Alex built a massive audience at a young age, but this conversation goes way deeper than followers, money, or social media. What starts as a discussion about TikTok, authenticity, and the future of content turns into a raw conversation about ego, plant medicine, family, God, money, discipline, and what actually makes life meaningful. What this episode is about:This is a conversation about what happens when success forces you to question what you are really chasing. Alex opens up about growing up online, building a real connection with his audience, experiencing the highs and dangers of psychedelics, and learning that money, cars, and attention only go so far. Jared and Alex also go deep on presence, spirituality, self-worth, discipline, and why the internal work always comes before the external results.Key topics discussed:- Building a real audience in the age of TikTok, AI, and overproduced content- Why you only need 1,000 true followers to change your life- The difference between authenticity and flex culture online- Alex's experience with psychedelics and a 6-month psychosis episode- Plant medicine, presence, and the ego vs the soul- Jared's “Perfect Walk Formula” for changing your energy every morning- How Jared went from broke to making $50,000 a day in 60 days- Why family, love, and presence matter more than money or statusWhy this episode matters:Most people are chasing money, attention, and validation without ever stopping to ask what they actually want. Alex has already experienced a version of success most people dream about, but this conversation reveals the deeper lesson: your external life only changes when your internal world changes first. If you are building a business, creating content, trying to grow online, or questioning what success is supposed to feel like, this episode will hit home.Drop a comment: Do you think success comes more from strategy, discipline, or energy? If you're interested in learning more about The Light System check it out here:https://thelightsystems.shop/goetz100Use code GOETZ for access through the official affiliate link.Subscribe for more conversations about business, consciousness, discipline, spirituality, and the parts of success most people never talk about.01:00 Why Authentic Creators Will Win the Future04:25 Why You Only Need 1,000 True Followers08:43 Why Authentic Content Wins12:38 The Ego vs The Soul14:15 Plant Medicine & Spiritual Awakening18:47 Alex's 6-Month Psychosis Experience20:55 Jared's Worst Mushroom Trip Story26:19 Changing Your Relationship With Money28:54 Jared's “Perfect Walk Formula”30:34 Growing Up Broke & Fear of Losing Everything32:35 How Social Media Hijacks Your Brain36:45 Becoming a Millionaire in 60 Days44:02 Discipline, Self-Respect & Success46:32 Why Your Environment Changes Your Life53:53 Turn Off the News & Focus on Yourself57:15 The Meaning of Life & Leading With Love01:05:01 Why Family Is the Meaning of Life01:06:56 Why Expensive Cars Don't Fulfill You01:12:18 Final Thoughts on Success & Letting Go

this week on @cdburners the guys are joined by @letliveperiod & @fever333's Jason Butler to dive into Glassjaw's explosive debut Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Silence, unpacking how the record helped redefine post-hardcore with its raw intensity and genre-blurring sound. they explore the album's chaotic mix of melody and aggression to the emotionally charged title track, while also addressing its controversial, often abrasive lyrical themes. @mrjasonaalon reflects on how Glassjaw influenced his own musical journey and its lasting legacy as a deeply influential, if polarizing, cornerstone of early-2000s heavy music. Have you noticed you're not seeing all the 11:11s, 444s, and synchronicities like you used to? Does it feel like the universe stopped speaking to you? What if I told you that's actually the sign you're on the brink of everything you ever wanted? When we first start our spiritual journey, our soul sends us constant breadcrumbs…synchronicities, angel numbers, undeniable signs. But there comes a point when those signs seem to disappear. ABOUT THIS CONVERSATION: In this episode I sit down with Tosh, known as Divorce Goddess, for an open and grounded conversation about relationships and the realities of divorce. We talk about the emotional build up, the process itself, and the life that follows. Tosh brings clarity to the fear, grief, confusion, and unexpected growth that often come with separation, along with the importance of kindness, boundaries, and emotional honesty. We explore childhood patterns, communication, love languages, narcissistic behaviour, and why children sense far more than adults realise. Tosh also shares how divorce coaching can help people who feel lost or overwhelmed find their centre again. If you practiced yoga in the 90s, you know… it was different.Chapters:00:00 Intro & why we're talking about 90s yoga04:03 Andrea's first yoga class (and the clown car moment)11:54 Jason's first yoga class in college25:11 Quirky studios, circus neighbors & wild props31:26 What's changed for better and worseBefore it was in every gym, before online classes, before Lululemon — yoga in the U.S. was a quirky subculture you had to seek out. In this episode of Yoga-ish, we share our funniest, weirdest, and most heartfelt memories from our early years of practice: • Renting rooms in funky parts of town with circus performers as neighbors • The original paper-thin blue and green mats that never got cleaned • Heavy wooden props that could double as furniture • Our first teachers — from deeply traditional to delightfully eccentric • How yoga felt before it became mainstream, and what's changed (for better and worse)Whether you started in the 70s, 90s, or just last week, this is a love letter to yoga's evolution — and a celebration of its wonderfully weird past.
In this ENCORE presentation, Dr. Kevin Pogue, PhD, professor and geologist educates us on terroir. This podcast is like taking a terroir class: it debunks so many things that people spout in reference books, at wineries, and in mainstream press about the topic! He explains things brilliantly and he is one of the first people I've ever met who actually has answers to my really dorky questions about terroir. Photo: Kevin Pogue. From Vinterra.net Kevin is one of the most famous people in the field of terroir. He's considered the foremost terroir expert on Washington State wine and he's known around the world - his work has been featured in both national and international journals. He's a licensed geologist and professor of geology at Whitman College in Walla Walla. Kevin has a doctorate in geology from Oregon State University, and decades of college teaching and research experience. He has authored books, articles, and done extensive research on the terroir of the Pacific northwest, with a good portion of this time spent on investigating the deposits of the Missoula floods, which were the pivotal event that formed the geological base of the region. Kevin's research today focuses on terroir. He owns a consulting company, Vinterra, through which he assists wineries in choosing the best vineyard sites, matching grape to site, and educating winery owners and winemakers and their customers on why their specific terroir leads to the style in their wine. Jillian Lauren is a writer, storyteller, adoption advocate, and rock-wife. She is the New York Times best-selling author of the memoirs “Everything You Ever Wanted” and “Some Girls: My Life in a Harem”. She was the only journalist to extensively interview Samuel Little, the most prolific serial killer in American history. Her latest book about the time she spent interviewing Sam Little is called “Behold the Monster: Confronting America's Most Prolific Serial Killer”. Her writing has appeared in New York Magazine, The New York Times, Vanity Fair, The Los Angeles Times, Elle, The Daily Beast, Salon, and many others. Laura opens the show by asking Jillian about being an adoption advocate, before getting into her newest book “Behold the Monster”. Jillian talks about how rampant crime was in Los Angeles in the 80s, making it difficult to discover Sam Little as a serial killer. This leads to the kind of victims Sam Little would seek out, and the work that went into finally catching him. Jillian then discuses visiting Sam Little in prison by having to pretend she was his friend so the guards would let her in. Her extensive time spent with Sam Little led her to solve one of his murders that was previously deemed a cold case. Before they wrap, Jillian talks about how her interviews with Sam Little negatively affected her home life For More On Jillian Lauren:Email - jillianlauren@me.com Kingstonfullmedia@gmail.com audrey@tgcworldwide.comManager - Charlie Fusco, TGC Worldwide, charlie@tgcworldwide.com Website - https://www.jillianlauren.com Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jillianlauren Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/jillianlaurenauthor TikTok - https://www.tiktok.com/@jillianlaurenauthor X: https://twitter.com/jillylauren Youtube - https://www.youtube.com/user/jillianlaurenBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/only-one-in-the-room--6052418/support.
