**The Clay Edwards Show — I Made Zach Find Something Positive About Jackson** I told Zach Servis he had five seconds before we came back from break: name one good thing happening in Jackson that isn't a restaurant or a museum. Person, place, crew, whatever. Just don't give me the usual “great people” cop-out. He came with Lock Ward, Roger Parks, and the Friday cleanup crews still picking up trash and pressure-washing storm drains the city won't touch. Pierce doing the heavy washing. Timothy White working the Meadowbrook homeless mess and trying to turn scrap tires into something useful. Then his wife's $10 screening of a midwife documentary at Duling Hall on October 17. That's the list. I still said they shouldn't have to do the city's job, Locke already had his car stolen for the trouble, and people will throw trash at their feet while they're working. Zach still gave it. That's the segment.

This is a rewind episode - designed to bring new attention to the back catalogue of the podcast. But it's also something else. The audio you'll be hearing is actually a chapter of my audiobook for my book, Bare Bones. I included Meadowbrook Doe's case in that book and thought I'd share that chapter here to help bring some new ears to the case. If you'd like to listen to the whole audiobook you can purchase it on any audiobook platform including at any of the following links: Audible: https://www.amazon.com/Bare-Bones-Cases-Crime-Africa/dp/B0GFB187YL/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3B98LQUOAUXCU&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.loOTtBIVZgpLGkYVLz2oGQ.om3t0wgPWjRq-dPYXX44zM6RRD0oyZOi0X7AITvyyX0&dib_tag=se&keywords=bare-bones-cold-cases-from-true-crime-south-africa+by+Nicole+Engelbrecht&qid=1768190789&s=audible&sr=1-1 Kobo: https://www.kobo.com/us/en/audiobook/bare-bones-24?sId=c159a2ce-1398-4618-8cab-e1e0eb57b69c&ssId=vTZKEx-JKmbnaetb-XB4g&cPos=1 Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/5lbceaLDNSgNLLnO3Icfo8 Apple: https://books.apple.com/us/audiobook/bare-bones-cold-cases-from-true-crime-south-africa/id1857379297?uo=4 - 24-hr trauma helpline 082-821-3447 - Support the show on Patreon https://www.patreon.com/truecrimesa - Support the show on PayBru https://paybru.co.za/communities/true-crime-south-africa - Get TCSA and General True Crime Merch on https://sacriminologist.co.za/shop/ 10% off with code TCSA sitewide Buy Bare Bones Audiobook on Audible · Buy Bare Bones Audiobook on Kobo · Instagram · Pinterest · Facebook · YouTube · Twitter · LinkedIn

Nathan and Brad sit down with Grant Austin, manager of Baba Java's original Hoover cafe.Grant shares his journey from growing up in Alabama, training as a machinist, to stepping into coffee full-time. You'll hear about his love for coffee (Ethiopia and PNG are favorites), playing guitar in Rush of Fools, balancing life with his wife Maddie (a teacher), and some memorable cafe stories (including a runaway dog and an underclothed man).
