Follow Everyday Prayers @MillionPrayingMoms A Prayer to Let God Clean You from the Inside Out Reference: Ephesians 6:12-13 How does spiritual warfare intersects with the everyday struggles of parenting? Today's prayer offers encouragement for moms who feel overwhelmed by anger, frustration, or emotional triggers. Instead of accepting defeat or justifying our reactions, we’re reminded that our true battle isn’t with our children—or even ourselves—but with spiritual forces that seek to steal our peace. Through Christ, we are already victorious, and we’re invited to parent from that place of strength, clothed in the full armor of God. Prayer Jesus, thank you that we don’t need to struggle against flesh and blood. Our children and our own selves are not the enemy. Help us to put on the full armor of God today, so that when we’re tempted to live in defeat, we can be reminded that we are cleaned by the blood of the Lamb. We are also clothed in God’s own armor and can stand our ground, knowing that You have already won this battle on our behalf. Change us to be more like you, help us grow, and help us remain in the hope that You are transforming us. Grounded in Romans 2:4, this episode offers encouragement and perspective for parents feeling overwhelmed and unsure of how to guide their children well. Prayer Father, thank you for your great kindness. Thank you, Lord, for bringing us to repentance because of it. I pray today, Lord, that you would help us to show that same kindness to our children, help us to fight for them, Lord, and may they know that there is nothing they could ever do that would make us not love them. Follow Everyday Prayers @MillionPrayingMoms A Prayer to Trust What We Can't SeeReference: Ephesians 5:2 This powerful reminder invites moms to step back from the urge to control and speak hastily, and instead to rest in God’s sovereignty. When we acknowledge God's position and wisdom, it helps shape our worship, words, and prayers. Be encouraged to surrender control, model humility for their children, and find peace in God's complete knowledge—even when life feels uncertain or chaotic. Prayer Lord, it's so easy for me to forget how little control I have and how limited my knowledge is. I get busy working out details and arranging schedules and somehow I can begin to think I'm actually in charge. Forgive me for all the little ways I tried to sit on your throne. Would you gently remind me of who you are and who I am? And as you move in me and in my family, Father, I'll be careful to give you all the glory. In Jesus' name, amen. Today's prayer is a reminder that we can cling to God's truth in the face of oppression and remember that while Satan seeks to divide the church, God's Word is our anchor. Through scripture and prayer, we are encouraged to resist the temptation to withdraw from God and instead seek comfort, healing, and strength in His Word. Prayer Father, I so easily become anxious and look for ways that I can control what's going on around me. Yet all I need to do is simply lift my eyes to you and offer you my anxiety. Thank you for the reminder in Psalm 46 -10 to be still and know that you are God. For your word is the only place that I find comfort and refreshment. It is important to remember that our worth is found in who God says we are—not in what we do.Before any role—mom, teacher, friend, or neighbor—you are first and foremost a child of the one true King. Let us remember our spiritual identity and extend the same dignity to others as fellow image-bearers of God. “Even a child makes himself known by his acts, by whether his conduct is pure and upright" (Proverbs 20:11). The best tool for teaching a child is God's work in us. They watch as we work and listen as we speak. They see as we feel and hear us respond. They take note how we serve and tune into our tone. God's work in a mother is the pattern for the work He does in her child. ~ Julie Sanders If someone followed you, what deeds would they see and hear as evidence or testimony of your life? There is one thing in our lives that holds great power that can be easily used for both great good and great evil. I have seen it bring people together and tear others apart. I have used it for both wonderful and terrible purposes. It is something none of us can escape. I'm talking about the power of the tongue. Words can harm, but words can also heal. The tongue has great power, and under the control of the Holy Spirit, this power can change lives in the best way, all for the glory of God. Do you struggle with using your words to heal? In fact, the podcast has grown to the point that we desperately need to hire part-time help. In the month of May, we're asking God to provide 100 new supporters. That's a big ask, but we believe God can do it. Would you be a part of His provision? “Then Daniel went to his house and informed his friends, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, about the matter. So that they might request compassion from the God of heaven concerning this mystery, so that Daniel and his friends would not be destroyed with the rest of the wise men of Babylon" (Daniel 2:17-18). Over the years, having a group of friends I know will actually pray when I ask for help, who have supported me, encouraged me, corrected me, and poured life into me in the name of Jesus—has blessed me beyond measure. Those are the kind of friends I beg God to give my children. The kind who will do anything to get them to Jesus. ~ Brooke McGlothlin Are you concerned about the influence of friends in your child's life? “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16). John 3:16 is probably the most well known bible verse of all time. Children memorize it. Street corner preachers put it on signs. Quarterbacks write it on their eye black. Most of us can easily rattle it off without giving much thought to its meaning. God loved us so much that he was willing to make the ultimate sacrifice to save us from death and give us eternal life. A Christian friend once told me that motherhood is a season of sacrifice. As moms, we set aside many of our own desires to nurture and care for our children. But the sacrifices I make pale in comparison to the sacrifice my savior made for me. ~Suzanne Gosselin Tune in now to listen to today's entire devotion and start your day off praying God's Word for your family! “For you are my rock and my fortress; And for your name's sake you lead me and guide me" (Psalm 31:3). When you are going through difficulty do you cry out to God? He promises to lead us and guide us because he is our rock, our fortress and our strength. When we are experiencing difficulty and simultaneously fully relying on God, then the difficulty doesn't stay with us. It isn't ours to fix or to handle. We take it in and pour it out on our Savior, and he takes it all on himself. ~Becky Daye Tune in now to listen to today's entire devotion and start your day off praying God's Word for your family! “Whoever is slow to anger has great understanding, but he who has a hasty temper exalts folly" (Proverbs 14:29). Only you and I can control what comes out of our mouths, but once it is out in the world, who knows what will happen with it? This is a strong caution for me as I tend to let my words flow with less thought than they require. As a verbal processor, I tend to say lots of things without thinking, so I need the reminders God places throughout his word about the power of our words. ~Erin Mohring Tune in now to listen to today's entire devotion and start your day off praying God's Word for your family! "The Lord is my shepherd. I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters" (Psalm 23:1-2). As a mama investing daily into her children, I grow weary and worried in the journey. I watch my children making choices and know that although I can lead them in the way they should go, it's only the Good Shepherd who can care for them when they get stuck or need comfort I can't give. There is no pretending that we ourselves are prone to wonder and forget to rest when everything the world has to offer distracts us. Jesus, our Good Shepherd, will take our hand and lead us to the quiet places. It's here we can release our cares and find comfort and rest in his promises. ~September McCarthy Tune in now to listen to today's entire devotion and start your day off praying God's Word for your family! "Therefore I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven, that's why she loved so much. But the one who is forgiven little loves little" (Luke 7:47). Whether you grew up in the church or not, we all have been forgiven much. Verses like Galatians 5:16-21 make it pretty clear that God sees sexual immorality, drunkenness, jealousy, and selfish ambition as all the same. Though we see some sin as “big sin” and others as “little” God doesn’t. They all sent his Son to the cross, and Jesus died for each and every one. Wherever you are today in your walk with God, let that thought sink in. ~Tara L Cole Tune in now to listen to today's entire devotion and start your day off praying God's Word for your family! A prayer from 1 John 3:1 Prayer: Father, help us to find our identity in being your children. You love us not because of what we have done or accomplished, but because we are yours. “Rather train yourself for godliness; For while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come" (1 Timothy 4:8). Somewhere along the way, the Christian life gained a reputation for being shiny, easy, and perfect. “If you just give your life to Jesus, everything will magically fall into place,” people say. You may see someone who has peace in all situations or seems to have the perfect quiet time every single day or is always joyfully serving everyone around her, and think, "wow, it comes so easily to them. Why isn't it easy for me? I'm doing it all wrong." ~ Erin Mohring Have you wondered why things seem to come so easily to others, but not to you? "Whoever is slow to anger has great understanding, but he who has a hasty temper exalts folly" (Proverbs 14:29). The anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God. It doesn't even produce godliness in our kids. In fact, this week's passage tells us that when we rush to anger, we are exalting foolishness. Uggg. You know what it looks like. You've got a busy day planned, but if everything goes right, you can get it done. Your 11-year-old picks just that time to have one of those preteen meltdowns. He or she starts throwing around accusations. "You don't love me. You don't care about me. You don't understand me!"
