Joe Rose and Kim Bokamper open the hour with NBA Finals reaction as the Knicks take Game 1, along with discussion about the celebrity presence at the game and early storylines emerging from the series. The conversation moves into NBA trade speculation centered around Giannis Antetokounmpo, including whether the Heat are emerging as a potential frontrunner and what a possible trade package could look like. The guys also touch on Dolphins notes from minicamp, including questions about Achane's physique, strong impressions from Aaron Brewer and Jordyn Brooks despite ongoing contract situations, and the massive potential of Miami's offensive line with Patrick Paul and Kadyn Proctor. Additional topics include Tua's latest press conference moment and the decision for the Dolphins and Falcons not to hold joint practices, sparking some speculation about the reasoning behind it. The hour wraps with a mix of soccer and documentary talk before Marlins manager Clayton McCullough joins to break down Miami's recent sweep of the Nationals, highlighting Otto Lopez's breakout, strong seasons from Xavier Edwards and Liam Hicks, Max Meyer's growth, Sandy Alcantara's leadership, and the team's aggressive approach to player development as the Marlins continue trying to find consistency.
The Knicks are headed to the NBA Finals, and the guys react to soaring ticket prices, debate whether Jalen Brunson has reached superstar status, and preview a tight Game 5 between the Thunder and Spurs with a potential Finals matchup looming. They also discuss the Cavaliers facing criticism after their playoff exit, James Harden drawing more scrutiny for another disappointing postseason, and whether the Heat should go all-in to try and land Giannis Antetokounmpo. On the Dolphins front, a bold 8–9 win prediction gets compared to Vegas expectations as Joe questions how realistic it is given the team's dead cap situation and brutal schedule. Plus, in Hollywood's Headlines, Lane Kiffin sparks controversy with comments about Ole Miss, the bizarre “Enhanced Games” flop is recapped, and Johnny Manziel headlines a wild combat sports weekend alongside Lance Stephenson and Michael Beasley.
Chris Perkins joins the show to break down the Miami Dolphins' roster-building strategy, explaining why the team's focus on quarterback, offensive line, and defensive line investments could leave questions at wide receiver and cornerback. He also highlights Chris Bell as a potential draft steal if he returns healthy from injury, while weighing in on the state of Dolphins leadership and why he believes it has to develop organically rather than be manufactured. Perkins shares early positive impressions of Malik Willis and discusses what to expect from De'Von Achane following his recent contract extension. The conversation then shifts to the NBA Playoffs, including whether the Cavaliers are in trouble against the Knicks and how the Spurs' lack of postseason experience could factor into their matchup with the Thunder.
Joe Giglio and Hugh Douglas debate whether Phillies starter Aaron Nola has lost his effectiveness following a series of disappointing outings. They examine how the pitch clock and automated strike zones have hindered his performance and discuss the implications of his long-term contract. The conversation includes fan reactions and analysis of the team's depth heading into the trade deadline. 01:50 - Phillies Game Recap 05:06 - New Rules Impact Nola 09:11 - Nola Postgame Reaction 12:11 - Contract and Rotation Depth 15:30 - Callers Discuss Nola's Struggles 20:40 - Historical Pitcher Comparisons 25:33 - Trade Deadline Pitching Needs 44:21 - Sixers and NBA Talk

Bubba Dub is back with a full-on rollercoaster episode after the Dallas Cowboys fall to the Detroit Lions. Dub breaks down the entire night with humor, frustration, and unfiltered honesty as only he can. In this episode, Bubba dives into:
The Cowboys put BELT-TO-ASS on the Kansas City Chiefs for Thanksgiving, and Bubba Dub is here with the rawest, funniest, most unfiltered recap in sports media. Dub breaks down EVERYTHING that went down in Dallas:
In this week's episode, we dive into the Western Conference's most troubled teams — four franchises that are far off the pace in the 2025–26 NBA season: New Orleans Pelicans, Sacramento Kings, LA Clippers, and Dallas Mavericks.New Orleans Pelicans has stumbled out of the gate with a 2–10 start, the worst record in the West so far. Their offense ranks near the bottom of the league at just 108.8 points per game, while their defense is hemorrhaging points — allowing 121.6 per game, giving them a league-worst net rating. Sacramento Kings is also in free-fall with a 3–10 record. Their offensive rating is weak, their defensive rating even worse, and they're leaking points at a clip that's pushing them toward one of the worst starts in franchise history. Early-season projections have them on pace for a historically bad season.LA Clippers has had a rough beginning too, with only 4 wins and 10 losses so far. Their roster isn't gelling, and despite individual talent, they're failing to find consistency on both ends.Dallas Mavericks is matching the Kings with a 3–10 mark, plagued by inefficiency, defensive lapses, and a lack of cohesion. They've struggled to close out games and are having trouble defending their paint and executing late. So what's next? We ask the big question — can any of these teams right the ship? Do we believe there's enough talent, structure, or hope for improvement — or are they stuck in a long-term slump? Tune in to hear our predictions, break down possible turning points, and find out which team, if any, could emerge from this Western Conference malaise.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-baseline-nba-podcast--3677698/support.Visit: https://prizepicks.onelink.me/LME0/CLNS and use code CLNS and get $50 in lineups. This show was sponsored in part by Raycon: Visit https://buyraycon.com/baseline for 20% off new buds!Get NBA League Pass: https://link.nba.com/LP19MG Looking to book a vacation?
