College basketball has maybe never been as newsy and buzzy on the first day of May as it is this. That's because the second of three scheduled federal trials is providing a lot of allegations, evidence and more against prominent names and schools. But nothing's hit as hard as the stuff attached to Arizona. Gary Parrish and Matt Norlander open this episode by discussing what the trial is really getting at and what the government is trying to prove, then move on to Sean Miller and the pivotal calls played in court Wednesday (8:30) that have his former assistant, Book Richardson, alleging Miller was paying Deandre Ayton and Rawle Alkins. Norlander and GP close out the pod by hitting on Texas Tech ponying up huge money to pay Chris Beard (41:15) and get into some of the leftover stuff reported this week about UCLA's search. Hosts Jordan Maly and Matt Peck provide you with a daily dose of Chicago Bulls news and stories. We are Locked On Bulls. Locked On Bulls kicks off the show discussing the Bulls recent signing, former 5-star recruit from Arizona, Rawle Alkins to a two-way deal. The guys discuss how the Bulls have used their two-way contracts better than most NBA teams, and how this another low-risk, high reward move. The guys also touch briefly on Denzel Valentine's appearance in the Drew League this weekend and a video that is going viral. The guys spend the rest of the episode going back to a voicemail they played late last week. Do Bulls fans believe that the Bulls moves this summer are more in line with the "business" model rather than a building a championship model? Jordan and Matt debate whether they feel like the moves made this summer leave the Bulls front office with some really difficult decisions to make in 2019 and 2020. Jordan believes that this team might be on the path to "really good, hardworking, competitive" rather than multiple time conference winner. Which path do you believe they are on? On today's episode of Locked On Suns, Evan and Brendon discuss more prospects. This time, we look more towards possible names who could be selected, if they end up keeping Miami's first-round pick. The best fits for Devin Booker could be a secondary ball handler with defensive acumen. We talked about all of the following names in this category: Trevon Duval, Troy Brown, Bruce Brown, Hamidou Diallo, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Shake Milton, Landry Shamet, Jevon Carter, Rawle Alkins, and De'Anthony Melton. This led to a discussion about the red-hot Heat squad, winners of six straight. If the Heat continues to win, should the Suns deal it for a win-now piece? Also, is the 2021 Miami pick Phoenix's "Golden Goose" asset at the moment? Going back into some prospects, we ended it with two wings who could be possible fits in the 8-12 range: Mikal Bridges and Kevin Knox. If Phoenix continues towards a positionless movement, which sees Devin Booker as the primary ball handler, either one of these names makes sense. Also, in the beginning, we went over the Suns' injury news revolving around Marquese Chriss (hip flexor) and Josh Jackson (strained hip) for Friday's tilt with Houston on ESPN.
