At a wedding no one expected to remember, something went quietly wrong—the wine ran out. In that culture, it meant shame, not inconvenience. Nearby sat six empty stone jars, ordinary and overlooked, meant only for ritual washing. Jesus didn’t make a scene or give an explanation. He simply gave an instruction. What happened next would reveal who He really is—but only to a few. John calls this Jesus’ first sign, the moment He revealed His glory. Not in public, not with power on display, but in hidden emptiness. Joy replaced lack. Ritual gave way to transformation. And somehow, the best was saved for last. Why did Jesus choose this moment—and what does it tell us about how He still works today? This Sunday, we’ll step into the tension of that moment at Cana and discover what this first miracle reveals about knowing Him—and what He may want to do in our own emptiness, mess, and disgrace. - Pastor Ben Key Verse - John 2:11 (NIV) - "What Jesus did here in Cana of Galilee was the first of the signs through which he revealed his glory; and his disciples believed in him." Jesus’ first miracle at a wedding in the small mountain town of Cana, where He transformed water into wine, serves the launch of His earthly ministry that brought God His father glory and strengthened His disciples' faith, thereby symbolizing God's desire for complete spiritual transformation in the lives of all who would believe in Him! Quick. What was Jesus' first miracle? You got it?....Turning water into wine. Not quite what you expected. But what can we learn from this miracle about who Jesus is and how we should live our lives?

This is the well-known story of Jesus turning water into wine, but there is more to it than first meets the eye. More than wine, this illustrates that Jesus came to do away with the old and usher in the new. The term "drawing," when He drew the wine out of the jars, refers to drawing from a well, the water of which, like grace never ends. This new wine is better than all that before.
People need experiences when they see God come through.

From the "Water into WIne" miracle - we learn what it means to run on empty and how to overcome it - in Jesus
Jesus chose to unveil his first miracle with his people at a wedding. Jesus was a Savior of the people, for the people, with the people. The old way of worship could not accomplish what Jesus came to establish which was a relationship with God, based on grace alone. Sermon Notes @ http://bible.com/events/188838
