This week we're reading John 2:1-11, the story of Jesus turning water into wine at a wedding -his first miraculous sign in the Gospel of John, and an unusual place to start. Jesus himself objects to his mother's subtle suggestion that he ought to take action when she sees the wine has run out. I mean, come on - the stakes here are not that high. So the party-goers will be disappointed, so the host will be embarrassed.  So? Doesn't Jesus have bigger fish to fry? But in choosing to act, he brings a hospitality beyond our wildest imagination into the story. Now, if Jesus can overcome his hesitation to act, if he's willing to adjust the actual cosmic clock of the kingdom of heaven in the interest of hospitality...  what exactly is it that holds us back from generosity? and what we might be able to overcome?

More than just recounting stories, Hunter encourages us to look for the deeper signs that all point to Christ as the source of hope, joy, and transformation in our lives. As we move through this Advent season, Hunter reminds us that the incarnation of Jesus is both a sign of God's immeasurable love and a statement of our value in His eyes. The episode wraps up with a time of prayer, reflection, and gratitude for the Daily Radio Bible community. Whether you're new to the podcast or a longtime listener, today's reading and reflections are sure to encourage your heart and help you see Jesus afresh in this season. So grab your Bible, settle in, and experience a transformative encounter with the God who is always with you. TODAY'S DEVOTION: All the signs are pointing to Him. We see it at the wedding feast, where Jesus turns water into wine. And we see it again in the healing of the government official's son—where, simply by Jesus' word, a boy is healed, a fever is gone, and a prayer is answered. Every sign in these stories draws our attention to Christ Himself. All the signs, not just in these chapters but throughout the gospel, are pointing to Him as the source and fulfillment of our hope. As we move through this Advent season, the days leading up to Christmas, may we remember that every sign, every symbol, every hope is pointing to Jesus. He is our wedding feast. He is the One who turns our ordinary water into extraordinary wine. He is the One who responds to the deep cries of our hearts. In Him, our longings meet their answer. The Gospel of John reveals Him, over and over again, in powerful signs and wonders—but those signs are not the point. They are arrows directing us to the One who gives life. During Advent, may our eyes and hearts be open to recognize Him afresh. Emmanuel—God with us—has come. He has not only identified with us by taking on our humanity but has also embraced us so that we might share in the very life and joy He has with the Father, through the Spirit. This is the depth of His love, and in that love, we find our true value—how deeply we are loved and cherished by God. Let us pray for eyes to see the signs and hearts to believe what they show us: that all is pointing to Jesus, to His love, His sacrifice, His inclusion of us into God's very life. That is my prayer for my own soul, for my family, and for you. May we see all the signs, and may they always lead us to Him. May it be so. TODAY'S PRAYERS: Lord God Almighty and everlasting father you have brought us in safety to this new day preserve us with your Mighty power that we might not fall into sin or be overcome by adversity. And in all we do, direct us to the fulfilling of your purpose  through Jesus Christ Our Lord amen.   Oh God you have made of one blood all the peoples of the earth and sent your blessed son to preach peace to those who are far and those who are near. Grant that people everywhere may seek after you, and find you. Bring the nations into your fold, pour out your Spirit on all flesh, and hasten the coming of your kingdom through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.   And now Lord,  make me an instrument of your peace.  Where there is hatred let me sow love. Where there is injury, pardon.  Where there is doubt, faith. Where there is despair, hope.  Where there is darkness, light.  And where there is sadness,  Joy.  Oh Lord grant that I might not seek to be consoled as to console. To be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love.  For it is in the giving that we receive, in the pardoning that we are pardoned, it is in the dying that we are born unto eternal life.  Amen And now as our Lord has taught us we are bold to pray... Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven, give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our tresspasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not unto temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. Loving God, we give you thanks for restoring us in your image. And nourishing us with spiritual food, now send us forth as forgiven people, healed and renewed, that we may proclaim your love to the world, and continue in the risen life of Christ.  Amen.  OUR WEBSITE: www.dailyradiobible.com We are reading through the New Living Translation.   Leave us a voicemail HERE: https://www.speakpipe.com/dailyradiobible Subscribe to us at YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@Dailyradiobible/featured OTHER PODCASTS: Listen with Apple Podcast DAILY BIBLE FOR KIDS DAILY PSALMS DAILY PROVERBS DAILY LECTIONARY DAILY CHRONOLOGICAL

“Water Into Wine” is a prophetic conversation for every believer who has ever felt their strength, joy, or resources run out in front of the people who expected them to have it all together. In this powerful episode, Dr. Delisa Rodgers unpacks the miracle at Cana and reveals what happens when shame is waiting at the door, frustration rises in your chest, and life exposes your empty places. But just like Mary, you can remember that the Miracle Worker is already in the room. This episode invites you into a moment of transformation where ordinary water becomes supernatural wine, where lack becomes overflow, and where embarrassment turns into divine elevation. Dr. Rodgers weaves biblical insight, prophetic revelation, and real-life transparency to show that God does His best work in the places that have run dry. If you are standing in a season where something vital has failed or fallen apart, this teaching will remind you that Jesus still turns water into wine and that your next miracle is already present in your situation. Expect hope. Expect restoration. Expect transformation. The One who changes everything is in the room.

The Mission North Shore - Current Teaching

Aloha and welcome to The Mission North Shore's Podcast!  In this exploration of Jesus' first miracle at the wedding in Cana, we're invited to see beyond the surface-level debate about alcohol and dive into the profound spiritual symbolism at play. The transformation of water into wine isn't just about saving a celebration—it's a vivid picture of Christ's power to fundamentally change us from the inside out. We're challenged to consider: Are we like those stone water pots, filled with our own efforts at righteousness, or have we allowed Jesus to transform the very essence of who we are? This message urges us to examine our hearts and ask if we've truly been born again, reminding us that Christianity isn't about external rituals but about an internal regeneration that only Christ can provide. As we reflect on this, we're called to be living testimonies of God's transformative power in a world desperately in need of hope and change. God bless and have a great week!

In this powerful first message from Evidence of the Exclusivity of Jesus, Dr. Michael Youssef declares the divine authority of Christ through His first recorded miracle—turning water into wine at the wedding in Cana. Far more than a mere act of kindness, this supernatural sign (or simeon) proves Jesus is not just a teacher or prophet, but the sovereign Lord over nature itself. Dr. Youssef unpacks the cultural weight of this moment, showing how Jesus rescued a family from generational shame—symbolizing how He alone saves us from eternal disgrace. This miracle marks the beginning of Christ's public ministry, calling every believer to trust, obey, and worship Him—not for what He gives, but for who He is: the exclusive Savior and Lord.

TALK TO ME, TEXT ITFrom the front seat of my car at 5:20 AM, I share some bittersweet news about my parking lot buddy Tim heading off to Alaska. We've had this unspoken competition about who arrives first each morning, and strangely enough, I'll miss seeing his headlights pull up in the dark. The weekend brought precious time with my grandson - that happy, smart little boy who never seems to throw fits (at least not at Grandma and Grandpa's house). But what really caught my attention this week was a fascinating archaeological discovery about Jesus's first miracle. A historian believes he's found compelling evidence for the true location where Jesus turned water into wine - complete with ancient Christian tunnels marked with crosses, a veneration cave complex used by pilgrims for centuries, and even space for exactly six stone jars as mentioned in Scripture. The physical connection to biblical history is absolutely mind-blowing.I've been watching the fifth season of The Chosen, and Jonathan Roumie's portrayal of Jesus continues to move me deeply. I find myself feeling strangely sympathetic toward Judas, watching his fundamental misunderstanding of Jesus's mission unfold. After attending Marjorie Taylor Greene's recent talk, her message about getting involved locally resonated strongly. Too many of us whisper "I don't want to get involved" when faced with challenging issues in our communities. Whether it's through social media or showing up at local meetings, we all have opportunities to stand for what we believe. What's your favorite miracle that Jesus performed in the Bible?
