While Pastor Jim spends most of his time preaching the Bible and leading a church, he still keeps up with his love of science. In today's episode, we talk about what advancements in science have him excited and how he continues to find the integration of faith and science strong. It was a fun conversation to explore deep into one of Pastor Jim's favorite topics and hopefully inspire future Christian scientists and students. It might be a great episode to pass on to a friend or child with similar interests.
Although we may not feel like it, every Christian body is a temple for the Holy Spirit—God Almighty is living inside born-again believers! The odd thing is, we still try to act with our human desires, and thus we don't please God. Only the life-changing power of the Spirit can make us do things for Christ! Tell your human spirit that it's not in control of your life—God is!
What a curse grumbling is! The Lord has given us more than we could ever need, yet we still find ways to complain. But God is with us, and He has a purpose for our circumstances. We should give Him thanks in the hard times as well as the good—the Bible tells us to be thankful for everything! Let's pray for spirits of thankfulness today. May we never forget God's goodness.
This week, Pastor Jim walks us through Hebrews 10:1–18, where we see the insufficiency of the law's repeated sacrifices compared to Christ's once-for-all offering. The old sacrifices served only as a shadow, never able to fully cleanse the worshiper. But through Jesus' perfect obedience and single sacrifice, we are made holy, forgiven, and assured that our sins are remembered no more.Text: Hebrews 10:1-18
Join Pastor Jim for Part 2 of the transformative "Mentor" series, where he delivers powerful truths about faithfulness, character development, and the path to promotion in God's kingdom. Through compelling personal stories—from cleaning church bathrooms and prison ministry to handling offense early in his ministry—Pastor Jim illustrates how God qualifies us for greater assignments by testing our faithfulness in small things. With a blend of humor, transparency, and biblical wisdom, this message will challenge you to become a "learn-it-all" instead of a "know-it-all," emphasizing that the currency for promotion is faithfulness, not giftedness. Whether you're seeking practical guidance on being mentored, looking for encouragement in your current season of service, or need a reminder about the importance of local church community, this message will inspire you to embrace God's character-building process with joy and excellence.

We're continuing our study, taking questions from listeners, and today we have a question about staying healthy for ministry. Pastor Jim and I look at the topic of health, fitness, and pursuing longevity. We discuss how we have both failed and succeeded, and why Christians should think more about the body and recognize how the Christian faith leads to physical responsibility.
How should we pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ? In this week's sermon, Pastor Jim continues our series in Ephesians with a look at how the Apostle Paul prayed. We can take lessons from Paul by praying constantly, thankfully, and telling people we're praying for them. We should also pray that God will help them to know Him deeply and be able to see their burstingly full bank account in the heavenlies. This week, our hosts continue their discussion on the book of Ephesians, the big talking point is prayer, they go over how we can have faith focused prayer, how to share that we are praying for someone without bosting about it, and if Paul knew his letters would be used as scripture one day. Oh and tune into the beginning to hear our hosts talk about some prayer stories they had as kids.If you would like to watch the video podcast, find us on YouTube:https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCMhDfGn0zfzi6XjcKkSVcFAFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/discovertbcInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/topekabiblechurchWebsite: https://www.discovertbc.com/

The difference between being rich and poor could be as simple as one good deed. A five-dollar bill doesn't mean much here on earth—but if it's used to bless others, it has extreme value in heaven! On the other hand, $50,000 on earth is meaningless if it is used only for selfish reasons. If we have Christ, we are rich! Let's be like Him and bless others today!
Pastor Jim extended his series “Praying Down the Rain” an extra week to address the martyrdom of Charlie Kirk. Charlie's death triggered a worldwide revival. He showed a video where revival for Jesus Christ is breaking out all over the world: in Germany, New Zealand, Italy, London, Korea, Brazil, Australia, Pakistan, Venice, Poland, Sweden, Paris, France, Netherlands, Mexico, United States. The scriptural reference for his message is Ephesians 6:12, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers…” He exhorted us to use our spiritual authority against these rulers of darkness, to thwart the enemy's plans and purposes. Our Links–• Join The Prayer Movement!: https://theprayermovement.com• Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/livingwordmn• Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/livingwordmn• Stay up to date with all things LWCC at https://www.LWCC.org• Join our Online Church community here: https://www.lwcc.org/onlinechurch• Give online: https://www.lwcc.org/give/• If you recently committed your life to God, we'd like to give you a free eBook to help you in your spiritual journey. Pastor Jim explores Jesus' conversation with the woman at the well in John 4, revealing worship as a response to encountering God in truth and spirit. Jim challenges listeners to see how true worship is more than ritual or location. It is a response to the presence of Jesus that transforms our identity, confronts sin with grace, and overflows into proclamation. The woman's story illustrates how our thirst for belonging, healing, and spiritual vitality is met in Christ alone. Whether we are skeptical, ashamed, or stuck in patterns of religious routine, Jesus invites us into a deeper, everyday rhythm of worship that flows through our entire lives.

The source is an excerpt from a sermon that focuses on the biblical story of Noah's Ark and the Great Flood as recorded in Genesis 6:9-22. The preacher explores the question of whether the flood is myth or history, arguing that the account is historical and aligns with archaeological evidence like worldwide flood legends and geological findings such as massive fossil beds. The sermon contrasts this biblical narrative with the scientific concept of uniformitarianism, suggesting that the latter requires deliberately overlooking evidence of a catastrophic, worldwide event. Finally, the speaker discusses the themes of God's judgment and covenant in the story, emphasizing that Noah's salvation was an act of unmerited grace requiring him to express his faith through obedience by building the ark.Support the showThanks for listening! Greg and Jim Lowe discuss current issues from a biblical perspective. Topics include forgiveness after being under attack, cancel culture and the right to free speech and how the pastors and church leaders can respond in these trying days.
Holiness is not a burden, but rather it is a joyous response to God's love. Pastor Jim challenges us to accept God's love fully, reminding us that our behavior doesn't earn His love, but rather reflects the depth of our relationship with Him. Haven't we all tried telling God how to run our lives? We connect all the dots and explain to the Lord how He should fix our issues—but the more we run the show, the worse it gets! Our Father wants us to trust Him, not control Him. Beautiful things happen when we release our hold on life and let God make it better than anything we could ever do ourselves!
The central symbol of Christianity is the cross. It is almost unfathomable that a method of execution could become a powerful symbol of love and forgiveness. Yet somehow, the old rugged cross has come to represent a cosmic event that ensures the safe journey of our souls. Join us this weekend for a spiritual exploration of the meaning of the cross.

This week, Pastor Jim takes us through Hebrews 9:1–28, where we see the contrast between the old covenant sacrifices and the once-for-all sacrifice of Christ. Earthly rituals could never fully remove sin, but Jesus, through His own blood, secured eternal redemption. He is the perfect mediator, offering us cleansing, forgiveness, and the promise of everlasting life.Text: Hebrews 9:1–28
Pastor Jim shares a moving message about the universal longing for belonging, drawing from the story of Zacchaeus in Luke 19. Jim explores how Jesus invites outsiders into the family of God, offering acceptance before transformation. While the world often demands people change before they are welcomed, Jesus reverses this by seeing beyond brokenness and offering identity through relationship. Jim challenges listeners to consider where they find their worth, what false identities they chase, and whether their lives are pointing others toward Jesus. This message is a call to embrace God's invitation to belong and find true significance in Him.

This sermon centers on God's perception of humanity's hearts and the resulting divine grief over widespread corruption, as depicted in Genesis 6. The speaker emphasizes that God's standards of good and evil transcend human subjective feelings and cultural norms, asserting that God alone accurately judges the intentions of the heart. Despite overwhelming wickedness, the narrative highlights Noah finding favor (grace) with God due to his faith and obedience, offering a solitary point of hope amidst impending judgment. The sermon concludes by linking this ancient account to the modern need for repentance and faith in Jesus, who is presented as the ultimate absorber of God's just wrath against sin.Support the showThanks for listening! Life of David Week 5 | Pastor Jim Angelakos | Wednesday, September 10, 2025
Sometimes what seems logical is not actually best. Abraham found that out when he ran to Egypt during a famine and ended up in big trouble with the leader of the land! God has a perfect plan—and moving away from His will can send us into a spiral. But praise God, even when we wander, we can go back to where God wants us to be! His arms are always open to welcome us home.
In this powerful continuation of the "Cultural Kids or Kids That Count" series, Pastor Jim delivers practical wisdom for raising children who can thrive in today's challenging culture, focusing on four essential gifts parents must give their children: a consistent Christian example that demonstrates integrity and stability (especially through strong marriages), unconditional love that accepts without affirming sin while providing truth and appropriate consequences, biblical wisdom that teaches children to ask "What does the Bible say?" when facing decisions, and genuine encouragement that builds character over performance. Through personal stories, biblical insights, and real-world applications, this message equips parents, grandparents, and anyone involved in shaping young lives with the tools to create resilient, faith-filled children who can navigate an increasingly difficult world while maintaining their Christian values and finding their identity in Christ rather than cultural approval.
After 38 years of ministry, Pastor Jim shares powerful lessons of faith, calling, and God's strength in our weakness. Be encouraged to trust God's plan, embrace forgiveness, and remember that He can do extraordinary things through ordinary people.

Luke 14 is the classic text used to describe the high cost of discipleship. It seems to say that if you truly want to follow Jesus, you must give up everything else. Sure, it sounds rousing to shout, “I'm ALL IN!”—but what does that really mean? And isn't it okay to dip a toe in the water first? Dr. Keck will suggest that Jesus would also welcome those who are just checking him out.

Coming Out Of The Wilderness | Pastor Jim Boyd | Refuge City ChurchSupport the show
This week, Pastor Jim walks us through Hebrews 8:1–13, where we see the promise of a better covenant. Jesus, our High Priest, mediates this new covenant built on grace, not law—one that brings forgiveness, transformation, and the assurance of God's presence written on our hearts.Text: Hebrews 8:1–13Recorded: 09-07-25
Pastor Jim reflects on Jesus' invitation to “Come and see” in John 1:35–51, emphasizing that God is not a platform, performance, or political position, but a person who invites us into relationship. He explores how the first disciples, ordinary people seeking approval, security, and significance, were met by Jesus not with demands but with an invitation. Through vivid storytelling and personal reflection, Jim reveals how Jesus continues to invite us to journey with Him, revealing both God's identity and our own. Regardless of our skepticism, search, or seasoned faith, the call remains the same: come, follow, and be transformed.
Paul knows he will likely never see these Ephesian elders again, and so he gathers them for one final meeting. Pastor Jim leaves us with four questions to consider: • Do I see the church as a family to love, or just a service to attend? • Am I participating in prayer with and for my church family? • Does my love for God's people show in real affection, sacrifice, and even sorrow at parting? • Am I committed for the long haul, building the kind of deep relationships that only time and presence can create?
If we wake up every morning doubting God's goodness and wondering whether He will be true to His word, we are terribly blotting His holy name and reputation! One of Satan's greatest lies is that God won't bless us. But God is good—He loves us and does not forget His children. No matter what we face or how we feel, we can declare that the Lord will bless us!
In today's episode, we're answering a question about God's will and how we should think about God's will when we face loss, suffering, and challenges. If God is sovereign, does that mean that everything that happens is his will? How can we trust God when things don't seem to be going our way? As we discuss, it's a familiar theological question, but it's also one of the most personal. It's a chance for Pastor Jim to reflect both personally and pastorally.
As we journey toward heaven, trouble finds us along the way! We get wronged or offended, and we feel all alone. But as the apostle Paul at the end of his life made clear to young Timothy, we're never alone. God is with us, and He'll bring us through anything! When we are let down by others, we must remember that the Lord will make things right. What we're going through is not forever. One day we'll see Jesus, and He will wipe every tear from our eyes!
