What is Prophetic Vision Planning? Prophetic vision planning with the Holy Spirit involves seeking guidance and direction from the Holy Spirit to create plans, strategies, or goals for the future that align with divine purpose or revelation. In this process, individuals or communities seek insights and guidance through prayer and meditation, believing that the Holy Spirit will provide wisdom, direction, and revelation regarding the path they should take. GET YOUR FREE DEVOTION: Grace to Grow: A 5-Day Study of Patience and Prayer We've been talking all this month about our children's purpose. And in the big picture, the message that I've tried to make run throughout each episode is that the main purpose God has for our children doesn't have anything to do with what they do for a living, or what job they have, or even what person they marry. Ultimately, God's purpose, in Christ, for each believer is to love God and love their neighbors as themselves. If we took just an hour, and tried to write down all the ways the Bible tells us to do live this out, we'd quickly find that doing these two things would take up most of our time. And it's my belief that when we focus our time being faithful to this, God tends to make our paths straight. But today, I want to talk about learning to see those unique giftings each child has from God so we can help them step into the practical ways God might call them as individuals to love God and love their neighbors. GET YOUR FREE DEVOTION: Grace to Grow: A 5-Day Study of Patience and Prayer The other day, on our way home from a trip together, my son asked me how I can be sure that I'm hearing God's voice. I've been there. I get why he's asking that. This world has a lot of voices, and a good number of them conflict not only with each other, but also with the message of the Bible. So how do we help our children know how to discern God's voice from the many others vying for their attention? Tune in now as my guest, Niki Hardy, helps us learn! You won't want to miss this episode! *********** Today's show is brought to you by our newest Prayer Guide, Praying God's Word for Your Child to Find Their Purpose, by Brittany Ann, of Equipping Godly Women. Tackle the question, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” from a biblical perspective. The way our children answer this common question varies wildly from day to day. From teacher, to fire-fighter, to astronaut, to juggler, we just never know what they'll say. For young children, this question is full of promise and excitement. They can be anything they want! The sky's the limit, and it's fun to dream. But as our children get older, this question takes on new meaning. The excitement of endless possibilities gradually gives way to the pressure of choosing the right college, career, job, or relationship. “What do you want to be when you grow up?” becomes stressful, almost agonizing, as young adults wrestle with major decisions that will undoubtedly affect the rest of their lives. But what if finding their purpose didn't have to be so stressful? What if our children could know with confidence exactly what God wants them to do? In Praying God's Word for Your Child to Find Their Purpose, you'll pray for God to work in your children's hearts to: Draw near to God in sincere faith Be guided by the Holy Spirit Learn how to love sacrificially and with intention Learn to walk in God's strength instead of their own Find rest in God alone Understand God's bigger plan Submit their plans to God's And more! Let's face it... Sometimes our children make choices we wouldn't have made, if we had the right to make those decisions for them. I'm not talking about bad decisions here...I'm just talking about decisions that lead them on a different path, or that don't line up with the dreams we had for them. It can be hard to let them lead when we aren't sure about where they're going, but learning to let our children explore, run, and even fail sometimes is one of the most valuable things we can do for them. Our guest today, my friend Karen Ehman, explores the process of learning to let them lead, even when it hurts. This season is dedicated to helping our children find their purpose. Ideally, purpose is something we're talking about with our children well before they leave our homes. And for the Christian family, this discussion goes way deeper than just profession, or career choice. Hint: Purpose doesn't come by deciding what they want to do when they grow up...not that a career or profession can't be an expression of our calling. Rather, purpose comes as they seek God's greater purpose for their lives as a Christian follower of Jesus.  To help us have this discussion, I've invited: Heather McFadyen Karen Ehman Niki Hardy Pam Farell You won't want to miss this season. It might even change the way you look at your own purpose. Scripture For Today: Jude 1:20 “But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit…” Learn to Depend on the Holy Spirit pt 1  You need to depend on the Holy Spirit to help you in your prayer life. As we have discussed in previous lessons, one important way the Holy Spirit helps us in prayer is to give us utterance in other tongues. Paul discusses this in First Corinthians 14:14-15: “For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful. What is it then? I will pray with the spirit and I will pray with understanding also; I will sing with the spirit and I will sing with understanding also.” The Apostle Paul said in these verses to pray in tongues is to pray with one's spirit by the help of the Holy Spirit within us. If Paul is correct in this statement, then we need to know about it. Amen? We need to pray with our spirit as well as with our understanding. I suppose all Christians everywhere pray with their understanding, but not all pray with their spirit by praying in other tongues. Many do not even know that it is possible to do so. Some people, in their haste and ignorance, have said that tongues have been done away with. But you see here, praying in tongues is your spirit praying by the Holy Spirit that dwells within you. Amen!  If tongues has been done away with, then how are you going to pray with your spirit today like we just read in First Corinthians? The Corinthian Christians did not have any means of praying that is not available to us today! We have the same biblical means they had. Amen! The ability to pray in tongues with our spirit is just as available to us today as it was to them two thousand years ago.  The Greek translation of Romans 8:6 (where it talks about groanings in the spirit) actually says, “groanings that cannot be uttered with articulate speech.”  Praise God! That means speaking in tongues is NOT your articulate, everyday speech that you use. Amen. Do not ever forget that the ability to speak in tongues is not only the initial sign of the infilling of the Holy Spirit, but it is a CONTINUAL experience for the rest of our natural life on this earth. Amen! Speaking in tongues assists us in our prayer, in our praise and in our worship. Glory to God! Let's Pray!
