Host Adam Burke stepped back into The Bettor’s Box to share baseball betting information and analysis that you won’t find anywhere else. On today’s edition of the podcast, Adam looked at how offensive numbers are going up on high-velocity contact across the league, but there are three teams in particular that should be in line for some better fortunes and those are all play-on teams. After looking at a list of teams that is better than expected and a list that is worse than expected and the reasons why with about 25% of the season completed, Adam talked about recent line moves, gave out a pick for Thursday, and then previewed five series for the weekend ahead. Those series were Twins vs. Indians, Brewers vs. Reds, Rays vs. Blue Jays, Dodgers vs. Giants, and Cubs vs. Cardinals.
Host Adam Burke has often been put between a rock and a hard place in terms of betting the 1st 5 or the full game. On today’s edition of The Bettor’s Box, he talked through what goes into the process of making that decision, both from a side and total standpoint. Adam looked at some situations where that could be relevant today as examples. Then he took a look at some pitchers that have either had good luck or bad luck based on their velocity numbers as we look for some pitchers to fade and some to follow. After that, he talked about the Saber Stats, yes plural, of the show, surveyed some recent line moves, and gave a pick for Thursday night. Finally, Adam previewed a few series for the weekend ahead, with Indians/Mariners, Mets/Rays, and Cardinals/Padres.
We're covering the final news and notes before the season opener. Does Spring Training matter? Host Adam Burke had some big announcements to open up the show. BangTheBook Radio and The Bettor’s Box are moving. They are moving to ATS.io beginning next week. Subscribers won’t notice any changes with their links or RSS feeds, but the name will change. Adam also announced some format changes as well, so you’ll want to listen to the show in order to get all of the particulars. Baseball was still talked about today, as Adam gave his thoughts on the Trade Deadline and also talked about platoon advantages and league-wide offense. Lefties aren’t hitting righties nearly as well as they did in the past and that has loomed large, along with the lack of line movement that we’ve seen recently in the betting markets. With a pick for Thursday and a look ahead to some of this weekend’s games, you got the news you needed and the insights you want on today’s show.

The San Francisco Giants have lost their 2012 MVP for 2020 as Buster Posey has decided to opt out of the 2020 season. This is in part due to the birth of his twin daughters. Posey's absence may leave an opening for Joey Bart although I believe Tyler Heineman will likely start the year behind the dish with Chadwick Tromp and Rob Brantly as backup options.https://youtu.be/S-Y0pae3vi0#sfgiants #busterposey #optoutHumm Baby Baseball is an all baseball channel that talks baseball in general but also has a focus on the San Francisco Giants. The Cincinnati Reds have finalized their amazing rotation and have a relatively easy schedule. This only confirms my previous thoughts - they will win the Central in 2020 and that's how I am predicting it to happen!! Sonny Gray is named the opening day starter and so far, to my knowledge, no key players have opted out. Look out for the Reds in 2020!https://youtu.be/5AGJmLkSO4U#reds #sonnygray #josegarciaHumm Baby Baseball is an all baseball channel that talks baseball in general but also has a focus on the San Francisco Giants. MLB and their owners have finally offered the players PRO-RATED salaries in a 60 game season starting July 19th. The only catch is they also want the players to agree that they will NOT file a grievance regarding the way the situation was handled -- both parties were supposed to do everything possible to play as many games as possible! 60 Games!? Major League Baseball did not do that, and so they will require the players to agree not to file a grievance in order to move forward with this proposal.https://youtu.be/6n-UrMNS2S8#mlbpa #mlb #firemanfredHumm Baby Baseball is an all baseball channel that talks baseball in general but also has a focus on the San Francisco Giants.
