He is also co-creator/composer/music producer of the new Musical Animated Edutainment TV series, Rhythm Warriors, produced by Emofront and Presto Music in association with Sparky Animation Studios for this fun episode.  Mr. Jones recently launched a new piano/music theory course for young students called “Rhythm Warriors Piano Zone,” which presented at a 3-day online event called the Ultimate Music Business Summit, which took place a few weeks ago. Jones, who explores the intersection of church and oneness versus rugged individualism. Father Jones also shares his unique vocation story, we'll hear his understanding of what it means to be a priest of the neighborhood, and we'll talk about how our vision of heaven can be limiting, but the reign of God has space for everyone. ABOUT THE GUEST: Father Jones holds a Bachelor of Science degree in the field of Economics at Grambling State University and a Master of Divinity degree from the University of St. Mary of the Lake Mundelein Seminary. On December 15, 1989 the late Joseph Cardinal Bernardin ordained David to the priesthood of Jesus Christ. In 1993, after only three years of ordination, he became the youngest person appointed pastor in the Archdiocese. He is currently assigned as pastor of St. Benedict the African Parish in the Englewood neighborhood in Chicago and as an Archdiocesan Dean. Father David A. David A. Jones co-founded Humana Inc. in 1961 and served as chief executive officer for 37 years and board chair for 44 years prior to retiring in 2005. He served as founding board chairman of Hospira, NYSE (HSP) until his retirement in 2007. He is a retired director of Abbott Laboratories and several other companies. Mr. Jones was a member of The Business Roundtable and co-founder and past chair of the Healthcare Leadership Council, a group of about 50 CEOs of the nation’s largest health care organizations. Mr. Jones, a native of Louisville, Kentucky, and his wife Betty have five children and eleven grandchildren. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Louisville in 1954, where he won the outstanding senior award. He also became a Certified Public Accountant that year. After three years of Navy service he entered Yale University, earning a law degree (JD) in 1960, while also serving on the economics faculty from 1958 to 1960. He received the Yale Law School Medal in 1990 and the Yale Medal in 1992. In 2003, he received Romania’s highest civilian award, the Order of Merit, for his role from 1990-2006 in rebuilding that nation’s devastated health care system. He holds honorary doctorates from the Chicago Medical School, the Claremont Graduate School, the University of Louisville, Middlebury College, Transylvania University and Ovidius University, Constanta, Romania. At the request of Mr. Peter Drucker, Mr. Jones served as the founding board chairman of the Peter Drucker Graduate Management Center, Claremont Graduate School, California. He is founding board chairman of Endeavor Louisville. David Jones Sr. co-founded Humana Inc. and considers the good job opportunities and chance for success that the company ultimately provided as his greatest achievement. Treating people the way he wants to be treated is his guiding principle. In 1961, Louisville-native David Jones Sr., with his late partner Wendell Cherry, borrowed $1,000 and founded the company, Extendicare. Before the decade was though, it became the largest nursing home company in the U.S. In 1974, the company was re-named Humana, Inc. Today, Humana is a Fortune 100 health benefits company with revenue of $30 billion, 30,000 employees, and almost 12 million customers across the nation. In 2005, after 37 years as CEO and 44 years as board chair, Jones retired from Humana, and was succeeded by his son. Jones and his business partner were instrumental in the opening of the Kentucky Center for the Arts. His many other achievements include receiving the Yale Medal, the highest award for outstanding volunteer service, and the Order of Merit in 2003, Romania’s highest civilian award. He also holds honorary doctorates from universities across the globe. Jones and his wife Betty have five children and eleven grandchildren.
