The Dodgers are using young pitchers Jack Dreyer and Justin Wrobleski in the series opener and then aging star Clayton Kershaw in the finale. Can the Coors Field Effect on pitching be mitigated by the fact that they get to pitch against Rockies hitters? Tube in all season long! Leave a voicemail or text the Friend of the Show hotline!

The Padres and Dodgers concluded their 10th game in two weeks in spectacular fashion with Xander Bogaerts lifting the club and Ryan Bergert delivering a great effort in his 8th game in MLB.ALLLLL that was overshadowed in the top of the 9th however. After Dave Roberts pulled Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman from a still-competitive 5-0 game, Fernando Tatis Jr was hit by Dodgers pitching for the 3rd time in 9 games. Mike Shildt came on the field and called Roberts out, then Roberts rushed in and gave Mike a forearm shiver, sending both benches onto the field. The Padres failed to add to their 5 run lead and Sean Reynolds immediately got into trouble in the bottom half of the frame. Robert Suarez was called in to save the game with two on and one out. He allowed a RBI single and an RBI ground out, setting the stage for Shohei Ohtani to come up with the tying run on deck. Suarez through 3 balls, then hit Ohtani right between the numbers and was promptly ejected. Yuki Matsui came in, threw a run scoring wild pitch and walked Betts' replacement, bring the winning run to the plate. Yuki brought him to a full count before throwing a 92 MPH fastball past rookie Daulton Rushing, securing a win for the Friars in an instant classic.Chris, Raphie and Craig discuss the madness in this free for all Group Therapy.
The baseball world is still buzzing about the shocking trade that sent Rafael Devers to the San Francisco Giants only two seasons after the Boston Red Sox signed him to an 11-year contract extension. While Devers is already making a great first impression by the Bay, there are still questions about why Boston traded away yet another superstar from their roster.Jake Mintz and Jordan Shusterman talk about Devers' debut with the Giants, including a star-studded press conference and already mashing in his first game, as well as whether he could play a position the Red Sox once hoped he'd fill when the team rolls into San Francisco this weekend. Also on this episode of the Baseball Bar-B-Cast, Jake and Jordan welcome journalist Joon Lee to try to make sense of the trade from the Red Sox's side. After trading away Mookie Betts, Chris Sale, and Rafael Devers—along with not re-signing Xander Bogaerts—the guys wonder if the team is losing credibility with an already irritated fan base. Then, they talk about Shohei Ohtani's return to the mound and Gage Wood throwing a no-hitter in the College World Series.(2:43) – The Opener: Devers' debut in San Francisco(23:33) – Joon Lee joins the show to talk Red Sox(50:33) – Around the League: Shohei Ohtani pitches again(54:01) – Gage Wood twirls a no-hitter(57:47) – Jordan's notes from the MLB Draft Combine Subscribe to Baseball Bar-B-Cast on your favorite podcast app:
The Boston Red Sox just traded away Rafael Devers, and the city is in shock. In this episode of Missing the Point, hosts Rayshawn Buchanan and Michael Marcangelo dive into one of the most controversial moves in recent MLB history: sending Devers to the San Francisco Giants. They break down why this deal feels like a salary dump, what it says about the Red Sox front office's priorities, and how it compares to the infamous trades of Mookie Betts, Nomar Garciaparra, and Xander Bogaerts. Is this rock bottom for Red Sox Nation? Are we entering a new era of hopelessness at Fenway? Then it's time for NBA Finals Game 6, where the Oklahoma City Thunder are on the verge of winning their first NBA championship. The guys analyze Shai Gilgeous-Alexander's MVP-level postseason, Tyrese Haliburton's shocking collapse, and how this young OKC squad is building a true dynasty. We also touch on the Boston Celtics' offseason strategy, including trade scenarios for Jrue Holiday, Kristaps Porzingis' health, and why Michigan's Danny Wolfcould be a draft-day steal.Don't forget to follow us across all platforms:
The Florida Panthers are officially a dynasty—back-to-back Stanley Cup champs with Brad Marchand lighting it up. It's OKC's time, the Thunder are winning the NBA Championship saying No 'Cer to Indy. Jumoke talks about the Desmond Bane trade left jaws on the floor, and the question on everyone's mind: where is Kevin Durant headed next? Boston is spiraling again, trading Devers after signing Bregman which wrecked team chemistry, déjà vu of the Mookie Betts disaster. Could Pittsburgh become Mr. Rodgers' neighborhood? And while the U.S. Open lacked star power, it delivered on drama—JJ Spaun is your surprise champion. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
