The Hoops pod is back! Jack McCauley is joined by former UW players Noah Dickerson and Jason Crandall to recap their thoughts on the Huskies recent road swing through Michigan State and Michigan, otherwise known as the 'Welcome to the Big Ten' road trip. Starting with the 88-54 loss to Michigan State, the guys talk about the slow start, why it happened, and is it something UW fans might expect to see more of throughout the season? The guys also offered up insight on what it's like to get hit in the mouth like UW did last Thursday night, lose big, and what the next day is like at practice. And especially on the road, what was that like? Then they talked about the 16-point loss at Sunday Michigan and whether that's more in line with what UW fans should see from the Huskies moving forward, especially teams that have multiple big men. That talk turned into the play of Great Osobor, who tied a season-high with 23 points. He also showed up with 11 rebounds. How has his progress been, and can UW win games when he's not at 100 percent? After a quick break, the guys move forward and look to the next three games on this current gauntlet of playing six-straight ranked teams. Washington hosts Purdue Wednesday night, travel to Oregon to play the Ducks on Tuesday the 21st, and then they come back to Seattle to host UCLA three days later. With those three games all in the Pacific Northwest, and two at home - does that help shift the energy? And can the Huskies pull off an upset in one of the next three games? Noah and Jason also took some time to answer a couple of fan-submitted questions before wrapping up this podcast. When did they know that they had a team capable of making the NCAA Tournament? And what would it have been like if Dejounte Murray and Marquese Chriss had come back after their freshman seasons instead of turning pro? It's a fully loaded 77 Minutes with the entire crew of Tim Cato, D Magazine's Mike Piellucci, Austin Ngaruiya and our own Dave DuFour as they break down Nico Harrison's first big splash move as GM, acquiring Christian Wood from Houston in exchange for the no. 26 pick, Marquese Chriss, Trey Burke, Sterling Brown and, sadly, Boban. Well, Nico Harrison did not waste any time trying to put his stamp on the team. Several end-of-the-bench players (Sterling Brown, Trey Burke, Marquese Chriss, and Boban Marjanovic were traded for a guy that many Mavs fans previously coveted, Christian Wood. Wood comes to the Mavs after a season where he averaged 17.9 points, 10.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1 Block per game while shooting 50/39/62 splits. For those at home, that would make him second in points, 1st in rebounds, 4th in assists, and tied for 1st in blocks per game among players still on the Dallas Mavericks roster. Of course, those numbers may change a bit, but it speaks to his ability. The 3-point percentage would be 3rd behind Dinwiddie and Dorian Finney Smith. Wood will come to Dallas looking to be what the Mavs hoped Kristaps Porzingis would be; a versatile big to compliment what Luka Doncic does on offense and the anchor to our defense. We also traded our first-round pick which means we do not have a pick to make this coming Thursday as of today. We will see if that changes. In this episode, Bibs and Reese give their raw reactions to the trade as well as their reactions to the reactions of both fanbases. They then get into their thoughts about what the Mavs will do next. 00:16 - 21:35 The Outsiders react to the trade 22:46 - 34:04 What's Next? 35:04 - End Movie and Television Talk Enjoy! The Rockets are trading Christian Wood to Dallas for the 26th pick in the 2022 draft, Boban Marjanovic, Sterling Brown, Trey Burke and Marquese Chriss. Rockets were looking to move Christian Wood to clear playing time for Alperen Sengun and likely the No. 3 overall pick, whether that's Paolo Banchero or Chet Holmgren. They pounced on chance to acquire a first-round pick (and no long-term salary) in the process. Please like, share and subscribe for more NBA coverage. ► Subscribe to our Podcast on iTunes:https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/ck-podcast/id1143709061?mt=2► Subscribe to Leo's YouTube Channel:https://www.youtube.com/c/LeoBeas► Subscribe to our YouTube Channel: http://www.youtube.com/c/CowbellkingdomTV► Follow Basketball Zone for

The Dallas Mavericks went 2-1 in a week that saw them beating the Grizzlies and Magic but losing in embarrassing fashion to the New York Knicks. It was an interesting week of basketball but there was plenty of off-the-court news as well. This week the Mavs got Jason Kidd and Kristaps Porzingis back from health and safety protocols prior to the last game of the week. Prior to this, the team also waived JaQuori McLaughlin and Willie Cauley-Stein. The team also signed Marquese Chriss to a two-year deal. We currently have zero players on the injury report for what feels like the first time since the start of the year. We also have an open 2-way contract still. We are in a great position right now as we make our second-half push. Now that we can breathe, Reese and Bibs decided to have a little fun and have the audience send in their trade ideas. We graded your trades (harshly) but we did have a few winners. This was a lot of fun. Of course, we cap it off with Reese's Unsung Hero and Bibs' Weekly Forecast. 00:00:00 - 00:25:28 Intros and recaps 00:26:55 - 01:22:15 We Grade your Trades! 01:23:31 - End. The Dallas Mavericks took care of business against the Orlando Magic in Kristaps Porzingis' return and made a roster move signing Marquese Chriss by waiving Willie Cauley-Stein.Nick Angstadt (@NickVanExit) breaks down the Mavs' win over the Magic and the chippiness that occurred between Luka Doncic, Josh Green, Chriss, the Magic's Mos, and more. How did KP look in his first game back since December 31st? How sick was he while he was in Health & Safety Protocols? Willie Cauley-Stein was released so that the Mavs could keep Marquese Chriss for the rest of the year. What does that move mean for the Mavs? The Dallas Mavericks (without Luka Doncic, Kristaps Porzingis, Tim Hardaway Jr, Maxi Kleber, Reggie Bullock, and others) beat the Minnesota Timberwolves behind Jalen Brunson's inspired play and the new players they signed.Nick Angstadt (@NickVanExit) and Isaac Harris (@IsaacLHarris) breakdown the Mavericks win over the Wolves and how they pulled off the improbable victory. Jalen Brunson stepped up and led the team in scoring and hit buckets in big moments. The Mavs signed Theo Pinson and Marquese Chriss less than 24 hours before the game but they both stepped in and contributed in big ways.
