Dark Water/Death in Heaven; Adam, Debbie, Kirby and Mary take a trip to the afterlife that nobody would want. We also have feedback, news and what we watched (in the last 6 weeks)
Danny Pink: we hardly knew ye. Seriously. We didn't really ever get a chance to know you. But now you're gone! And you do go out with a bang. Plus, we finally see who the hell this Missy character is. Also: a half-great story from years past with all the trappings that Porter loves.
We have reached the end of the 12th Doctor's first season. Victoria and Ross have new insights on this veiwing of these two episodes. Missy grand scheme come to it's climax, Danny dies, Clara greaves, and the Doctor is President of Earth, oh by the way that is a terrible idea. All these things seem new to Ross and that alone sparks some good conversation. #DoctorWho #Missy #Clara #TARDIS #12thDoctor #PeterCapaldi #JennaColeman #MichelleGomez

The weekend following Thanksgiving 1981, tragedy struck the pages of LA County as they announced the sad drowning of actress Natalie Wood. Natalie was a Star of such films as the original Miracle on 34th street, Rebel Without A Cause, and Westside Story. There were three other people aboard the boat that weekend: Natalie's husband Robert Wagner, friend and actor Christopher Walken, and the yacht captain Dennis Davern. The stories are varied and have changed over the years. Who isn't telling the whole story? Let's present the evidence and you can make up your own mind.
David and Matt return to series 8 to discuss the twisty finale "Dark Water/Death in Heaven". There's also part 2 of the "Alien Arena" choose your own adventure book and tangents aplenty, including some revolting novelty beer talk.Doctor Who theme by Ron Grainer, arranged by Alexander Erben.Talk to us! Plus we go head-to-head in our play-a-long quiz with Dark Water / Death in Heaven themed questions and we hear what our listeners think of this story in our regular feature, The Last Chance Saloon.

As we lead into the second year of no Doctor Who in the span of 3 years, Bigger on the Inside decided to designate 2019 to be the year of Doctor Who commentaries. 12 episodes, 12 months. In this one, NickName selected the Series 8 two-part finale Dark Water/Death in Heaven. Aired: January 2019
It's "Earthshock" versus "Dark Water" & "Death in Heaven" in a somber episode focused on the grim impact of death. Our bonus is "P.S." featuring Brian in a very special webcast.
It's the first part of our big look at the Master, so basically we're just going to be praising Derek Jacobi and Michelle Gomez for most of the episode. They are just so, so good at what they do, while "Utopia" and "Dark Water"/"Death In Heaven" are a fascinating mix of obvious flaws and sneaky greatness. The series three episode has fun just letting all its continuity collide and discovering character moments amid all the mess, while the series eight two-parter is a little too keen to tell you the point of all this, but it's frequently brilliant all the same. We'll be back next week with a look at the next round of Master stories, "The Sound Of Drums"/"Last Of The Time Lords" and "The Magician's Apprentice"/"The Witch's Familiar"!
As the eighth modern season of Doctor Who comes to a close, trees spring up overnight to protect the world ("In the Forest of the Night") and an old frenemy returns to menace (and kiss) The Doctor ("Dark Water" / "Death in Heaven"). It's back! Doctor Who is back on our screens! Tom and Louis discuss the long-awaited premiere of series nine, and weigh in on the Doctor, Missy, Clara, and all the surprise reveals and whatnot. Also discussed is the theatrical screening of Dark Water/Death in Heaven. There's so much going on we forget to even mention Jenna Coleman's officially confirmed departure from Doctor Who! Oops! All this, and stay to the end for a (moderately) important announcement.
On this fun filled episode, Jason and Paul are joined by their Patrick Troughton of guests, Kyle Avery! Series 9 is upon us all, and they're all extremely excited! The trio previews Series 9 with a brief recap of the Dark Water/Death in Heaven theatrical screenings and a LOT of rampant speculation. Finally, they answer the question of where they would take Series 9 if they were the Doctor Who show runner! What could go wrong, there?

In this episode, Daniel and Shana discuss the two-part Series 8 finale, "Dark Water/Death in Heaven." Look forward to discussions of death (both real-life and fictitious), competence in Doctor Who, the spinning of wheels in an attempt to hoodwink the audience, and Danny's manpain being more important than the life of a child. Main Topic: Dark Water/Death in Heaven. Shana plays with her phone. Lying to Cybermen. Daniel forgets the title of "Revenge of the Cybermen." Previewing future podcast episodes. A social media moment. Going to Chicago TARDIS. On to Dark Water. Pirates! How do Moffat characters experience the death of other characters? Inconsistency vs. ambiguity. Good ol' J.K.! Silliness. Keys and lava. Shana gets very personal about the grief process. Deliciousness buried in crap. Series 8 as "Doctor Who does the Sopranos." Refactive index doesn't mean that. Gruesomeness and "The Three Words." Remembering stuff that happened all of two seasons ago. Ranty Shana. Crying Shana. Death in "Father's Day" versus death in Series 8. Line reading a scene from Moffat Who. The female master. Danny Pink as a war criminal. "The brown kid." The unsurprising surprises. The lack of forward momentum. A musical interlude. Things we liked in "Death in Heaven." Kate Stewart and Harriet Jones. Osgood! The staggering lack of competence in Series 8. The Doctor, the Brig, and handcuffs. Why wasn't someone shushing Peter Capaldi all series? Shana imagines the Doctor Who Writer's Room. Daniel has an extended riff on a completely unrelated matter. Puppy containment issues. The Doctor isn't really the main character. Intent vs. execution. Praise for Michelle Gomez. Praise for Moffat's writing of the Master. When's the last time you saw Clara being clever? A tangent on "The Shakespeare Code." Production design. President Doctor. The "Doctor and General" debate and the Doctor's dislike of soliders." The Cyber-Brig. Never trust a hug. An abrupt ending.
