Hour two kicked off with former NFL head coach Herm Edwards joining the show to discuss if the Colts are legit, if referees officiate teams based on their record and the biggest key to success for coordinators becoming head coaches. It was a rough night at the ballpark! The Mariners got blown out by the potent Toronto offense in a 13-4 loss and it's on to game 4 with a 2-1 series lead. Is our confidence rattled? No way, no one should have expected that Toronto was going to roll over. :30- Mariners Morning After Things started great for the Mariners as Julio got the team out to a 2-0 lead in the 1st, but George Kirby will be the first to tell you, he just didn't have it last night and Toronto jumped on it. :45- The Seahawks don't play until Monday when they face the Texans and the biggest story of this Houston team is their defense. RYON HEALY AND KEVIN PILLAR We surprise Ryon Healy yet again, and this time, it's with his best friend! We get insight from the former Blue Jay AND the former Mariner on what they saw last night and thus far in the series. How big of a deal was the game 3 win for Toronto? :30- MIKE SANDO (The Athletic) Mike joins us ahead of week 7 in the NFL and we kick things off with the old guys tonight! Aaron Rodgers and Joe Flacco face off when Pittsburgh travels to Cincinnati. Who has surprised Sando the most? What does he expect when the Seahawks and Texans meet up on Monday? Is Baker Mayfield in the MVP conversation? :45- We close out the show with one last thing! See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Headlines and Thursdays with SOFTY How is the Soft one feeling about last night's Mariners loss? Does he have any positive takeaways from last night? Was the decision to save Castillo for a start today the right one? Is he confident this team can get the job done? Oh, and let's talk about the Huskies! They have a BIG game on Saturday morning in Ann Arbor. Jedd Fisch really needs a win like this to elevate his program. :30- Luis Castillo is getting the start tonight for the Mariners while Max Scherzer goes for Toronto, but is this the same Scherzer that we once knew? He has not had a quality start since August 14th, so let's not let him have one tonight! It's been a long time since Max Scherzer has been Max Scherzer, so let's not let THAT guy show up at T Mobile Park tonight. :35- It's time for Fact or Fiction as Chuck makes his pick and we hope to be better than last week! :45- What is the plan for Bryan Woo? Rumors have swirled that he may start Game 5, but other rumors have him coming out of the bullpen, so how will he be used? See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
- We still have a lot to talk about when it comes to last night's Game 3. The Mariners crowd showed out and Julio got them all fired up right away, but by the 3rd inning, things shifted dramatically and Toronto rattled off 12 runs in a row. Did the Mariners make the right decision to keep Kirby in and moving forward, what's the plan? :30- ABCs of the Mariners - D id for Dingers: all dingers have a different value to them; what value could we potentially place on Randy Arozarena's late home run? It was his first in 107 at-bats, could it be just what he needs to get heated up? - E is for Ewok: Vlad Jr is the most intimidating presence in the Blue Jays lineup, but that Ewok behind the plate (Alejandro Kirk) is worrisome as well. - F is for Fresh: is there a chance that a couple weeks off were actually good for Woo and he comes out fresher than before? :45- Jedd Fisch has a big game ahead of him on Saturday; can the Huskies pull off the upset in Ann Arbor? Just how big would this win be and could the Huskies enter the playoff conversation if they beat Michigan? Jedd Fisch rumors are already flying… See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Bill opened the show by highlighting how the Brewers-Dodgers NLCS matchup could in part decide whether there is a labor strike after the 2026 season. He outlined how the winner could set up arguments for whether a salary cap should be implemented or not before relaying a remedy for sports fans that are frustrated with their team. Start/Bench/Cut was next as Bill ranked which college football coach would win a royal rumble, the most delusional people in sports and the biggest surprises in the NFL. Hour two opened with former MLB player and Padres analyst Tony Gwynn Jr. hopping on the show to discuss whether he agrees that the Dodgers-Brewers winner could impact whether there is a lockout after the 2026 season and what the Mariners winning the World Series would mean for baseball. Buy or Sell followed as Bill answered if Kevin Stefanski's response to Mike Tomlin's comments were appropriate and if he could score a basket against a former NBA player. The show ended with Bill debating whether he wants to allow his high school friends on the show next week when they are all together in New York.
Joe is solo for this episode as he begins the show going over the Seattle Mariners taking a commanding lead in the American League Championship Series, the struggling Toronto Blue Jays, and his pick for the rest of the series (1:01). Finally, he gives his All-MLB Teams (26:13), & SO much more!
Guests: Blue Jays third baseman Addison Barger, left fielder Davis Schneider, associate manager DeMarlo Hale Deep Left Field is on the road in Seattle with your Toronto Blue Jays as they try to get back in their best-of-seven American League Championship Series with the Seattle Mariners, having lost the first two games. We assess the mood around the clubhouse with Addison Barger and Davis Schneider, the latter of whom may have thrown a little shade on Jose Bautista's famous Bat Flip home run as we spoke on the 10th anniversary of the big swing. DeMarlo Hale was the Jays' bench coach when Bautista hit the homer that shook the baseball world but, more importantly, he was on the staff when that Jays team overcame a two-games-to-none playoff deficit, having lost both games at home. We talk to him about that accomplishment, now that the Jays are trying to do it again. And, as always, we take your comments and questions in the mailbag at deepleftfield@thestar.ca.
Headlines and 12th Man News with GREGG BELL (Tacoma News Tribune) Gregg has been double-dipping this week, so we start by talking to him about tonight's ALCS game 3. Next up for the Seahawks, it's MNF against the Texans. :30- George Kirby gets the Game 3 starts tonight and while fans might not think of Kirby as the top dog in the rotation, it sure seems like the Mariners do. :35- It's fact or fiction time! Can Bucky make a winning pick and will our bounce backs work today? So many questions! :45- Let's get Reckless at Breakfast! The Milwaukee Brewers are a great organization, but they struggle every year when it comes to the playoffs. Small ball works really well in the regular season and they've proven it, but it doesn't work very well in the postseason… With that being said, the Mariners may need to rely on small ball to get the win against Bieber tonight.
