Today on One More & I'm Outta Here, we cover a weekend so chaotic it felt like America accidentally hit “randomize events.”First up, the nationwide “No Kings” rallies — millions of people showed up across the country protesting everything from government overreach to immigration policies, all under one banner: “We don't do kings here.” Which is ironic… because nothing screams “we're not dramatic” like 3,000 protests and a guy dressed like George Washington yelling into a megaphone.Meanwhile, right here in Cincinnati, Opening Day for the Cincinnati Reds turned into Fight Night at the Ballpark. Because nothing pairs better with baseball, beer, and sunshine than a postgame street brawl that makes you question if you just watched a sporting event… or a deleted scene from The Purge. ⚾
The Royals played a terrific game and bailed out the organization's leadership team after two absolutely awful pre-determined roster roles before spring training even started. The good news, I double we will see Charlie Sheen attempt to close another game in Royals blue. Now it's opening day and the Royals are big faves against the Twins... Let's go! Topeka native Gary Woodland could be the best sports story in the world this year after recovering from brain surgery, publicly dealing with PTSD and winning a tourney for the first time in almost 7 years. This is a great American sports story. The Final 4 is set and Illinois coach Brad Underwood and his star freshman from KC are living the dream. A new report indicates Tiger Woods was told by Trump's Secret Service that he could not operate a motor vehicle with any of Trump's grandchildren in the car or he'd be arrested. This was BEFORE his fourth crash since 2009. The No Kings rallies are filled with liberal gaffes, Trump wants to control and rename the Strait of Hormuz and we have a tasty Final Final if you like candy bars.
Former Yankees pitcher Ron Guidry joins Extra Innings with Bill Laskey to reflect on his career pitching for the Yankees, including managing emotions surrounding his starts on Opening Day, as well as his confidence in his catcher Thurman Munson.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
The MLB season is upon us and we have tons of topics from Opening Day, False Opening Day, and the rest of the week. Freddie Freeman's got a great new outfit, the ABS challenge system is already producing hilarious moments, and we talk about some of the new ballpark food listeners got at games. Tomorrow we'll be releasing our Wach Party episode on The Matrix we recording with Bobby Wagner from Tipping Pitches.
I know this is only the first week of the season, but I need to catch my breath. MLB teams are giving out walk-offs, like old school Oprah: You get a walk-off, you get a walk-off, and you get a walk-off too.The most emotional walk-off victory belonged to the Braves and Dominic Smith. Smith is the first player in MLB history to hit a grand slam walk-off homer in his team debut. Smith, 31, lost his mother to cancer less than two weeks ago. He did not take time away from camp because he was battling for a roster spot. Smith said after the game that he felt his mother's presence with him last night. It was a beautiful moment for Smith, who is in the midst of a very difficult time. The Reds' Dane Myers got his first hit with his new club on Saturday, and, yes, it was a walk-off. The story of the Reds-Red Sox game will not be Myers; it will be umpire CB Bucknor. The veteran umpire (Bucknor, 63) was overruled by the ABS challenge system six times. I don't know what the consequences will be for Bucknor, but this is not good.In Chicago, the Cubs beat the Nats, but James Wood hit his first home run, and Nasim Nunez made one of the best web gems of the season already. Nunez was filling in for CJ Abrams, who has stepped away from the team due to bereavement. It is reported that he has suffered a death in his family.Taj Bradley (Twins) K'd 9 in 4.1 innings pitched. He didn't get a decision, but the Twins beat the O's 4-1.Aaron Judge has hit his second home run in as many days. Captain America is back after his Opening Day 0-5, 4K performance. The Yankees are 3-0, which means the Giants are 0-3. They did score their first run on Saturday, so there is that.In closing, Twins #2 prospect Kaeleen Culpeper and Orioles #9 prospect Enrique Bradfield are in the recap on Substack. Substack will be where you find a wider version of highlights.See you tomorrow. Finish Your Breakfast.

We Are Back! Opening Day is here, and so is the best Black baseball highlights and news recap in the game. From now until the final pitch of the World Series, Cheats and the BBM crew will be providing recaps and breaking news every day. Before we get too far, please consider a paid subscription to this platform. It's the best way to support the Mixtape and keep the community growing. As of this morning, twelve MLB regular-season games have been played, and we've learned a few things. The Dodgers are on pace to go 162-0 (again). The quest for a three-peat is on. And Dodgers' skipper Dave Roberts says the 2026 team is his best roster. It's hard to think Mookie Betts is on a revenge tour, but the 2025 Gold Glove finalist is hoping to bounce back from a down year. He is fully recovered from a stomach virus that really hampered the start of his 2025 season. He went 1-4 last night in a game shown on NBC, called by the legend Bob Costas. The Nats surprised the Cubs, beating them 10-4. The story of the game will center on CJ Abrams. The 2024 All-Star crushed a bases-loaded sure double, but got thrown out as he thought the ball was a sure home run, and it was not. He got thrown out at second, and that is really a microcosm of Abrams right now. Let's hope ‘26 brings more on-field maturity, because I think he is going to have a breakthrough year.Victor Scott II stole two bases in the Cards come-from-behind victory against the Rays. Mike Trout hit his fifth Opening Day homer to lead the Angels over the Astros. Tarik Skubal struck out six Padres in six innings for the Tigers 8-2 win. The Yankees, Mets, Phillies, Brewers, Red Sox, Guardians, and even the O's also picked up impressive Opening Day wins. And Tommy Pham signed a minor league contract with the Mets.See you tomorrow. Iran, Patriotism, Fed-Up White Working Class, Fighting Authoritarians, Will He Run for Office? Opening Day and A Little Yankees Red Sox Smack Talk. FDNY vs NYPD Hockey! Independent Americans host Paul Rieckhoff chops it up with Dropkick Murphys fiery and beloved frontman Ken Casey for a high-energy, no-BS conversation about patriotism, protest, and pushing back on authoritarianism at home and abroad. From Red Sox–Yankees trash talk and World Series rings to Ukraine, ICE, Iran and Trump, Ken explains why the band has spent 30 years standing with workers, veterans, cops, firefighters and immigrants—and why staying loud now is a moral obligation, not a branding choice. The Dropkick Murphys are loved and respected worldwide. And if you don't know them already, after this episode, you'll understand why. Ken and Paul dig into how Trump and MAGA captured huge parts of the white working class, how the “algorithm” changed people we thought we knew, and why courage from artists can help millions find the off-ramp from Trumpism without having to become Democrats. Ken breaks down the power of the No Kings protests happening nationwide this weekend, the possibility of a general strike, and what real patriotism looks like when billionaires, racists and would‑be kings are calling the shots. And, if the “No Kings” protests need a new name. They also go deep and keep it real on parenting through dark times, the mental health toll of nonstop crises, the healing power of community at shows and in the streets—and if Ken will ever run for office. The Mets start the season with a win, but it wouldn't be Mets baseball without a little weirdness mixed in. Evan and Tiki break down an Opening Day that had everything encouraging signs on the field, strange moments in the stands, and even a bizarre dead bird incident that somehow turns into a debate about omens and rally symbols. Beyond the chaos, the guys dig into what actually matters: a lineup focused on contact, forcing mistakes, and creating runs in ways that could make this team dangerous. They also react to standout performances, surprising early stats, and what this first game may or may not tell us about the Mets' season ahead.
The Yankees rolled to victory in their season opener, and our hosts have all the instant reactions, ranging from the game itself to the broadcast on Netflix and what to make of Aaron Judge's rough night.
