Discerning the true signs and service of the end times. Discover the complete message Jesus intended for us about the end times in this powerful teaching on Matthew 24 and 25. While many focus solely on the dramatic signs and warnings of the last days, Pastor Jim reveals the often-overlooked second half of Jesus' message . . . the practical service and focus that should characterize our lives right now. Learn why being ready isn't just about watching for indicators, but about actively serving people, producing fruit for the kingdom, and making your life count for what truly matters. This message will shift your perspective from fear-based conspiracy thinking to purposeful, hope-filled living that impacts eternity.
"You're not just declared righteous, you're empowered to be righteous!" Believers here-and-now have the first chapter of our salvation mastered: Jesus paid the penalty for our sin. We stand clean before our holy God. But if we have PhDs in Justification, many of us are back in preschool on the subject of Sanctification. We're missing some knowledge on how to turn our right status into right actions. Pastor Jim is here to help us find that information. This past weekend, Pastor Jim presented us with “The List.” The List is comprised of 1st Corinthians 13:4–8, which is the love chapter and Galatians 5:22, which lists the fruit of the spirit. He said, “God expects us to love others like it's listed in these verses. It's a goal for us to achieve. And, really, this is how God loves us.”The Lord asked Pastor Jim to examine his life in comparison to the items on the lists to see how he stacks up, and then to use the outcome of the examination to bring about change where needed. After he went through the list, he asked the congregation, “When we went through those 22 things on the list, raise your hand if you felt any condemnation at all.” Many raised their hands. He said, “To those people who raised their hands, what that says is you do not completely believe or understand the cross, the resurrection, and what comes with it. If you think God is condemning you, you have no faith.”Our Links–• Join The Prayer Movement!: https://theprayermovement.com• Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/livingwordmn• Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/livingwordmn• Stay up to date with all things LWCC at https://www.LWCC.org• Join our Online Church community here: https://www.lwcc.org/onlinechurch• Give online: https://www.lwcc.org/give/• If you recently committed your life to God, we'd like to give you a free eBook to help you in your spiritual journey. This week, Pastor Jim walks us through Hebrews 12:18–29, where we're reminded of the incredible gift we have in Christ. Instead of approaching God with fear like Israel did at Mount Sinai, but a new one like Mount Zion. One marked by God's presence, His people, and the hope we have in Jesus. The passage urges us to pay attention to God's voice and hold tightly to the unshakable kingdom He's given us. Recorded: November 16, 2025
In this fourth part of our series, Pastor Jim guides us on a tour of how we came to have so many Bible translations, what the differences are between them as well as how to find the right study Bible for your particular needs.
The source is a podcast sermon delivered by a pastor named Jim West from ColonialKC, focusing on a passage from the Book of Genesis. Specifically, the message interprets the story of the Tower of Babel (Genesis 11:1–9) as an illustration of humanity's sinful inclination toward self-promotion, self-protection, and the "idolatry of our own opinion." West argues that the people's desire to build a tower and a city was a direct act of disobedience to God's command to "fill the earth." The sermon then contrasts this human tendency with God's "merciful redirection," asserting that God confuses their language and disperses them for their own ultimate benefit, preventing them from corrupting themselves entirely. The pastor closes by urging the audience to trust God's will over their own judgment, citing Jesus's perfect obedience as the ultimate example.Support the showThanks for listening! Why Israel Matters | Pastor Jim Weaver | Refuge City ChurchSupport the show
Pastor Jim teaches from Ephesians 5 and calls listeners to live as children of light who redeem their days, know God's will, and walk in the Spirit. Jim explains that wisdom is more than knowledge or behavior; it is wanting what God wants and aligning our lives with His desires. He challenges listeners to see each moment as an opportunity to pull what is broken out of darkness and into the light, to discern God's moral will through Scripture, and to remain filled with the Spirit by soaking in the gospel. Rather than being swept along by culture or religious noise, Jim reminds us that wisdom grows as we walk with the Spirit in everyday choices, allowing God's light to shape how we live, love, and worship. When we root our lives in Christ, we not only see clearly but begin to reflect that light into the world around us.

We live in the information age. The internet is full of voices, advice, and increasingly theological teaching and commentary. Every day, we're forced to evaluate what is true and who is worth listening to. In our conversation today, Pastor Jim explores the necessity of believers learning to recognize false teaching and why, as leaders, it's one of our primary jobs.

What'cha thinkin' about? On Friday we were thinking about fence posts - some metaphorical pillars that can help steady our minds when they start to go wobbly. And Jim will bring that idea home on today's broadcast. But the Apostle Paul has some more general advice for the Philippians: Reflect on the good. The encouraging, noble, inspiring things in life - whatever they are - are worthy of our contemplation. Let's join Pastor Jim at Philippians 3, verse 15. Delighting in the Word of GodPsalm 119:1-24The Village Chapel - 11/09/2025Have you ever hungered for a word that steadies your soul, a word that lights your path when the way grows dark, or a word that stirs hope and awakens joy when your heart feels heavy?Psalm 119 invites us to such a word—not just to read it and study it, but to delight in it—to savor each phrase, each promise, each truth. And even more than that, to delight in the God who speaks it: the God whose heart is revealed in every verse, the God who longs to draw us close, to reassure us, and to bless us.Come to God's Word with your questions, your longings, your doubts, and your fears. Come and let the Word of God do its work in you as it transforms your heart. This week, Pastor Jim walks us through Hebrews 12:1–17, where we are told to run the race of faith with endurance and keep our eyes on Jesus. God's loving discipline shapes us into holiness, even through hardship, producing peace and righteousness in our lives. We're also called to strengthen one another and pursue holiness together.Text: Hebrews 12:1–17 Recorded: November 9, 2025
Throughout the book of Genesis, which was clearly written thousands of years ago, there are predictions and promises made by God that are inescapably true to this day. God promised that a descendant of Adam and Eve would one day crush the head of the Liar. By virtue of the historical narrative of Genesis and the Old Testament, we can trace the fulfillment of that promise from generation to generation until we come to a manger in Bethlehem.Support the showThanks for listening! Pastor Jim suspended his teaching series on the book of Romans and said, “I want to stretch your imagination, especially the people that are into prayer and their connection with God.” He used Ephesians 3:20 as a springboard into his message: “Now to Him Who, by (in consequence of) the [action of His] power that is at work within us, is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams]” (Amp. Classic). The phrase, “To do superabundantly far over above all that we dare ask or think” expounds on the truth that our God is limitless in what we can acquire regarding the promises of the Bible. How do we acquire this limitlessness in God? Pastor Jim teaches it is by having the eyes of your heart, or the eyes of your spirit, flooded with the knowledge of God. Pastor Jim explores Romans 16 and the call to be wise toward what is good and innocent toward what is evil. Jim challenges the common tendency to focus on external behavior by pointing upstream to the source: belief. False gospels and counterfeit teachings often creep in subtly, creating division and temptation while masquerading as righteousness. Jim reminds listeners that wise belief in the true gospel of Jesus produces lasting fruit and unity, while false gospels elevate performance and foster pride. Through cultural examples and personal reflection, he urges the church to remain anchored in the gospel of grace, not distracted by legalism or religious noise. To spot what is evil, we must first know what is good—and what is good is the gospel.

11/2/2025, Daniel Despicable, Part 1 from Daniel 11: 21-35, Pastor Jim Fleming by Northern Heights
Every day we face decisions that require wisdom. How can we be wise enough to make the right choice every time? On our own, we can't! We need to ask God for wisdom and believe that He's going to provide it. God never intended for us to walk around making unwise decisions. He wants to give us the wisdom we need—we just have to ask Him with fervent belief.
While you may have a job at a church, our families are also a part of the church community. Sometimes churches can have expectations of the whole ministry family. And sometimes growing up in the pastor's home can come with both benefits and challenges. In our conversation, Pastor Jim and I explore how we've navigated raising a family while serving in ministry. How do we serve both our families and the church toward loving Christ?
In the midst of life's most brutal circumstances, we discover a transformative secret: gratitude isn't just a nice religious sentiment—it's the reset button for our souls. Thessalonians 5:16-18: rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances. These aren't suggestions for when life goes well; they're battle instructions for when everything falls apart. Pastor Jim kicks off our new series "Gratitude"
In this week's study, Pastor Jim will guide us through roughly 300-years of church history known as the Early Church Fathers. We will see the church grapple with popularly heresies, intense persecutions, and the intoxicating influence of political power.

Jesus says to all of us, "Come." For some people, that's an invitation to be saved from their sins. For those of us who already believe in Jesus but may have strayed, it's an invitation to come back to Him. Every one of us can go to Jesus with our messes, brokenness, and problems, and He'll make us right as we abide in Him. God doesn't need us to fix ourselves before we come to Him—He does the fixing! Let's come to Jesus today.
The source provides excerpts from a sermon that offers a detailed exegetical analysis of the biblical account of Noah's drunkenness and the actions of his sons (Genesis 9:18-29). The speaker discusses the imperfect nature of Noah and the parallels between this story and the fall of Adam, noting that both involve nakedness, fruit/vine, and a curse. A significant portion of the sermon addresses the historical misuse of this passage to justify the enslavement and mistreatment of people of African descent, condemning this interpretation as horrible theology. Ultimately, the message emphasizes that all families are dysfunctional and that salvation and grace in Jesus Christ are necessary for everyone, regardless of heritage or personal virtue.Support the showThanks for listening! This week was Vision Sunday at Second Baptist! Pastor Jim shared an inspiring message as we looked ahead to the future of our church, while casting vision for where God is leading us and how we can each play a part in what's next for Second Baptist.Recorded: November 02,2025Scripture: Psalm 116:1-19
Pastor Jim unpacks Proverbs 13:20 and Psalm 1 to show how the company we keep directly shapes who we become. Jim explains that walking with the wise leads to wisdom, while surrounding ourselves with foolishness leads to harm. He challenges listeners to consider the voices forming their decisions, asking whether they are rooted in the gospel or in the passing wisdom of the world. True wisdom, Jim teaches, is found in walking closely with people who love the gospel and love us enough to speak truth, receive our confession, and anchor us in God's grace. This message calls us to take stock of our relationships and intentionally walk with those who help us become more like Jesus, not just for our own good but for God's glory and mission in the world.Note: This message contains a brief mention of suicide.
How amazing is it that Almighty God wants to be with us? He keeps our prayers in Heaven—they are that precious to Him! In our churches and our personal lives, we need to spend more time in prayer. The most effective stance we have against Satan is a strong prayer life. The Holy Spirit makes us aware of situations we can avoid when we spend time with Him. Let's get praying!
When you pray for others, how should you do it? This week, Pastor Jim continues our sermon series in Ephesians with a look at one of Paul's prayers that we can use as an example. When we pray, we join in God's building project (people) right now. We should ask for God to give those people strength to endure trials, faith to believe in Christ's life within them, a grasp of Calvary love, knowledge of God's mysterious love toward us, and completeness, being filled with the fullness of God. These prayers may seem really big, but we serve a God who is able to do immeasurably more than we can ask or even imagine! This week, our hosts continue their discussion on the book of Ephesians, some of the talking points were, the Lords prayer and if it was supposed to be more prescriptive or descriptive, if the disciples prayed the Lords prayer, and God building a family of angels and arc angels. Oh and tune into the beginning to hear our hosts share their favorite halloween memory. If you would like to watch the video podcast, find us on YouTube:https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCMhDfGn0zfzi6XjcKkSVcFAFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/discovertbcInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/topekabiblechurchWebsite: https://www.discovertbc.com/
Education and status are pursued by people every day. But these things are meaningless when it comes to revelation—what the Holy Spirit reveals to believers about God. The world seeks its own kind of wisdom, but it's only through the Spirit that we can truly be wise—for salvation, to grow in our Christian lives, or to walk in spiritual victory. Christianity is hopeless without the Holy Spirit!

We rush through our lives, often unaware that a higher state of being is available to us—a state of peace, calm, and deep connection with all life. Asking God for the Impossible | Pastor Jim Boyd | Refuge City ChurchSupport the show
In this first message of the Be Wise series, Pastor Jim explores why wisdom is not only helpful but commanded by God. Drawing from Proverbs 3 and 9, Jim teaches that wisdom begins with fearing the Lord and trusting in Him rather than leaning on our own understanding. He illustrates how wisdom is more than just intelligence or kindness—it is truth applied to the complexities of real life. Jim challenges listeners to consider what shapes their identity and how that identity leads to either foolishness or a life marked by peace, humility, and eternal perspective. As he unpacks the fruit of wisdom, he points to Jesus as the ultimate source and model, the one we must cling to if we want to walk wisely in this world. The invitation is clear: root your life in the gospel and drink deeply from the spring of Christ, the one thing that makes the rest of life possible.

Today, we have a question from a listener about the experience of loss in ministry. It doesn't take long serving in ministry to face disappointment and loss. As a pastor, we are asked to lead through death but also through conflict, division, and transitions. The loss can add up. Pastor Jim shares how he has experienced seasons of loss and how we can sustain our hope and optimism in the midst of sadness.
Deception is everywhere. Leaders, relationships, and situations all can lead us away from the will of God if we aren't careful. Whether it's a new job opportunity, a potential partner, or an event invitation, we need to seek the Lord about everything. No matter how long we've attended church, we can still be fooled. Let's be on guard against the deceptive ways of the devil today and every day.
