In episode #10 I am talking about two things - Sharing your testimony and putting on the Armor of God. I also share my own personal struggle with letting my guard down. Here I am to tell you about my most recent struggle with depression. Now, before I get started I will say this has not been my only struggle with depression and definitely not the worst one. “Out of the Dark: My Journey Through the Shadows to Find God's Joy” by Mandisa. October 2, 2022 SS, Revelation 2-3.I observed something this week when reading the book of Revelation chapters 2 and 3, and I wanted to share it with you. I probably have heard this before, or saw it before, but it really stuck out this time reading through the New Testament. Perhaps the most well-known repeated feature of these short letters to the churches is the call for those who have an ear to hear. Another aspect of them that is well-known is the criticisms that the Lord lays at the feet of many of the churches for areas where they need to repent. And we need to heed all of those. But there is another repeated feature that is an encouragement. I am encouraged by these words. I hope you are too.

The reason the podcast is called grief to great day is because even though getting from the depths of grief to having a great day isn't quick or easy or anything like you thought, it is POSSIBLE. And as you walk through grief and then become ready to build another life and discover new purpose, how do go about figuring out what that looks like? How do you put your hands to the work you are created to do? The first few 'Purpose After Loss' episodes are going to be about building a foundation from which to create a meaningful life. So, even if you are in the beginning days and weeks of your loss, this will be helpful to you. When life is the hardest (in grief and even after) you must be grounded in your faith; you have to be sure that God will fulfill His promises regardless of how it looks and how it feels. In this episode, I'll share how to create a Faith Resume. This is a personal tool to return to and read – to go back and remind yourself of the goodness of God in YOUR life. You should add to your faith resume as time goes on because hard times will come again, and it becomes easy to forget what God HAS done as we hurt and focus on what God hasn't done. Ever wonder why being consistent with your food, workouts, and motivation is SO hard? Women email me daily with questions like... "Why do I keep quitting?!” “Why can't I be consistent? I do really well for a couple of weeks, but then I give up!” “Why do I always start strong and then quit my fitness goals? How do I see it through?” "How do you do it?!" Sister, the answer is simple and I'm sharing it today on Episode 138 of the STRONG. CONFIDENT. HIS. Podcast HERE to discover How to be Consistent with Healthy Eating, Working Out, and Staying Motivated: 5 Steps to Overcome Quitting!! I want to encourage you through a prayer I wrote for my new book, Fit God's Way. Dear God, The struggle to find the motivation to be consistent with my fitness goals has been a battle all my life. But in You, I am not a quitter. I am an Overcomer (1 John 5:5). Your Word says, “forgetting what lies behind and straining toward what is ahead, I can press on toward the goal to win the prize for which you have called me in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 3:13–14). Fill me with Your presence, Father. I want to forget my past failures and recognize that I have this treasure in a jar of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from You and not from me (2 Corinthians 4:7). Today, I'm lying down every time I've quit in the past. I declare that I am done with being a poor steward of my body. No matter what comes, I'm pressing on and promising to rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, and be constant in prayer (Romans 12:12). When the trials come. The enemy tests me, I will hold onto Your Word that says, “You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you because he trusts in you” (Isaiah 26:3). By the power of the Holy Spirit working in me, I will cross the finish line of my fitness goals and give You all the glory by saying, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith” (2 Timothy 4:7). Father God, it brings me to my knees to know that I did not choose You. Still, You chose me and appointed me to go and bear fruit, and that my fruit should remain, that whatever I ask You in the name of Jesus, You will give to me (John 15:16). I'm asking and believing and trusting in You alone to empower me to press on and have victory over my fitness, my wholeness, my calling, my everything. In Jesus' name, amen. Remember you are Strong. Confident. His. God bless you and your family. With so much love, Kim Dolan Leto P.S. Want to be consistent? Tired of quitting your fitness goals? Jill Miller and I cover hard topics like anxiety and divorce but through the lens of God's faithful, redeeming love. A few topics we discuss are: How we were able to find Jesus as our solid foundation after our “rock bottom” moments. How Jill has struggled with striving and anxiety in trying to win God's love. How if the enemy is talking to you, you have an option to arrest that thought. How Jill surrendered her life to God with humility and how He changed everything. How God has to reveal it so He can heal it! I'm wildly cheering you on,
Today, Karen and I are discussing what to do and how to be victorious when you are feeling overwhelmed. Tune in to learn: How to build a spiritual toolbox. Why speaking God's Word is your best defense when you are overwhelmed. What one word you can speak in case of emergency. "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4: 6-7 NKJV)

The worst states for spending are Connecticut, New Jersey, and Vermont. The District of Columbia did equally poorly. And the worst states for regulation on parental freedoms are Delaware, Maryland, Oregon, Washington, Rhode Island, and Illinois. Michigan judge strikes down ban on abortion as unconstitutional Michigan's 90-year-old law banning abortion has been ruled to violate the state constitution, reports CBS News. Judge Elizabeth Gleicher of the Michigan Court of Claims ruled last week that prosecutors may not enforce the law in accordance with the reversal of Roe v. Wade in June. The decision was followed Thursday by the State Supreme Court approving a ballot measure for November which would open up sweeping abortion rights for the state. Recent polls indicate that 55% of Michigan voters want abortion “mostly legal.” Similar state-wide ballot measures are scheduled for November in California, Vermont, Kentucky and Montana. The contentious Brazilian presidential election Elections are approaching for the fifth largest country in the world. Brazil will have its nationwide election for president on October 1st. Bolsonaro is trailing in what is expected to be a runoff election, by 51%-39%, reports Reuters. The Economist is predicting Bolsonaro's loss. Brazil's skyrocketing debt and lack of financial freedom Following in the pattern of the US, Brazil's debt to Gross Domestic Product ratio increased from 60% to 105% since 2014. Brazil remains one of the least free nations in South America, ranked as the 133rd least free nation in the world, by the Heritage Foundation's annual survey. Plus, their conservative president has met with stiff resistance from the nation's Congress and Supreme Court to enact tax reforms. Brazil's blossoming homeschool movement Homeschoolers in Brazil are hoping for favorable legislation that has made it through the Lower House, and heads to the Senate for a final vote. The national legislation would allow families to homeschool, as long as the children are enrolled in public or private school, and provide the school with records on a periodic basis. There are an estimated 75,000 homeschooled children in Brazil at present. In fact, their first-ever national homeschooling conference was held in Brasilia, the capital, just last week and attended by 1,000 people. In a gracious nod to the movement, the nation's president invited the homeschoolers to participate in the bicentennial parade in the capital city on Wednesday. Psalm 144:11-12 presents the vision for our sons and daughters in Christian families around the world. “Rescue me and deliver me from the hand of foreigners, whose mouth speaks lying words, and whose right hand is a right hand of falsehood— That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth; That our daughters may be as pillars, sculptured in palace style.” Only one-third of pastors believe the tithe is binding And finally, new Barna research finds that only one-third of pastors believe the tithe is binding on Christians today. A recently released Lily Foundation report also found that 29 percent of American households donated to religious causes in 2018. By 2000, 46.5 percent gave. A member of the Conservative Party, Liz Truss has advocated for homosexual faux marriage and environmentalism throughout her political career. When asked about her faith, Ms. Trust said, “I share the values of the Christian faith and the Church of England, but I'm not a regular practicing religious person.” She will be the 15th female head of state out of 45 European countries, a list that includes Scotland, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, and Sweden. That's the largest number of female heads of state in European history. The trend towards introducing women as heads of state began in the late 1970s. British economy dropped to sixth largest from first The British economy used to be the largest economy in the world, but now it's shifted to sixth place behind India, according to a recent IMF report. India exceeded its former colonial ruler in the first quarter of 2021, 75 years after the nation secured its independence. Deuteronomy 28 reminds the nations of this principle. “You shall come down lower and lower. … He shall be the head, and you shall be the tail. … Because you did not serve the Lord your God with joy and gladness of heart, for the abundance of everything, therefore you shall serve your enemies.” (Deut. 28:43,44, 47) Get your tickets ASAP for Lifemark, the pro-life movie And finally, Lifemark, the movie, hits the screens this Friday, September 9th. And it's only in the theaters for 7 days. It's critical to get your tickets for Friday and Saturday in particular. From executive producers Kirk Cameron and the Kendrick Brothers, Lifemark is an inspiring true story which affirms the value of life in a culture of death. Listen to this clip from Alex Kendrick's appearance on Generations Radio. KENDRICK: “In 2019, we were finishing our last movie, Overcomer, and we get a call from Kirk Cameron. He says, ‘Guys, I've just watched this short documentary called ‘I Lived on Parker Avenue.' Man, it grabbed my heart. You've got to watch this thing!' So, Steve and I pull it up and watch it. “It is the true story of an 18-year-old girl who rolls off the abortion table at the last second as the procedure is starting. She says, ‘I can't do this.' She places her baby for adoption. That baby was adopted by a Christian couple that could not have children. They named the baby David. “Eighteen years later, David gets to meet his biological mother. She thought he would hate her because of what she was going to do and giving him up and he wrapped her up in a hug and said, ‘No. Thank you, thank you, thank you for letting me live! Thank you for letting me be adopted.' He now is married and speaks around the country on behalf of adoption and choosing life. “We say this has got to be a feature film. So, that's when we made Lifemark. And we had no idea Roe vs. Wade will be overturned. So, God is doing something.” Watch the trailer and purchase your tickets ASAP at www.LifemarkMovie.com. My guest, Yvonne Taylor, shared her story of being one of the twenty-one black students who integrated into the all-white Hoxie High School in 1955 in episode 63. Make sure you check out that episode as hearing her experiences will emphasize why her mindset of choosing kindness can truly impact the world.Ever stop to think about the values and wisdom passed down to you from your parents, grandparents, and teachers? You might choose to discard some of it, but some of those values and mindsets are so powerful that they become a part of you and how you navigate life. Yvonne's parents were diligent about teaching her values that pertained to their faith. Those shaped her beliefs about God. They also imparted ways to treat others. It's one thing to hear your parents tell you how to live a certain way, but Yvonne was blessed with parents who lived out what they taught.Choosing to show kindness was a value taught and consistently modeled by Yvonne's parents. A reminder of this value was shared the night before Yvonne and her siblings walked through the front doors of the all-white Hoxie High School. Would she choose kindness as her response when insulted? Would she choose kindness when her white friends from the neighborhood ignored her? Would she choose kindness when a rock was thrown through her kitchen window? Yes. Yes. And yes. Kindness is a choice. And Yvonne chose kindness no matter how others treated her. Choosing kindness became part of Yvonne's values and have proven to be a way she can impact the world. You can bet she passed down the value of choosing kindness to her children and grandchildren. What if each of us chose kindness as our response? Imagine the impact we could have on our world!Buy Yvonne's book, Momma, Daddy & Me: When Perseverance Prevails, on Amazon.

With God, you can overcome! However, change doesn't happen until you make a decision to change! When I think of overcomers in the Bible, one person comes to mind.John 5:1-7- From Galilee, Jesus returned to Jerusalem to observe one of the Jewish feasts. Inside the city, near the Sheep Gate, there is a pool called in Hebrew, “Bethesda,” surrounded by five covered porches—the paralyzed, the blind, and the crippled—all of them waiting for their healing. For an angel of God periodically descended into the pool to stir the waters, and the first one who stepped into the pool after the waters swirled would instantly be healed. Among the sick people lying there was a man who had been disabled for thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him lying there, He knew that the man had been crippled for a long time. Jesus said to him, “Do you truly want to be made well?” The sick man answered Him, “Sir, there's no way I can get healed, for I have no one to lower me into the water when the angel comes. As soon as I try to crawl to the edge of the pool, someone else jumps in ahead of me.”The man saw himself as crippled and that there was no hope. He stayed stuck in his sickness, because of the excuses that he was making. However, when Jesus met him, now the man was finally ready to get rid of His excuses and Jesus was able to heal Him completely. For me, my teen years were some of the darkest years of my life. I didn't feel loved or accepted. I hated who I was. I carried around so much pain. No matter where I looked, I couldn't find the one thing I was missing in life…love. It wasn't until I met Jesus when I was 18 that I finally had a glimpse of hope.I wish I could say that in an instant, that things got better after I gave my life to the Lord, but they didn't. It wasn't until a couple years later that I began to realize that since I had given my life to Jesus, I was a new creation. I was no longer identified by my past. I could move forward. And the same thing goes for you. If you have given your life to Jesus, you have been made a new creation. You are no longer identified by the things that are holding you back. If you're ever going to change your life, you have to first change how you see yourself on the inside. God wants you to be healed. He wants you to overcome whatever you're currently struggling with.
