Hey, y'all - Part two of two for Dudelander Outlander s7a. We learn many things in this episode, but it would feel like spoilers to mention them here. Suffice it to say, our Dudes (surprisingly!) have very strong feelings about interior design. Lots of love - Allison and Julie (and Kevin and Neal)
Oh lord - Here's Kevin and Neal again, talking about their reactions to Outlander season 7a. They remember some stuff! It's been awhiiiiile....but the laughs are eternal. Part one of two and kind of an abrupt ending to this one. In the style of Dudelander, we're doing the best we can. Lots of love - Allison and Julie (and Kevin and Neal)
Hi, y'all - Janine was in town so we got him in front of a miiicro-phooone to catch up on what he's up to, and also to shoot the shit about Outlander season 7a. He still watches! We had a good time getting the band back together. It would be remiss of me not to quote Amelia "Ham On The Loose" Buzzell re: her amazing photoshop skills - "You've heard of Elf on the Shelf, but are you familiar with JANINE IN THE SCREEN?" Enjoy! Lots of love - Allison, Julie, and Janine
Hi, y'all - We're back on this live show bullshit, rolling the D20 and declaring the "winners" of Outlander season 7A. Thanks to The Oasis Tavern, thanks to our bartenders Elizabeth and Michelle, thanks to Joseph our amazing karaoke jockey, and thanks to the regulars who actually kind of enjoyed it early on a Saturday. But mostly...thanks to all of you buttholes who traveled to join us and sing karaoke with us, and all of you listening right now. You're the best and we mean it. Lots of love - Allison and Julie
H, y'all - Julie and Allison continue their thought-provoking discussion of karaoke (part two of two). It's all because we are SO EXCITED for our live show on September 30th (at the Oasis!), that we're trying to release some wiggles. Lots of Love - Allison and Julie Photo by Alyssa Yung on Unsplash
H, y'all - You can't have part one without part two! Julie and Allison continue their thought-provoking discussion of karaoke (part two of two). h/t to Lauren Rutley of the Slack for the dick epaulette image!! Hi, y'all - Allison and Julie are joined by friend of the show Ruth to discuss the excellent costuming in part one of Outlander season 7. Spoiler - we loved them. From the modern stuff all the way down to Dr. Denzel's apron, we were impressed. Enjoy! Lots of love - Allison, Julie, and Ruth Photo Credit - © Starz (2023)
Hi, y'all - Allison and Julie chat AT LENGTH about Outlander season 7 episode 8 "Turning Points." We really, really loved this episode. It has everything - Claire being a bad bitch, Jamie feeling things, Weeian and Rachael being hot, and sooooo much hot pess. This season has been excellent so far, and if they keep it up, we think the second half will be just as good! We'll have plenty of other stuff to say about the first half of season 7 so stay tuned! We'll get through this Withoutlander the best way we know how...together. Lots of love - Allison and Julie Photo Credit - © Starz (2023)
Hi, y'all - Julie is out this week, but never fear. Allison and Amelia have thoughts and jokes a-plenty about Outlander , season 7 episode 7, "A Practical Guide for Time-Travelers." One thing we can all agree on is that we love Diarmaid Murtagh as Buck MacKenzie, and we would join his Tufty Club any day. Another thing....Roger Mac can fucking ROCK a kilt. Lots of love - Allison and Amelia Photo Credit - © Starz (2023)
**Content Warning - suicide, self-harm. Skip 33:55 - 34:05 to avoid.** Hi, y'all - Who the hell is that guy?? We all felt that, right? It wasn't just us....right? Whiffed "Nuckelavee" reveal aside, there's a lot of good stuff to talk about in this episode. Claire being a boss bitch! Willie being the worst spy! Jamie finally accepting the mantle of Terminator! HAND FLEX!! We promise we don't really think they are throwing shit in there just for us, but the waulking wool lady felt a little on the nose. Confidential to Toby Bakare (Walter Woodcock) - thank you for being excellent at your job! Lots of love - Allison, Julie, and Amelia Photo Credit - © Starz (2023)
Hi, y'all - Another excellent episode! We especially appreciated the modern story line. Roger has gone full daddy and we are here for it! Bree is a boss-ass bitch! Their kids are weird! Their house is a haunted fairy castle! Bree works in a dam filled with dick rock jizz! The past plot lines are good, too. We love a good Murder House. And we always enjoy when a man of discernment and taste figures out that Claire is amazing (Thank you Dr. Denzel). Guess how many French dudes we can name? Now choose half that number. Lots of love - Allison and Julie Photo Credit - © Starz (2023)
Hi, y'all - Oooooh! We. Love. This Episode!! Allison and Julie are joined by Amelia to break down Outlander season 7, episode 4 "A Most Uncomfortable Woman." Willie...Rachel....Weeian....all so good. And to be blessed with another scene featuring an actor who now lives on our Mt. Rushmore of Outlander performances?? Hashtag-blessed! Lots of love- Allison, Julie, and Amelia Photo Credit - © Starz (2023)
Hi, y'all - We enjoyed this episode even if it wasn't the most action-packed (other than the inevitable fire and all those windows exploding, RIP all nine thousand big house windows). Amazing costuming work in this one, and lots of great hot pess! We have returned the favor by recording this episode in which we indulge in quite a bit of hot pess ourselves. Everyone be glad that Adso survived, because if not, we would have peaced out. Lots of love, Allison and Julie Photo Credit - © Starz (2023)
**Content Warning - Sexual Assault** Hi, y'all - We are sure y'all know how we feel about the first ten minutes of this episode, so if you want to skip over discussion of assault skip 05:20ish - 14:00. Everything else was pretty great, though. Thank goodness we get to see David Berry back as the most excellent Coinface/Lord John Grey! The core actors really nail it in this one. We have several discussions about butt jewels, like we would. Enjoy! Lots of love - Allison and Julie Photo Credit - © Starz (2023)
Hi, ya'll - Allison and Julie are back on the Outlander beat, baby! Welcome to Outlander season 7, where we're about to see a metric fuckton of THOOOOSE Cooooaats. But first - let's watch a master at his craft. Mark Lewis Jones is so freakin' good in episode 1 "A Life Well Lost." We enjoyed it....with a few quibbles, naturally (Julie - "too many boats"). Guess how many musical theatre references Allison makes in this episode. Now double that number. Glad to be back - Allison and Julie Photo Credit - © Starz (2023)
OK OK OK!! We know you've all been waiting for us to react to the new official trailer for Outlander season 7. Your wish is our command! Lots of love - Allison and Julie
Hi, Y'all - Allison and Julie got together to discuss the announcement that season eight will be the final season of Outlander. We still have plenty to talk about and no idea of stopping anytime soon! Lots of love - Allison and Julie
Hi, y'all - We're sure you all know that a teaser trailer was recently released for Outlander Season 7. And we're sure that you all know that we were ready to dish about it. Please enjoy! Lots of love - Allison and Julie
Hi, ya'll - Allison, Julie, and Scottie got together for a good ol' point/counterpoint about Outlander season 3 episode 5, "Freedom & Whisky." Is it or is it not a Christmas episode?? Predictably, Julie had forgotten this episode happened in season three for obvious reasons. We hope that you all are enjoying a good winter holiday, however you celebrate! Lots of love - Allison, Julie, and Scottie
Hi, y'all - Allison and Julie got together with Scottie to discuss the casting news for season 7 of Outlander! BEWARE - spoilers start at the 20 minute mark....and really don't stop from there. Really big spoilers starting at 30:22. Lots of love, Julie, Allison, and Scottie
Hi, y'all - The old band got back together and shot the shit for a while. We got to a few mailbag questions, too!! Please enjoy! Lots of love - Allison Julie, and JANINE
Hey y'all, Here's a thing we can't believe we get to type: This week's episode is pretty much just Allison talking to Lauren Lyle. Lauren! Lyle! LAUREN MOTHERF*CKING LYLLLLLLLLLLE. The reason for this brain-melting event is Lauren's excellent new series, which we'll forever call "Marsali Solves Crimes" in our hearts but which is actually called "Karen Pirie." The show, which launched in the U.K. on iTV in September 2022, premiered on BritBox in the U.S. on October 25. So Allison and Lauren talked about that. They also talked about the Big House. And Frasers doing crimes. And other things. As an added bonus, before and after the interview you'll hear Allison, Julie and special guest Aaron "Janine" Pagel (!!!) talk about, you know, how awesome Lauren Lyle is. They also talk about Allison's other interview with Lauren Lyle, which you'll be able to read later this week. (We'll update this post with a link when it's available.) The Drunkcast will be back in a couple weeks with a mailbag! In the meantime, our Patreon pals can keep an eye out for the video version of this interview, which we'll share there for patrons at all levels. Oh my god we've had Lauren Lyle on the pod, A+J
Maybe a "Bridgerton" podcast was inevitable for the Podlander folks? It is, after all, a show that sits at the center of their Venn diagram of interests: TV romances, Regency nonsense, and butts. A rotating cast of hosts (including Allison Shoemaker, Amelia Buzzell and many other familiar Podlander friends) will lovingly dissect the adventures of the horniest siblings in Christendom. Come for the butts, stay for the thoughts about corsetry, consent, and pop covers. And the butts. Have we mentioned the butts? Hosts: Bryan Bosque, Amelia Buzzell, Keenan Caldwell, Scottie Caldwell, Aaron Pagel, Allison Shoemaker, Julie Starbird and friends.
Hi, y'all - Neal and Kevin are back at it for part two of two for Dudelander, season 6. While they are not the biggest Outlander fans, they both agree with us that Jessica Reynolds and Mark Lewis Jones are both amazing. Come for the dumb jokes, stay for the insightful criticism. Lots of love - Allison and Julie
Hi, y'all - Seems like just yesterday we put microphones in front of Kevin and Neal to break it down for Dudelander Season 5. Well, the dudes are back for Outlander Season 6! We split this one into two episodes because we simply cannot shut up. Enjoy! Lots of love, Allison and Julie
Hey y'all, So we threw a lil' wake for Janine's microphone in the form of a livestream on Crowdcast. You can watch the replay of the whole shebang on Patreon (at any level of support!) but we wanted to share this section with everyone. Lots of love- Allison, Julie, and Janine
Hey, y'all - We pulled out Julie's Nutsack of Destiny(TM) dice bag and rolled the DnD dice to determine all of our (non-binding) winners of Outlander, Season 6! People showed up! It was very fun. Michelle from The Oasis wants you to know that she loves you all. Back soon - Julie and Allison
Hey, y'all - Friend of the show Amelia Buzzell drops in to discuss the finale of an excellent season of television. Thanks to everyone involved in making Outlander season 6 - we salute you. Speaking of excellence, everyone give Mark Lewis Jones a round of applause for the master class on acting he has taught us all this season. And then for more stupid types of excellence, listen on for a new legendary nickname and more hilarious shenanigans. L ots of love - Allison, Julie, Janine, and Amelia
Hey, y'all - Your favorite throuple (Allison, Julie, and Janine) got together in person one last time to discuss the penultimate episode of season 6, "Sticks and Stones." We had a great time, and hope you all do, too! Caitriona Balfe is putting in some crazy good work this season. Much love to Janine in his future adventures! Lots of love - Allison, Julie, and Janine (one silent teardrop)
Hi, y'all - Here's the second part of our two-parter on Season 6 Episode 6 of Outlander, "The World Turned Upside Down". Jessica Reynolds is amazing. There's nothing else to say because we say everything else in this episode. Lots of love - Julie, Allison, and Janine
Y'all - This episode. We love it. Here's the first in a two-part review/recap because we CANNOT STOP talking about it. Great writing and directing, amazing acting, incredible costumes and makeup..... Second episode out soon, we promise. This episode 'runs' the gamut, if you know what I'm saying. And I think that you doo. Lots of love - Julie, Allison, and Janine
Y'all - What a ride! We don't even feel like we can write an introduction that does justice to the twists and turns of this episode. Suffice it to say, we are all really glad to see David Berry make his...triumphant(?) return. Let's all go out to the gazebo and talk it out whilst passing a fat one. Maid Face 4 Lyfe! Lots of love - Julie, Allison and Janine
Hi, y'all - The gang is back together (virtually) to dissect and discuss the newest episode of "Outlander." Sam Heughan really put in some great work this time, but the Platinum Pamplemousse goes to John Bell for breaking our hearts into a thousand jagged pieces. Also - what the fuck is up with Malva Christie? Lots of love - Julie, Allison and Janine
Hey, y'all - Friend-of-the-show Jen Moniz joined Julie IN PERSON to watch and recap episode three! She brought a blueberry cake, so you know she was raised right. Hi, Mom! They had a great time with this one, even with all the sad themes. César Domboy really dialed it in, and that was good to see. Lots of love - Julie (Allison and Janine will be back soon, I promise)
Allison is out of town so Julie and Janine do their best with absolutely zero book knowledge to recap "Outlander" season 6 episode 2. There's some laughs and some learning along the way. Both of them agree that John Bell is amazing at all times, as per usual. Lots of love - Julie and Janine
We're back on Fraser's Ridge, people! Janine is going back to being clueless, so Allison and Julie have to fill him in on all the goings-on. This was a good episode of television! Lots of love - Julie, Allison, and Janine
CW // sexual assault, sexual violence Hey, y'all... It's Dudelander time! We chat about 'Outlander' season 5 with Neal and Kevin, as is tradition. They forgot almost everything. Next up... NEW OUTLANDER SEASON, BABBBBYYYYYYYYYY! Lots of love - Julie and Allsion
Hey, y'all - We're gearing up for all this Outlander content and getting in the swing of things by reacting to ANOTHER trailer. This is the one that was released on January 19, 2021. Make sure you have it ready to go for a watch along. Janine really commits to the bit on this one. Enjoy! Lots of love - Allison, Julie and Janine
Hey, y'all - We watched the Outlander Season 6 teaser that came out on December 25, 2021 AND the new opening credits. We have reactions and thoughts! Listen in. Lots of love - Allison, Julie, and Janine
Hey, y'all - On Friday December 10 2021, we were at it again, making up weird and stupid Outlander-themed fanfic for a live audience at C2E2. As always, there are moments of hilarity, moments of confusion, and moments of pure mess. Please enjoy! Lots of love - Julie, Allison, and Janine
Hi, Y'all - We watched "A Princess for Christmas." In this episode, we set clear debate rules, and mostly follow them. Tell us what you think - is this a great movie, or the GREATEST movie? Discuss. Lots of love - Julie, Allison, and Janine
Hi, y'all - In October 2021, we got invited to New York Comic Con to do a panel. We provided some raucous live Outlander fanfic. At turns hilarious and awkward, we feel it is very on brand. Enjoy! Lots of love - Allison, Julie, Janine, and a muffled Amelia

Hey y'all, Please read this, if you have a minute. Our next episode was meant to be our take on the fifth A&E/BBC PP as adapted by Emma Thompson's nemesis. As you'll hear, things had to shift a bit. Don't worry! That's coming this week! But for now, here's our 100th episode. We recorded this Friday night the week of the election, and as you may recall, that week was a weird one, and we were all a little sleep-deprived and emotional. So this episode may not be quite as funny as you might expect, but frankly we all got swept away by how much doing this show has meant to us, not least because it gave us the chance to connect with so many of you. So forgive us our weepiness. We also, as is our way, prepared inadequately. (It's our brand, y'all.) As such, there are absolutely some people we forgot to thank. So please just know, from the bottom of our hearts, how much we appreciate all of you and the roles you've played in our lives, especially over the last year. Thank you to every person who ever guested on the pod, everyone who's ever donated or sent us a kind note or silly gift, who's come to a live show or told a friend or (and this is the big one) reached out when we were being idiots. It has meant, and means, so much. Here's to another 100. Lots of love, Allison, Julie, and Janine
Hey y'all, This week, Julie took a nap and Janine did some space stuff while Allison and special guest Jenna Pulkowski talked book shit for Outlander's fifth season. Should go without saying, but do not listen to this episode if you have not read the books and want to remain unspoiled! Please join us for our season five dice-rollin' awards-givin' wrap-up spectacular, live on Sunday 5/24 at 1 p.m. CST. This event is open to all listeners, not just patrons, so feel free to "bring" a friend (or a "friend," no judgments.) Link here: https://www.crowdcast.io/e/live-s5-party Last, a brief CONTENT WARNING: there's a brief discussion of sexual abuse and sexual violence from roughly 42:30 to 44:10. Lots of love, Julie, Allison, and Janine (and Jenna!)
Hey y'all, Woof, here we go. Early in the episode, you'll hear Allison talk about a safe jump-ahead point for anyone who might want to avoid our discussion of the sexual violence in "Never My Love." You can listen safely until the five-minute mark and then skip ahead if you want to avoid all prolonged discussion of the first half of the episode. If you jump to 33:50, you'll hit the section where we talk about the dissociative episodes (the "Never My Love" stuff); if you jump to 49:52, you'll skip to the battle in the woods and Claire's recovery. Any mentions past that point are fleeting, though we do discuss her recovery at length. You should also stop reading these show-notes now, we love you, you look super nice today, love that top, your hair is so shiny, you're doing great, we'll see you next week. For the rest of you: There's a lengthy discussion in this episode about the show's history of sexual violence, and we wanted to mention that our list is depressingly and distressingly incomplete. The fact that it's difficult to remember every instance of sexual violence in this show is, frankly, bonkers. But we forgot Fergus in season two. We forgot Weeian in season three. We forgot Jamie in season three (biting or no biting, Geneva Dunsaney extorts sex from Jamie, so that's another one.) And sadly, we're pretty sure there are others. That's messed up. Our feelings about that are really complicated, so just know that if yours are too, you're not alone—and whether or not these stories are well-handled is a separate issue from when, why, and how often they're addressed. Anyway, however you feel about it, your feelings are valid. Anyway, your hair is also shiny and your shirt is also super cute and you are wonderful just in general, we love you, and we'll be back next week for some season-overview chat. And here's the Brian Dennehy song we referenced: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oqrtoFWglMY&feature=youtu.be. Lots of love, Allison, Julie, and Janine
