Episode 419: On the night of October 1, 2017, a gunman opened fire on more than 22,000 concertgoers at the Route 91 Harvest Festival on the Las Vegas Strip. In eleven minutes, 58 people were killed and hundreds more wounded — the deadliest mass shooting by a lone gunman in American history. Among the dead were four Canadians: Jordan McIldoon, 23, of Maple Ridge, British Columbia; Jessica Klymchuk, 34, a mother of four and beloved school librarian and bus driver from Valleyview, Alberta; Calla Medig, 28, of Jasper, Alberta, days away from a promotion she had earned; and Tara Roe Smith, 34, of Okotoks, Alberta, who became separated from her husband in the chaos — her family spending the next day searching. At least six more Canadians were wounded. Hundreds of others came home carrying something that doesn't show up in any injury count. In this episode of The 1000 Hours Outside Podcast, Ginny Yurich sits down with Justin Jackson of Horse Pen Ranch to talk about something surprisingly powerful: cooking outside. What begins as a simple Dutch oven on a backyard fire turns into connection, confidence, skill-building, and memories that actually last. Justin shares how his love for outdoor cooking grew from childhood to chuck wagon life at Silver Dollar City, why kids are naturally drawn to making something with their hands, and how this one habit can pull families out of screens and back into real life together. This is practical and doable with no expertise required, just a willingness to try. If you've been looking for a way to get your kids outside that actually works, this might be it. Discover why Revelation 14 might be the most crucial chapter you've never fully understood — and how it reveals God's ultimate plan for harvest, judgment, and salvation. If you've ever wondered what the Bible truly says about Christ's return, the final harvest, and the fate of humanity, this episode unpacks powerful, scripture-based insights that will transform your understanding of the end times. Chapters: 0:00 Introduction 0:19 Revelation 14 Overview 1:17 The Harvest Festival and Its Significance 3:02 Biblical Metaphors of Harvest 4:28 Matthew 13 and Revelation 14 Connection 6:24 The Parable of the Weeds Explained 9:25 Revelation 14: The Harvest of the Earth 12:01 The Rapture and Second Coming of Jesus 15:20 Judgment vs. Wrath of God 19:35 The Role of the Church During Tribulation 23:41 Revelation 14: The Harvest Described 28:02 Jesus' Trial and Declaration 31:18 The Return of Jesus on Clouds 35:25 Encouragement and Conclusion You'll hear an in-depth exploration of biblical harvest metaphors used throughout Scripture, from Matthew 13 to Revelation 14, revealing what's really happening when Jesus comes back in the clouds. Joseph Givens draws on the imagery of sickles, grapes, and clouds to show that the harvest isn't just about judgment — it's about the divine gathering of His people and the final decision for all nations. Expect to discover how the Bible explains the timing of Christ's return, the difference between judgment and wrath, and why believers are destined for celebration rather than condemnation. Key topics covered include: How Revelation 14's harvest mirrors the parables of Matthew 13 and the teachings of Jesus about the end of the age The significance of Jesus coming on clouds, with a sickle, and the angelic role in gathering the ripe crop The biblical explanation of the rapture, the second coming, and the timing—why it's not as simple as many assume The crucial distinction between God's judgment of society and believers' salvation from wrath Practical implications: How to prepare spiritually for Christ's return by staying ‘ready with lamps burning' and embracing the Holy Spirit Ignoring these insights could leave you unprepared for the coming of Christ — but understanding them unlocks hope, clarity, and a confident expectation of His return. Whether you're a seasoned believer or exploring the end times for the first time, this episode provides biblical clarity in a confusing world. It's perfect for anyone longing for truth about heaven's harvest, divine justice, and the hope of eternal life with Jesus. Don't miss this detailed, scripture-rich journey through Revelation 14 that might forever change how you see the return of Christ and the divine harvest. A visit to Quiet Valley feels like you are stepping into another time — you can walk among the barns and fields, meet costumed interpreters and even visit a one-room schoolhouse where you can sing songs and experience what it was like to be in school more than 130 years ago.Join us as we speak with Julie about the fascinating history of Quiet Valley — a farm with roots reaching back to the 1700's, when its earliest residents included a former Hessian soldier from the American Revolution — and learn how this special place continues to bring the past to life for visitors of all ages.Music: "With Loved Ones" Jay Man Photo(s): Courtesy of YHYS PodcastThank you for supporting Your History Your Story!YHYS Patreon: CLICK HERE YHYS PayPal: CLICK HEREYHYS: Stay in the know, join our mailing list: CLICK HERE YHYS: Website, Blog & Social: CLICK HERE#yhys #yourhistoryyourstory #history #storytelling #podcast #njpodcast #youhaveastorytoo #jamesgardner #historian #storyteller #blogger For more info on Quiet Valley: CLICK HERE

From a 9/11 firefighter who turned his pain into kindness, to a victims' rights attorney who changed national law, to fellow widows and survivors who refused to give up, Mary Jo discovered what it means to carry tragedy together. THE LAS VEGAS MASSACRE CONNECTIONS is both a deeply personal account and a collective portrait of resilience. Through Mark Gray's in-depth reporting and Mary Jo's courage to share her story, this book captures the enduring impact of Route 91 and the human strength that rises after unimaginable loss. On today's TCT, we discuss what happened to Mark on the fateful last night of the Route 91 Harvest Festival, why he revisited that night five years later, how Mary Jo Von Tillow came into his life, and how life brought all the people in this book together and turned trauma and death into new life and new opportunities! Lured Up - A Pokémon GO Podcast

Lured Up Podcast Live Streamed on - 10/15/25 Publish Date - 10/17/25 The wait for the Level 80 rebalance made October 15th one of the longest days ever. From little to no communication from Niantic, Trainers had no clear answer as to when the rebalance would happen. As the day went on patience grew thin, the anger started boiling over, and the crash outs began. Finally, at around 4pm ET the update launched and the community took a deep breath and focused on the path ahead. The last week of gameplay included the Harvest Festival and Solosis Community Day, which gave Trainers some fun and varied gameplay. Mossy Lures covered the gameboard and the events and bonuses stacking made for an awesome Sunday. Even with the failed launch of Weekly Challenges, many Trainers had an awesome time playing over the weekend. The Legends Z-A event hits this week, and the event is a bit lackluster. While it does bring a branching Timed Research, this event on paper seems to be a bit slower than what we have been used to lately. This weekend however, brings the return of Mega Rayquaza which will surely bring Trainers out. We look to Pokebattler and GO Hub to put together a Raid Guide and Battle Party.pro-tip, bring Ice. We close things out with a discussion around November's Into The WIld event. With an event ticket and it's own GO Pass, it begs the question of how much is too much. The overlapping spending opportunities press our ability to say no, especially when the Silver Bottle Cap is part of the rewards for the Deluxe GO Pass. Let us know what you thing, not just about the amount of event tickets, but the newer trend of overlapping GO Passes, which may put some Trainers over budget. Author and journalist, Mark Gray joins us to talk about his newly released book titled "The Las Vegas Massacre Connections: Finding Strength Through Tragedy After America's Deadliest Mass Shooting." Mark's book is the tale of Mary Jo von Tillow, whose husband, Kurt, may have been the first person fatally shot on Oct. 1, 2017, during the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas. After losing her husband, Mary Jo sought out survivors of other tragedies to heal. Lured Up - A Pokémon GO Podcast

Lured Up Podcast 366 - Find Your Way Live Streamed on - 10/7/25 Publish Date - 10/10/25 It's another news heavy week as Niantic continues to pump out blog after blog. With the last week including Mega Metagross and DMAX Duraludon, many Trainers had an active and busy weekend of gameplay and it doesn't appear to be letting up anytime soon. This next week brings us the Harvest Festival, which if Trainers want to make the most of, will put the GO Plus+ on the back burner and require faces to be in front of screens. This is a great technique by Niantic to get Trainers re-engaged with focused gameplay. GMAX Grimmsnarl has been announced for the GO Wild Area, as the event keeps getting stronger and stronger. This event has cemented its place in the annual major event lineup and is getting the features and releases to back that up. Hopefully we will see significant differentiation between it and other events like GO Fest or GO Tour. Perhaps they can deliver a unique experience via a GO Pass or Special Research. We skim over a bunch of events that will arrive in the coming weeks, with the most notable being the return of Mega Rayquaza. This is one of those events that will have the hand of Eternatus reaching into Trainer's pockets and urging them to Raid as much as possible. There aren't too many Pokémon that will bring people out than Rayquaza. Still no word on if we will see any guaranteed Meteorites or how that will work this time around. Wayfarer has detailed their 2025-2026 roadmap, and it looks to become a more personal tool. From monthly recognition emails to the mention of a new Wayfarer map, this is a great time to get involved. We discuss the incredible feeling of having a POI added to the game as well as the agony of defeat when things get rejected. Some Wayfinders consider Wayfarer its own game, and the roadmap is looking to support it with new tools and features. True Crime Tuesday presents: Money Machine: Mass Murder and the Suicide That Changed Las Vegas with Mike Turber! Mike Turber is an investigative Reporter/ Former Security Consultant who was called in to take a look at the worst mass shooting in Las Vegas history, and in the process, managed to change the official narrative and find the truth behind the shooter, Stephen Paddock, and his reign of terror on the Route 91 Harvest Festival. Mike has managed to do everything from finding evidence that shouldn't exist, to uncovering blatant lies, proving that the service elevator and back hallways of Mandalay Bay were hardly "impenetrable" (to the tune of 57 times since the shooting), the same area where Paddock was free to sneak in his weapons to the 32nd floor with ease. And even point out corruption by officials after the shootings! On today's TCT, we dissect the Route 91 Harvest Festival case with Mike.  Discuss Stephen Paddock's motives for the crime and how he was one of the only media members to develop a relationship with Stephen's brother, Eric!
