The Alabama Crimson Tide has had an active midweek bye this week without playing a game, the Crimson Tide may have former Alabama Basketball big man Charles Bediako available Saturday against the Tennessee Volunteers at 7:30 on ESPN. It was an active Wednesday on the Bediako front as a Tuscaloosa judge ruled in his favor with a temporary restraining order against the NCAA that allows Bediako to be eligible for Saturday's game during the delay prior to the Tuesday hearing that will determine his ultimate eligibility. The NCAA is not happy about this and coaches and ADs from across the country have weighed in on what has happened in Tuscaloosa. We will hear from them. His findings suggest that amyloid-beta, a protein long associated with Alzheimer's disease, may also serve as part of the brain's antimicrobial defense system—trapping pathogens like a mesh or biofilm, but leading to damaging plaque buildup when overproduced. Jeff Howe and Gerry Hamilton sat down with new Texas Longhorns head coach Sean Miller for an in-depth, wide-ranging interview. With his first season at Texas about to tip off, Miller laid out his philosophy, roster insights, and expectations for the journey ahead. Building the Foundation: Miller stressed the importance of pace, detail, and defense. His offense will emphasize fast execution—not just quick shots—while the defense starts with a strong man-to-man foundation. The key this season? Don't try to do everything at once—get really good at the essentials first. Analytics Meets Instinct: Miller explained how modern analytics help him identify the best lineups, balance offense and defense, and “fix leaks” when certain combinations don't work. But he still leans on instinct and proven coaching principles to guide decisions. The SEC Challenge: Miller called the SEC “the best conference in college basketball”—loaded with athleticism, physicality, and elite coaching. He compared it to the old Big East but with more speed and defensive playmakers. Scheduling & Growth: Balance is everything.
