Today, we’re going to be talking about how to get back to you. Then, I get to sit down with my good friend (and amazing Bible teacher) Kristi McLelland. Kristi has impacted my life in more ways than I can count. I just know you’ll love her. I want to end the show with a few questions to help you get to know God even better.   Do You Know Who God Is? It’s so easy to get wrapped up in the busyness of life, isn’t it? You change the diapers, get the snacks, prep the lunches, and try to make it to the meetings. Then one day you stop, look up, and realize you’ve lost your spark or the thing that makes you you. If you want to get back to you, you need to know four things: Who God is Who you are Where you are Where you're going If you know these four things, and if you can reset and refocus, you can get back to you and the truth of who you are and who you were created to be. When you try to figure out who you are without having an accurate picture of God, it's like looking in a blurry mirror—you can't see yourself, and you can't see what you're doing now. You can never get back to you until you understand the one who created you.   How to Better Understand Who God Is with Kristi McLelland Y’all, I’m so excited about today’s interview with Kristi McLelland. Kristi is a brilliant Bible teacher and loves to serve as the bridge between the Western world and the lands of the Bible. Kristi and I dive into the topic of who God is. We talk about: Asking yourself a specific question every time you read the Bible Posturing yourself to receive Believing that God is a Father who runs after you Meeting God in desert places   One Important Thing You Need to Know About God “I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.” 2 Corinthians 6:18 (NIV) This verse is such an amazing reminder that God isn’t this distant, critical, unkind God in heaven. He’s a dad. He's your dad. He loves you like a father loves a child. And regardless of what your relationship is like with your earthly father, your father in heaven is so far beyond anything you could ever imagine. I want you to sit with these questions as you journal and pray about this and consider what it means for you: What’s your relationship like with your earthly father? How has that helped or hindered your relationship with your Heavenly Father? What does God tell you about himself in His Word?

Living in an upside down world might be trendy and rad, and create a memorable experience (for only a chaotic minute). Did you know that last year, there was even a tree, an upside down tree, sold at Target for close to $1000. Now I'm all for beautiful trees, but is setting the trend really worth the cost? You better believe it!! God set the trend before we even knew there was a trend. The creator of the universe decided to send a part of Him, His son to the world that He created to connect to our physical world. An upside down Christmas! God wanted to know us from all aspects of our lives, the world He created and as His creation. So what better way than an upside down Christmas. The K.I.S.S. ~ An upside down Christmas! And truly that is exactly as God sees it. Him sending His only Son, Jesus Christ, to the earth. The star upon the tree really came down first to you and me. So why shouldn't we have an upside down Christmas? The star pointing at you! The greatest gift He gave Himself.... YOU!!! But unfortunately, we tend to live our own trends and set our own rules wishing for something more in life. What if you followed the trend set by your Heavenly Father? What if you did Christmas the way He sees it? Now that doesn't mean you have to go out and purchase a $1000 tree that hangs from the ceiling. That might be a little much, even for God. However, what if you take your heart and turn it upside down See life through the eyes of the Babe wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger. The wonderment of what He saw daily in His creation. The hope He knows exists amongst the chaos. Then you would know the joy, the love, and the hope God wants you to have every day of your life. Now, it won't look the way you think it should. You won't always get what you want. But the trade off for always searching for perfection will gain you freedom in living the heavenly designed life here on earth until God calls you home. An upside down Christmas. Joy everlasting. What do you do when the world draws you away from The Heavenly Father? What do you do when it is dark and you don't know how to get back to Him? Well you call out to Him. You can be sure that He will hear and He will answer your call. In Psalms 141:1 we read; “LORD, I cry out to You; Make haste to me! Give ear to my voice when I cry out to You.” If you find yourself separated from God and it is dark just keep calling out to Him and He will keep answering you. You will never forget the sound of His voice as it leads you home.
