This week’s message highlights the glory of God as revealed through creation, humanity, and Jesus Christ. Psalm 8 reminds us that even in our weakness, God hears our cries and establishes His strength through our dependence on Him. The vastness of the universe reflects His majesty, and yet He has crowned humanity with honor and purpose. Most powerfully, God's glory is displayed through Christ, who humbled Himself to save us and restore our place in His creation. In every season, we are called to look up, trust fully in Him, and give God all the glory.

We are created in God's image to rule God's world.
We are created in God's image to rule God's world.
Main Point: God’s majesty (kingship) is evident as he exercises His right to make the low high. 1. How Majestic is your name! (v.1, 9) 2. The praises of the weak overcome God’s enemies (v. 2) 3. Mankind given dominion over all creation (v. 3 - 8)

Once we know Who God is and what God does, then we can more accurately answer, “What is man?” for what we believe about humanity flows directly from what we believe about God. The #1 theological issue of today, the Christian doctrine most debated and under attack, is the doctrine of mankind. And the implications of our view of humanity is enormous, ranging in issues from families, marriage, gender, racism, government policies, abortion, medical ethics, the justice system, etc. It is vitally important we get this right!

"God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong..." (1 Cor. 1:27-29). As strange as it seems to us, God wins with weakness. Compared to the self-existent and all-powerful God, we are so small. Despite the glaring contrast between God and man, the wonder of the incarnation and the beauty of the Gospel is that God DOES care about us, God DOES remember us. 1 Corinthians 15 and Hebrews 2 (quoting Psalm 8) show that this promise of "dominion" is now only incompletely fulfilled among men. Yet, it will be ultimately fulfilled in Jesus, the ultimate Man, the second Adam, and not only that, but it will also be completely fulfilled in His resurrected followers. So where do we clearly see the majesty of God? In the face of His Son, Jesus Christ.
We exist to ignite a passion in every person to glorify and enjoy God everywhere and in everything.
On this Trinity Sunday we look to the Athanasian Creed to help us discern the nature of God and hence what it means to be made in the Image of God and to be seeking to recover that image in our individual and corporate lives.
