POPULARITY
In this episode, watercolor painter and designer Paige Poppe delves into the process of becoming multidimensional in a world where we have to brand ourselves. Her artwork is a modern, vibrant spin on the desert and nature. Her “Technicolor Botanical” collection of watercolor paintings interprets the desert in rainbow hues, and continues to stand as some of her most popular pieces since the collection was created poolside in the spring of 2015. While she went to school for architecture, Paige has found her calling as an artist and entrepreneur. She has bridged the gap between these professions and developed techniques through personal branding and collaborations with companies like Bunky Boutique and West Elm to propel her career forward as an artist. This interview really gets to the heart of what it means to be an entrepreneur as an artist and how to manifest income through the techniques previously mentioned. No matter what industry you’re in, I hope you find the takeaways from this interview of value. The tips and tricks mentioned are applicable to so many different avenues that you are sure to be inspired.
Craft show season is upon us, so we wanted to throw it back to Episode 23 with Paige Poppe. Paige Poppe came on the show and talked all about getting involved in your local scene! Paige is an amazing artist from Arizona who has a recognized online brand, but also has this whole local craft/art show thing down to a science! We hope you enjoy this throwback episode! Here is a little more about Paige: Paige Poppe is an Arizona native, currently living + working as a full-time artist in the Valley. Painting every day in Scottsdale, she is surrounded by the beautiful Sonoran desert. She works in watercolor + acrylic, painting the desert landscape and botanicals as her subject matter. Paige is a graduate from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and holds her Bachelor of Architecture degree. Paige is proud to connect with her local community by participating in several local art markets and including Phoenix Flea, the Tempe Arts Festival, and an art installation at Cartel Coffee. She has collaborated on exclusive designs with local apparel brand Overthrow Clothing, and shared her work at events at Madewell Fashion Square and West Elm Kierland. Her work can also be found at several retail boutiques including MADE Art in downtown Phoenix and !Viva! Paso in Paso Robles, CA. Her painting and design work extends to her own products, wedding stationery design, branding and packaging for small businesses, design work for Phoenix Flea marketing, and large scale painting commissions for clients. In this episode of Make It Happen I’m joined by the awesome Paige Poppe and we talk all about how she makes things happen in her business. Paige is a painter, illustrator, and designer and we have a great chat all about her routine, where she finds joy in her business, and how she does things on her own terms along the way.
What makes an artist great? Is it their talent, their passion, or their ability to connect. Paige is one that does all three, and she does it from a place of joy and bliss. Meeting Paige has been a life altering event because she is more than just an artist, she is someone who is helping others through her wildly successful own podcast. She is constantly trying to connect to the people around her through social media, and has become a gem in the Arizona art community. Definitely don't miss out on all her links: http://www.paigepoppe.com/ https://www.instagram.com/paigepoppe/ https://www.facebook.com/paigepoppeart https://www.pinterest.com/paigepoppe/ https://www.youtube.com/user/punkrockparti --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/finding-arizona-podcast/message

In these 2 bonus episodes, you get a chance to meet the co-hosts of Space to Face, Asia Croson and Paige Poppe. In this first bonus episode, Asia Interviews Paige. Paige is an artist and architectural designer.
Paige Poppe is a 22-year-old freelance artist living + creating in Arizona. She work in acrylic + watercolor, and also creates hand painted skateboard addicts. This past Spring she graduated from architecture school at Cal Poly, and is continuing to pursue her architecture career alongside my passion for art. Besides being a painter, Paige is a dreamer, a maker, and coffee addict. You'll never find her sitting still, she's constantly creating! Paige is passionate about pursuing your dreams + bringing creativity to life! I strives to inspire others to do the same, by spreading positive + creative vibes. We had such a great time chatting with Paige! Girlfriend is another one of our amazing dual professional guests! She has a creative business she owns and runs and is also pursuing a career in architecture. We chat with Paige about how much we love Periscope, how living in Copenhagen was a real eye opening experience for her and what she wanted to do with you art. As we do with each interview we start out by asking Paige what her definition of success is. "For me at this time {at 22} it is very fluid. I feel like I a can have success at multiple points despite if i"m doing exactly the things that I want to be doing." "What I've learned doing my art and my art business is it really makes me happy despite maybe the place I'm in...as long as I can come home and work on it, it really brings me a lot of joy." This is such a great perspective and a great outlook to have especially during a time of transition! While Paige is transitioning from college life to finding a full time job and still pursuing her art business, this perspective applies to all of us who are in the middle of transition from one season of life to another! "For long term success would mean continuing to be creative and collaborative...I think ultimate success for me in the future will really be merging architecture and art together." Paige also shares with us how things shifted for her when she realized that because she wants to pursue a career in architecture and continue her art business she doesn't need to rely on only her art to support her financially. This meant a big shift in the commissions she takes on, the art that she creates and her overall outlook with her business. "I'm in a unique situation where my art does not need to support me fully because I am pursuing my architecture career as well."
