Many of us struggle with anxiety—we're preoccupied with wondering if and how things will work out. But God didn't design us to live this way. When Jesus sacrificed Himself on the cross, He took the weight of the world onto His shoulders. We can have peace because God has a plan. Peace is His presence in our lives—we have the holy Answer to anxiety within us already!
Fire doesn't need advertising—everyone can tell where it is. In our daily spiritual battles, we should seek the fire of the Holy Spirit! When the Holy Spirit illuminates to us what the Word of God says, it's as if a holy fire erupts in our souls. And fires spread, right? Let's ask the Lord today to fill us afresh with His Spirit so His fire will spread light wherever we go.
Join us for our very last prayer meeting of the year. There is so much we need to seek the LORD over, especially as we look ahead to what awaits us in 2026. This will be an important and intentional time of prayer, listening, and unity as we come before Him together. Do not miss this gathering, because I truly believe the LORD not only desires to speak to us, but He also wants to work through us as we speak to Him!
Jesus protects and builds His church through prayer. He also judges those who oppose Him.
“Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”Psalm 90:12
When was the last time we prayed for missionaries? Places like South Sudan are in desperate need of the news of salvation. Missionary Ray Noah shares stories from the mission field and encouragement for us all from the great commission. Jesus goes with us when we go out with the gospel. We are given power from Him! If He is with us and empowering us, why would we ever hold back from sharing?
People can be very aggravating. It is only by the Holy Spirit working within us that we can avoid lashing out at others sometimes! Our lives are testimonies of the Lord—we'd better handle things well. The Bible says that it is to our glory to overlook an offense. We Christians don't pray for patience often enough. Let's pray for patience from the Holy Spirit so that we can glorify God when altercations arise.
"When Jesus departed from there, two blind men followed Him, crying out and saying," Son of David, have mercy on us!"
We all need a Samuel experience. Remember Samuel from the Bible? When God called him as a young child, Samuel said, “Speak, Lord.” All Israel's history was changed because a little boy received a word from the Lord. Let's pray to have open hearts to whatever God wants us to hear! Our lives can be radically changed by a few powerful words if they're from the Lord. He's speaking today. Are we listening?
We would be so blessed to have you join us for our all-church prayer meeting. It's critically important that we come together and seek the LORD, because when we pray, we step into the invisible realm where the real battle is taking place. There is so much to lift before Him here at Calvary Chapel Signal Hill, and we invite you to stand with us as we call upon the name of the LORD.

In life, we all face trials—illness, heartbreak, employment issues, the loss of loved ones. How can we be thankful amid these challenges? Our God is full of grace, mercy, and compassion. He holds us when we feel like everything is falling apart. The Lord is always working, and that's a reason to be grateful! Let's thank God for how He heals, holds, and guides us.

“The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds; there is none who does good.”Psalm 14:1
We Christians often hear that the Holy Spirit lives inside of us, but He doesn't want to just stay there! If we submit to Him, the Holy Spirit manifests Himself through our words and actions so that others can see Jesus in us. When we allow the Holy Spirit to work this way, we reflect the power of a living God. Let's pray for the Holy Spirit to manifest Himself in our lives. He will do things beyond our imaginations!
“Then Jesus went with them to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to his disciples, “Sit here, while I go over there and pray.” And taking with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, he began to be sorrowful and troubled. Then he said to them, “My soul is very sorrowful, even to death; remain here, and watch with me.” And going a little farther he fell on his face and prayed, saying, “My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as you will.””Matthew 26:36-39
Jesus made something very clear: in this life, we will have pain. Just because we're Christians doesn't mean we'll escape hardships; it means we have God Almighty to run to and trust in when those hard times come. Pain is not a punishment—it's an invitation for us to experience God more. The choice of how we react to pain is completely up to us. God is always good—even when our circumstances aren't.
In 1727, a small group of believers gathered in a German village called Herrnhut — and what happened there changed the world. The Holy Spirit fell on a divided community, transforming it into a movement of love, unity, and unceasing prayer that would ignite missions across the globe. In this episode, Jack unpacks the powerful story of Count Zinzendorf and the Moravian Pentecost — the revival that led to a 100-year prayer meeting and influenced revivalists like John Wesley and the modern missions movement. If you've ever wondered what real revival looks like… this is it. It doesn't begin with noise. It begins with love.#prayer #revival #faith
“And rising very early in the morning, while it was still dark, he departed and went out to a desolate place, and there he prayed. And Simon and those who were with him searched for him, and they found him and said to him, “Everyone is looking for you.” And he said to them, “Let us go on to the next towns, that I may preach there also, for that is why I came out.” And he went throughout all Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and casting out demons.”Mark 1:35-39
Every day we face decisions that require wisdom. How can we be wise enough to make the right choice every time? On our own, we can't! We need to ask God for wisdom and believe that He's going to provide it. God never intended for us to walk around making unwise decisions. He wants to give us the wisdom we need—we just have to ask Him with fervent belief.
Paul, Liz, and Adam Barker, our A Praying Life Ministry Director, sat down to share ideas about how to lead a good prayer meeting -- whether an "official" meeting or any gathering of Christian friends who pray for one another. "I watched my dad over the years leading prayer meetings. There were so many little things he did, but it seemed there were two aspects that were really key. First was the people there and what was on their hearts. The second was drawing people into the larger work of God. If you get too heavy on either side, the meeting gets unbalanced." "A good prayer meeting brings love and prayer together: people are listening to one another before prayer and listening to one another during prayer." "Sometimes, you have to stop and celebrate as opposed to rushing on. Being curious, remembering past requests, drawing people out. There's this huge exercise of love behind a prayer meeting, which hopefully helps the people praying learn to love too. It is just just lovely when that happens."
“And the Lord said, “Hear what the unrighteousness judge says. And will not God give justice to his elect, who cry to him day and night? Will he delay long over them? I tell you, he will give justice to them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?” Luke 18:6-8
How amazing is it that Almighty God wants to be with us? He keeps our prayers in Heaven—they are that precious to Him! In our churches and our personal lives, we need to spend more time in prayer. The most effective stance we have against Satan is a strong prayer life. The Holy Spirit makes us aware of situations we can avoid when we spend time with Him. Let's get praying!

“Shout for joy in the Lord, O you righteous! Praise befits the upright. Give thanks to the Lord with the lyre; make melody to him with the harp of ten strings! Sing to him a new song; play skillfully on the strings, with loud shouts.”Psalm 33
Good things don't just happen—they occur when God's people work with and for Him to bring His good will all over the earth. Jesus doesn't need us—He is the Light of the world. He knows exactly who we are and how we've failed, but He invites us to participate anyway! Tomorrow is never promised, and yesterday is passed. We only have today—let's share Jesus's light with the world!
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.”Romans 8:28
Have you ever felt prompted to speak to or pray with a stranger? That prompting comes from the Holy Spirit! When we follow Him, He speaks through us to the people God brings our way. We need to care for others more than we care for ourselves—and we need to do it humbly. With God's help, we can bless and uplift those who need it.
Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.Ephesians 4:32
We want to be liked by others so much that we forget to tell a lost and dying world about the love of God. It's time to tell someone the gospel! Just someone hearing the gospel is a victory—Jesus can work in that person's heart with what he or she heard! When we pray for opportunities to witness, God will set up divine appointments. Let's live with eternity in mind and love the lost.

How can I be bold in my Christian faith? This message from Ps David Lindell is from Acts chapter 4 and shows that supernatural boldness comes when we expect opposition, anticipate effectiveness, pursue God's presence, and accelerate through prayer. Our prayer is that you will be filled with the Holy Spirit and step out in courage, knowing that where there is boldness, there will be breakthrough.
“And after six days Jesus took with him Peter and James and John, and led them up a high mountain by themselves. And he was transfigured before them, and his clothes became radiant, intensely white, as no one on earth could bleach them. And there appeared to them Elijah with Moses, and they were talking with Jesus. And Peter said to Jesus, “Rabbi, it is good that we are here. Let us make three tents, one for you and one for Moses and one for Elijah.”Mark 9:2-5
Although we may not feel like it, every Christian body is a temple for the Holy Spirit—God Almighty is living inside born-again believers! The odd thing is, we still try to act with our human desires, and thus we don't please God. Only the life-changing power of the Spirit can make us do things for Christ! Tell your human spirit that it's not in control of your life—God is!
Please consider joining us in person or online to engage in the spiritual battle as we pray for the many things necessary in order to have victory in the time and day in which we live!
Jesus told us that we would do even greater works than He did—but what does that mean? We often aren't even bold enough to share our faith or overcome sins in our daily lives! But it's not up to us to convert people or produce spiritual fruit on our own! If we just get in the presence of God and behold His holiness, He will fill us with the power of the Holy Spirit. We'll be so full of awe that we can't keep God's love to ourselves! Let's behold the Lord's goodness today and watch what happens.
Life is a waiting game—waiting for the train, a call, a delivery. What's important is how we act during those times. As Christians, we are waiting for the return of Christ. Until then, we represent Him here on earth! Do our words and actions reflect the love and holiness of God our Father? We are commanded to be holy, even in waiting periods. Only through the Holy Spirit can we succeed.
Pastor JD speaks about praying in and through our pain, suffering, trials and tribulation from which no believer is exempt but how that God has included numerous scriptures in the pages of Holy Writ to forewarn us in order to more importantly encourage us.
