constantly fighting phishing, spoofing, farming, and smishing attempts. We must also account for vendor errors as well as the technology errors and omissions claims that come with them, not to mention losses caused by business interruption, extra expenses, and expediting expense exposures. As the world of cloud computing continues to explode and data remains at risk, what are we to do in response to these evolving exposures?
