Two pros join us on the Thursday January 18 edition of BangTheBook Radio, as host Adam Burke chats with Brad Powers from BradPowersSports.com and Ralph Michaels from WagerTalk.com. Brad Powers will start us off with some thoughts on the AFC Championship Game between the Jacksonville Jaguars and New England Patriots and then the guys will look at the NFC Championship Game between the Minnesota Vikings and Philadelphia Eagles. The guys will talk a little bit of college hoops as well, as they focus in on tonight's big late games between Saint Mary's and Gonzaga and USC and Oregon. Brad will also have a free best bet for tonight for listeners. Ralph Michaels is up next with a fresh set of opinions on this week's two NFL playoff games. The guys will also hit the NBA to discuss the differences between handicapping that and handicapping college basketball. Has Ralph picked up on anything new for this year that has been profitable? He'll answer that question and several more about college basketball, like last night's loss for Wichita State and if this is a sign of things to come in a tougher league and about the ACC and the Atlantic-10. A couple best bets for tonight and this weekend wrap things up.
We're back on the airwaves with this Monday edition of BangTheBook Radio. After a hectic week last week, we'll try to bring some sense of normalcy back to the program this week. We'll start by checking on the NFL with Joe Everett of NFL Draft Bible for the NFL Week in Review & Monday Night Football Preview. The guys will preview the Texans vs. Ravens game and then look back at Week 12, with special attention focused on the Jaguars/Cardinals game, the mess that is the the Broncos, a shaky Bears team, and skepticism about the Falcons. Kyle Hunter of HunterSportsPicks.com joins us for our Week 14 College Football First Look, but we'll incorporate some more college hoops into the mix once again. The guys will touch on some news and notes as we head into the conference championship week. They'll start Friday night with Stanford vs. USC for the Pac-12 title and then move to Saturday with Troy vs. Arkansas State in the Sun Belt, Memphis vs. UCF in the AAC, and North Texas vs. FAU for the Conference USA crown. On the college hoops side, they'll do a buy and sell segment with some teams and look at a system that is good for uncovering undervalued teams early in the year.
The show must go on. You've heard that a time or two, I'm sure, but that was the theme this week on BangTheBook Radio. Between audio issues and the holiday, it has been a trying week, but the show went on and we brought you the content that you expect. Host Adam Burke had two items of business left to take care of this week on the show. The first was the Westgate SuperContest Selections segment with Wes Reynolds once again pinch hitting for Sports Cheetah. The guys recapped what we saw last week in the SuperContest and then talked about Adam's approach to Week 12, which included a Thursday Night game. Adam had five other plays that he discussed and had to cut it down to four after the show, but he hit on his stats, trends, and information that helped him to a decision. We also chatted with Brent from DSI Sportsbook for this week's version of The Odds Report. Sharp money is out there in the college football and NFL betting markets and it is moving lines. Brent hit on a list of games that has seen that wiseguy investment and talked about where those numbers have moved and where he expects those numbers to move as we get closer to kickoff.
We're pushing right through the middle of the week with another edition of BangTheBook Radio. We've got two guests joining us today. The first is Bryan Leonard of WagerTalk.com to chat with us about a little bit of MACtion and a little bit of NFL. Host Adam Burke directed the discussion with MAC analysis on Toledo vs. Bowling Green and Eastern Michigan vs. Miami of Ohio. The guys also discussed UNLV vs. New Mexico and Mississippi State vs. Arkansas. On the NFL side, they talked Lions vs. Bears and Chiefs vs. Giants. Wes Reynolds joined us for this week's Wednesday Wagering segment and the guys covered a wide array of topics. They talked Thursday Night Football with the Titans against the Steelers and then looked ahead to Sunday with Cardinals vs. Texans. They updated the state of the NBA and talked about some betting tips and free picks with that. They also talked college hoops with some betting tips and observations from early in the year.
Friday editions of BangTheBook Radio mean two things - SuperContest and Brent. We put the wraps on another excellent week's worth of shows with our two Friday segments, as host Adam Burke was joined by Sports Cheetah for the Westgate SuperContest Selections segment and by Brent from DSI Sportsbook for The Odds Report. Adam entered the segment with three picks and two leans and came out with his five-play SuperContest card in tact after some thoughts from Cheetah and some of his own analysis being put into words. The Bang The Book Podcast entry is 19-16 on the season and Adam's looking for a big week, along with many others, after the worst week in contest history in Week 7. Brent, a risk manager from DSI Sportsbook, joined us for this week's version of The Odds Report. Sharp bettors are hitting games all over the college football and NFL betting market and those were the games in the spotlight during this segment. It is fascinating to get a look at the other side of the counter and to see what Brent is doing and to see how he handles the guys and girls that set and mold the market. The guys talked about a lot of games, including the huge game between Penn State and Ohio State, on this week's segment.
We're getting the band back together for our Thursday Meeting show on BangTheBook Radio. Host Adam Burke will be joined by two professional handicappers, as Brad Powers from BradPowersSports.com and Ralph Michaels from WagerTalk.com both hop on the show. We'll talk a variety of different games with Brad, including some under-the-radar matchups and some Friday night action with Tulane vs. Memphis and Tulsa vs. SMU. They'll also hit on FIU vs. Marshall per listener request and also touch on a couple big SEC games. On the NFL side, the guys will chat about the Bears vs. Saints and Chargers vs. Patriots. Ralph Michaels is back this week, so we'll have a whole slate of college football and NFL action to discuss with him. They'll start with tonight's Stanford vs. Oregon State game and then look at a couple of situational betting spots with Missouri vs. UConn and Rutgers vs. Michigan. On the NFL side, they'll chat Panthers vs. Buccaneers and Cowboys vs. Redskins. The NBA season has also started, so we'll get some thoughts and observations from Ralph on his NBA betting approaches.
What we like to call our "Thursday Meeting" show is back this week, as two professional handicappers join host Adam Burke to talk college football and the NFL. Our first guest is Brad Powers from BradPowersSports.com. They'll discuss some Week 4 overreactions and lines that stand out, as well as a listener question regarding money lines and spreads. They'll talk Florida vs. Kentucky per listener request and also look at Louisiana Tech vs. South Carolina, USC vs. Cal, and go through the Pick Six segment with six games in rapid fire fashion. On the NFL side, they'll talk about money line betting and also spend some time on the NFC South with Saints vs. Panthers and Falcons vs. Lions. Ralph Michaels from WagerTalk.com is our second guest. He'll get the same listener question about money lines and then also cover some college football action with a look at Michigan vs. Purdue, Washington vs. Colorado, and San Diego State vs. Air Force. On the NFL side, we'll talk about some adjustments with two games worth of data and then also look at Broncos vs. Bills, Browns vs. Colts, and Raiders vs. Redskins to set you up to bang the books this weekend.
There wound up being a whole lot to talk about on this July 23 edition of The Bettor's Box, BangTheBook Radio's MLB betting podcast. Host Adam Burke had a lot of notes and a lot of great baseball betting insights to share with our listeners. The Beyond the Box Score segment featured a look at three sweeps and an impressive series victory, as the Indians, Rangers, Royals, and Nationals all had good weekends. He talked about looking for outliers and understanding sabermetric concepts and what they mean. The Down the Lines segment featured on the MLB betting odds and the market. He gave out two picks for Monday's action as well. The Monday Mailbag segment included questions about picking a sportsbook, adjusting for the new MLB offensive environment, college football power ratings, and where to stay in Las Vegas. A quick look at three series this week wrapped up another edition of the world's best baseball betting podcast.
Our weekly "Tuesday Meeting" show has given listeners a lot of great insight throughout the season. We'll keep that going here this week with two professional handicappers shedding some light on the NBA, MLB, and, of course, the Final Four. We'll start things off with Bryan Leonard of WagerTalk.com for this week's Sports Wagering Talk segment. Bryan will chat about his MLB season prep work and some of the teams that he likes and others that he dislikes going into the season. The guys will also talk about the Final Four matchups between South Carolina and Gonzaga and also Oregon and North Carolina, as well as some NIT, CBI, and CIT. We also go Hunting for Winners with Sports Cheetah every Tuesday on the broadcast. We'll get some thoughts from Cheetah on his MLB prep work and what goes into that process from him. We'll also revisit a listener question from the day before about futures betting and the bankroll involved with that. Then we'll break down the NIT, CBI, CIT, and the Final Four games on the college basketball betting side. This promises to be another excellent show with two of the best in the business.
We're back and better than ever as we look ahead to Sweet 16 and Elite Eight matchups in March Madness on this Monday edition of BangTheBook Radio. Before we get into those, we'll have our Monday Mailbag segment with host Adam Burke answering your listener questions. We've got a lot of good submissions and a lot of solid questions to touch on in today's first segment. We'll talk about officiating, hedging, and live betting in today's Mailbag. Kyle Hunter of SmarterSportsPicks.com joins us today for our Handicapping the Hardwood segment to take a look at how some of the lesser-heralded postseason tournaments are going with the NIT, CBI, and CIT. Of course they'll also talk about the NCAA Tournament and all the March Madness action with a look ahead to the Sweet 16 and the Elite Eight later this week. Kyle is on a good run in college hoops right now, so we'll look to keep that going and give you some assistance banging the books on the hardwood.
If you thought our Tuesday Meeting show couldn't get any better, guess again. We'll be joined by three different professional handicappers on this week's edition. We'll start things off with Brad Powers of BradPowersSports.com, continue with Sports Cheetah of WagerTalk.com, and finally Ralph Michaels of WagerTalk.com. We're going to talk a ton of college basketball, as we know. We'll get different betting strategies from all of the handicappers on the different conference tournaments and also take a look ahead to March Madness. We'll talk game-by-game betting, how to approach the power conferences and the mid-majors, and a whole lot more.
One-half of the Tuesday Meeting show is on tap for this week as Sports Cheetah is unfortunately not able to join us. Host Adam Burke will still be joined by one exceptional professional bettor and handicapper in the person of Bryan Leonard. This week's Sports Wagering Talk will focus on conference tournament betting and about some of the differences and the intricacies in betting postseason college basketball. Betting futures and setting up hedging opportunities is part of the fun and so is making adjustments to the different stakes. We'll chat with Bryan about that and also take a dive into the NBA about adjustments to power ratings based on trades and about contrarian betting in the NBA. With Cheetah not on the program, Adam will take the last segment today to talk about college basketball conference tournament betting and what we're hoping to achieve as a follow-up to yesterday's segment with Kyle Hunter. He'll also talk about the unveiling of his MLB season win totals preview series which goes live today over at BangTheBook.com.
Get over the hump of the work week with the help of BangTheBook Radio. Host Adam Burke has a lot to talk about, so we're going to hear from him for a while to kick off today's show. MLB Season Win Totals were posted at the Westgate yesterday, so he'll talk about that and we're also starting to see some enter the offshore market as well. We also have some NHL things to discuss, so it'll be an MLB and NHL start to the show today. In the second half of the broadcast, we'll hear from Wes Reynolds for this week's Wednesday Wagering segment. We'll talk about this week's PGA Tour event, the Honda Classic, with some predictions for the winners and some stuff that will help those that play golf DFS. We'll also take a look at things coming out of the NBA All-Star Break and a whole lot more
It's the last month of the year and what a year it has been for us on BangTheBook Radio. December is a very hectic month for handicapping with the Christmas holiday, bowl games, the push for the NFL playoffs, NHL, NBA, college basketball, and so much going on. Keep it tuned right here and we'll set you up for success. On this Thursday show, host Adam Burke will be joined by Brad Powers of BradPowersSports.com for this week's Powers Picks segment. The guys will cover a long list of conference championship games, including the Pac-12, SEC, ACC, and Big Ten, and also Oklahoma State vs. Oklahoma for the Big 12 title. Brad will also share his Week 13 NFL picks and analysis. Host note: The beeping sound in the background was out of our control and we sincerely apologize. It only happened while the host was talking, so please focus on Brad's outstanding analysis and not the 8-bit video game soundtrack in the background of Adam's parts. We'll get some top-notch college football and college basketball analysis for Conference USA from Alex Nicolas of Miner Rush, the SBNation home of the UTEP Miners. We'll get his thoughts on the C-USA football title game between the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs and the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers. We'll also hear from him on the state of Conference USA for college basketball this season. Jay Primetown of MMAOddsbreaker.com joins us on this 90-minute mega show for a look at The Ultimate Fighter 24 finale at The Palms in Las Vegas. Flyweight champ Demetrious Johnson will take on the winner of the flyweight tournament for TUF 24 and Jay will break down that fight and the others on the card to find you the betting opportunities that can build your bankroll.
